A friend recommended them to me because she had a good experience with them. Called scheduled an appointment, after seeing an ad on TV. Salesman was nice enough but the estimate was extremely high for 7 windows. Told him I had to think about it. Next week the supervisor wants to see if he can help me. He comes out and gives another estimate. Yes it was better, however, I am not fond of the overly high pressure and how I have to commit right then and there for the deal they are giving at that moment. Why not just give a real estimate the first time instead of hours wasted listening to the sales tactics.? I had told them to begin with I had other estimates and a friend that used to be in the business. I guess they thought I would be an easy push-over. Overall I was just insulted by the whole experience.

The experience was mostly good. The estimate appointment is more like a sales call. The salesman was very friendly and informative, but we felt a bit pressured, and though the result is great, we might have been able to save some money had we gotten other estimates. The windows are top quality, installation was well done, and the company overall is very professional. We had an issue with the installers, who had forgotten to clean up a few aluminum scraps from our yard. The receptionist was very apologetic, and in the end, the company made up for it. But I was disappointed that the workers never came back to clean up properly, even though they told the receptionist that they had. Some dishonesty from the workers, I believe, but overall a satisfactory experience.

After his paper presentation (even PowerPoint would an upgrade) he messed with pricing and it appeared we had a deal but we didn't give him a check so he backed off a bit. We promised him a check of half down once we reviewed a competitor the following Saturday but with a sale eminent we never heard from him. Doesn't make sense but like word trust I can't really define but I know what it feels like.
Description of Work: They came out and gave a quick demo but much longer than needed. Didn't really care for the salesmen's demeaning attitude toward his fiancé and women in general. I'll put up with it if they have a credible product.

The process from initial consulation through installation was informational. Despite weather, the installers were friendly, awesome and had all windows replaced all in the 1 day it was scheduled for. Installation included removing any rotten wood, replacement, etc... There are a few minor things that resulted in quality being B in lieu of an A but nothing that would stop me from using Window Works again. I am very happy with the window products and sliding door and have even noticed cost savings with for with heating/cooling.

It became rather unpleasant at the end because they would not leave. They wanted me to make a decision on replacing the windows. I was not prepared to do this at the initial meeting. I had told them this before hand. I told them I was getting estimates. They were the first of three contractors I was going to discuss my project with. It appeared to me they were willing to sit around for hours and hours at the end asking for the sale. I scheduled them for 1 1/2 hours. They were here for 3. I realize salespeople have to ask for the sale. But these people asked a half a dozen times. Annoying because I expressly told them I was not going to make a decision at the time. Empire / Luna carpet may have been the worst with this tactic but WindowWorks is a close second. Their windows appear to be good. However, I do not need the aggravation of dealing with such people. They were annoying to me when they were allegedly putting their best foot forward for the initial sale. Imagine how annoying WindowWorks would be if I was locked into a contract with them? Life is too short to have to deal with such people. I'm moving on to someone else.

Very punctual and professional. We had very old, unusual windows that the installers removed. The mess from their work was very well contained and by the time they left, you couldn't even tell the amount of work that had been done in the room. The new windows look great, work wonderfully and have made a huge improvement in our home.

They did a fabulous job. The salesperson who came out was great. The window installers did a good job. The gutters and soffit installers did an excellent job. My only suggestion is that the guys who do the window replacements needs to do a better job preparing the area, so they don't have so much glass to pick up afterwards. We are absolutely thrilled with the overall work they did and how great our house looks. I would definitely use them in the future.

It was a horrible experience. There were all types of problems. They couldn't get information right on what I wanted done to the door. They did not call for an hour before their scheduled appointment and said they couldn't make it. I had taken off work and had an electrician hired that had to work in tandem with door installer. I ordered the door in November and I didn't get door installed until late February. Door installer also commented on "not wanting to come on this side of town at night." I had to endure multiple visits because of miscommunication. Dealing with the company is horrible and now no one is calling me back to service my door, but they call me to solicit more business.

