Description of Work: Imperial replaced our kitchen countertops and sink with Corian. We are thrilled with the results. One of the reasons we decided to use Imperial was that they were willing to make a rounded inside corner where the backsplash and counter meet, even in the corners of the room. Most companies just lazily fused them at a 90 degree corner. |Work went wonderfully well from our initial visit at the showroom to finish. Workers were on time. They worked quickly and cleaned up behind themselves. All in all, we couldn't have had a better experience. We would highly recommend them to anyone needing kitchen work. They were great!

I just did above.
Description of Work: Bathroom was to be completed in 10 days, its been six weeks! Things I wanted and ordered were screwed up, which meant I didn't get the tiles someone else did. They screwed up the cabinet and had to remove it and do it again. The painter was not a painter, three times he had to redo his work, which we pointed out. The bathroom is almost complete. They threw out a part now have to reorder. The bathroom looks good, but it has left me with a bad taste in my mouth. Would not recommend.

It is our premise to make our clients happy and to do this we need to be flexible in our business. The original project went through several reincarnations of itself after the contract was agreed upon. We were happy to make these changes to both, work orders and materials – additions, deletions and swaps. Unfortunately, this can lead to errors and time delays. We like to be accommodating to our clients – the client asked us to be out of the jobsite while they were on vacation and we gladly obliged. The client desired to strip the wallpaper off their walls and prep for paint themselves and we gladly obliged. The client added on the complete removal and replacement of their ceramic tile floor, along with additional painting work – this attributed to another 5 days of labor on top of the 10 that was initially speculated. Building inspections always play a part in the time frame of projects as well. The village has its own schedule that is out of our control and, unfortunately, we cannot proceed with a project until we have their approval when we reach pivotal points in a project. Early in discussing the project, the client requested that the vanity, which we were recovering, also be built up to a 32” height. This request missed being placed in the contract since it was drafted several weeks, and several conversations, after the quote; neither we nor the client noticed this omission. Once the vanity was finished, the client remarked on the height. We gladly obliged by pulling the vanity to rework it, though it was never included in the project. We do not call a project complete, until we are satisfied with the final result. The client was not happy with the walls and neither were we; we sent our painter over three times to work on the walls. We misplaced the vent fan cover during one of our clean-ups and we ordered a replacement that took 3 weeks to have delivered to our facility. If it were not for this delay and a few other finishing touches, the project would have been called complete after 4 weeks of work, or 20 days. Considering the additional work the client requested and the 3 days we were out of the project due to the client’s vacation request, we were essentially 2 days out of scope. We do not believe in abandoning our clients. No phone call from the client went unanswered; we responded to their desires and concerns in a timely manner and whenever they requested to see the president of our company at their home he was there. At the end of it all, we want the client to feel that the room is their own. We apologize that the journey to get there was not as smooth as everyone would have liked.

As is the case with many older homes with small rooms, it was difficult for anyone to cook in the Ryan's kitchen. We are so pleased the hear that even though six years has past, they continue to be happy with the design decisions made and the craftmanship of our installers.

I found the company on Angie's list and I was able to meet with the owner the same day I called. Mr. Rich was extremely professional. The work was completed on time, the workmen were very neat and cleaned the work area completely each day. The counter tops and lighting look great, and they were able to match the new rolling cabinet with my old 12 year old cabinets exactly. We are extremely pleased and would recommend Imperial Kitchens to our friends.
Description of Work: Imperial Kitchens replaced my counter tops and backsplash with corian. They also put in new under cabinet lighting, new undermount sink, and new faucet, in addition to a custom made cabinet on casters to fit into a corner of our kitchen.

We are disappointed to just now hear about the member's problems with her powder room and quite surprised, since we were not called for service work in the past nine years since working in her home. The member decided to move forward with us for her projects in August of 2000 with the actual remodeling commencing and finishing in November 2000, in accordance with her contracts for the kitchen and powder room. Nine years ago, we did not have a painter on staff and it was not a part of her contract to paint either of her rooms. Unfortunately, we cannot address the issues that the member raises, as she had not given us the opportunity to service our work. However, it has been nine years since we worked in her home and as much as we would like our products to last forever, there is a life expectancy on spaces that we use repetitively on a daily basis.

Overall we were very pleased from start to finish. Ed did a wonderful job designing our projects and the materials they used were higher level goods. We probably could have done the jobs cheaper by subcontracting ourselves but nothing could beat the convenience of one-stop shopping in their design center/showroom. The company is small and we received a lot of individualized attention that we didn't have in other projects we did with larger companies. There were some scattered issues but they were all addressed in a timely fashion so we were overall very pleased and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends and family.
Description of Work: We used Imperial twice. First we had them completely gut and restore two bathrooms that were 40 years old. Then we gutted and restored the master bath with an oversized state-of-the-art shower. And we had them build a walk-in closet in our master bedroom.

They didn't leave a mess and did what they said they would. It was what they promised to do and the price was good. I wish they would have advised me that with a textured product that the color can wear off. The counter is supposed to look like black slate, but where I work the most the color is worn off. The problem is not to do with the manufacturer or them, I just feel they should have warned me that this can happen and maybe it was not best in the kitchen.

The bathroom was a sad collection of one DIY project over another. It was time for a complete overhaul. In the showroom, after describing what I wanted, Larry Rych warned me that the ballpark cost for this type of job would be $20000. When I told him I wanted to go ahead with an estimate, he was able to come to my house in less than a week to take a look and take some measurements. He had an estimate (complete with working sketches!) ready for my review less than a week after visiting my home. Throughout the entire process, Larry was FABULOUS about explaining every choice that had to be made, and every factor we had to consider. There was never any pressure to do things his way. Also, since this is the only bathroom in the house, the installers made sure that the toilet was re-installed every night! (Showers happened at the gym, hand washing in the kitchen, but we still had a toilet!) The installers were conscientious about the work site, letting themselves in in the morning and locking up in the evening. I interviewed 3 different bathroom contractors, and Larry was the most comfortable with the challenges of an older home and a SMALL bathroom, and was the most knowledgeable about the kinds of products (high-end, middle, and cheepo) that we could choose for our bathroom. It was our decision, but he made sure we made an informed decision. The installers worked as quickly as possible, knowing that we had to LIVE with this mess.
Description of Work: Completely gut a 6'x6' full bathroom in a 120-year-old home. Replace with NEW 6'x6' bathroom. 1 custom linen closet, 1 custom medicine cabinet, 1 custom sink cabinet and 1 custom Corian countertop. Kohler fixtures, tub and toilet. Ceramic tile. New exhaust fan. New electric circuit. Replaced original wood window in shower with new vinyl window.

They were to design and carry out plans to remodel my kitchen. When the kitchen was completed I was not totally satisfied with the work. I contacted them after they were finished and the resolution they provided was not as I thought it should be. I hired experts because I wanted to do things the right way but I ended up with a kitchen that is less functional than it was before I started. Although they were nice people to work with, I am not completely satisfied.

WE ARE SORRY TO HEAR THAT THE MEMBER IS NOT SATISFIED WITH THE WORK WE PROVIDED FOR HER. HER KITCHEN IS VERY SMALL AND OFFERED MINIMAL OPTIONS FOR CHANGE. BASED ON THE FINAL APPROVED DESIGN, WE ELIMINATED SOME STORAGE SPACE SO WE COULD OPEN UP A WALL AND BRING SUNLIGHT INTO THE ROOM FROM ANOTHER AREA OF THE CONDO. SHE STATED THAT SHE DIDN'T COOK MUCH AND THE STORAGE WOULD NOT BE MISSED. WE FINISHED HER PROJECT IN MARCH 2007, AND IN SEPTEMBER SHE CALLED TO SAY THAT THE DRAWERS IN THE KITCHEN COULD NOT FIT A STANDARD SIZED UTENSIL CADDY. LARRY RYCH, THE MEMBERS CONSULTANT AND THE PRESIDENT OF OUR COMPANY, PERSONALLY WHEN TO HER HOME TO REMEDY THE PROBLEM BY INSTALLING A CUSTOM UTENSIL SYSTEM – AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE. MR. RYCH FELT THAT SHE WAS HAPPY WITH THIS RESOLVE. WE HAVE NOT HEARD FROM HER AGAIN, REGARDING THIS ISSUE OR ANY OTHER ISSUE THAT MAY HAVE ARISEN. SINCE SHE WAS VAGUE IN HER COMPLAINT ON ANGIE’S LIST, WE CAN ONLY ASSUME THAT SHE IS REFERENCING THE UTENSIL DRAWER.

They were prompt and professional at all times. Stephanie did a super job with the design work. The workmen were careful to be tidy. The work looks great. Once they started the job, they kept the progress moving (which is important in a one bath house). There were a few minor repairs that were required after completion, and they were happy to come right out to attend to them (one year warranty on the workmanship). A good experience.
Description of Work: Imperial designed and constructed a total bath renovation for us, including significant plumbing updates. After discussing our goals they worked up the plans and material list. Their construction team then performed all the work, except for painting. Our project involved gutting the bath, and including removing the floor to the joists. Elements in the new bath included a new wall/window, bath tube, vanity, lighting (canister, vanity, and bath alcove), toilet, tile (floor and bath alcove), hardware, exhaust fan, trim, an extra cabinet, and plumbing (new trap and vent stack).

Ed was very friendly and came to our home promptly to give us the estimates. Of all the quotes they seemed the most reasonable. Their showroom is small but they have just about everything you would need to pick out tile, cabinets, hardware, and faucets (saved an enormous amount of time). They are very good at helping match colors and patterns to the customers' tastes. The work went very smoothly. We were happy with the flow. The only drawback was the last 5% (odds and ends) which took an extra two weeks and delayed us in painting the bathrooms. Still, we would use them again.
Description of Work: Complete gut and restore two full baths.