This company provides loads of promises with no follow through. I initially spoke with a gentleman named Eric, their estimate was far lower than many of the other companies I spoke with and they even kept lowering the price as we went on talking about the project. After I explained to Eric that I didn't think I wanted the siding done, I just wanted the doors, he seemed to shrug it off like it was not a large enough project to take on and I didn't hear back from him. I went back in and spoke with another gentleman Anthony, he was wonderful at first and again kept promising lower rates and more service offers. After agreeing to his estimate I asked Anthony for a written contract before starting the work, he claimed he would email it to me but i never saw anything. I spoke with Anthony's supervisor asking for the contract and he promised to follow up as well, but again I heard nothing. Finally we had scheduled an estimate for today, 10/9, and I called the receptionist yesterday to confirm and to again request the written contract. She initially stated that she did not see our appointment scheduled for today, but after running through the notes of all the times I had called for the contract she found it noted. It is now two hours past the time of our appointment, nobody has shown up and nobody has called.
Description of Work: I wanted two doors installed and an estimate on new windows and siding as well. This company gave me multiple estimates, but after working with them tirelessly to try to get a written contract and estimate I can no longer move forward with them.

Talked to a number of suppliers about replacing doors, picture windows in my living room. Saw that they offered a $100 Restaurant.com gift certificate for just coming out for an estimate. They were among the higher estimates I saw. Gave me the hard sell. It was so clearly hard sell that it was laughable. Were totally inflexible on the price. So they sent another salesman. He was awkwardly hard sell. They had some rehearsed lines that just didn't instill confidence in me and no flexibility on the price. Told them no but I did want to redeem the restaurant.com certificate. No problem he said. Waited a few weeks and nothing. Then a telemarketer called to see where I stood. Told him I wasn't interested but I did want to redeem the certificate. He said he was going to walk over to that department and get it mailed out immediately. Months later I realize that they never intended to honor their offer. They were hard sell and scruples.

I really would like to resolve this for you. We do offer $50 restaurant.com giftcards with estimates (and have never advertised or given $100 restaurant.com cards). We definitely do send out the $50 ones, though. Unfortunately, I cannot find any appointment in my system with your address or name. I even went through every appointment we ran on the service date you provided in your review. If you are sure this was with our company, perhaps there is a spelling error in your name? Please call our office at 888-444-4014 as soon as possible so that I can find your information, figure out where your giftcard is being sent to and correct this to get it sent it out to you... Let me start by saying I ended up having 4 completely different experiences with this company -- first was the "delightful" woman setting up the appointment, then "salesman" Patrick, then the "telemarketer type manager" who called back that we have a deal for you, and then was Jason. 1) lady setting up the estimate - was rather rude, explaining that they had to have 60-90 minutes to go through the estimate and I said excuse me - I have had several other people out and none were here longer than 30 minutes, then I was told to make sure to have all "decision makers/homeowners" there at the time of the meeting. Excuse me -- that is none of their business and secondly - are they going to come at 2am when others are here due to their work schedule? 2) From the start Patrick began on the wrong foot. He took one look at me (I am a single female) and immediately asked: "Are all the decision makers here?", then he gave a look of surprise and confusion when I respond "Yes". Patrick wouldn't listen to me in any way - he only wanted to go through a 60-90 minute "lecture" that I didn't have time for. I told him that I called to get an estimate not to go through the history of the company. I wanted to know about their product, what it would cost, what time frames we were looking at to install, length of time to actually install, what would happen if issues arose that day, etc. He came with a window brochure -- not a sliding glass door one because "they don't have any". That is CRAZY! Then he proceeded to show me nothing of any value about their product & repeatedly told me the 3 pricing options: pay in full, pay in 6 months at 0%, or pay in 12 months at 2% interest with a total cost of $7,382. If I bought today it would be $6,497. That was almost $2k more than any other quote I received. I kept telling him I had more estimates next week and I would make my decision after that, and all he would do was repeat: "Which option are you going with?" No matter how many times I repeated that I'm not making a decision today he would just repeat the question to make the sale right then, presumably with only self-interest in mind about earning his commission. Finally I walked to the door and waited for him, and he said it again! Someone needs to explain to him the art of shutting up before you kill a deal. 3) The telemarketer manager called to say we reviewed what Patrick quoted you and we have a better offer and will have another supervisor (Jason) come out to talk to you about it. I wanted to speak to Jason to tell him how insulted I was about the lady & Patrick but yes the idea of a better offer intrigued me until I thought -- "why wasn't that offered to begin with?" -- however I agreed to meet Jason anyway. I continued to receive calls from telemarketers (even after Jason came) and finally had to explain how annoying it was to be called repeatedly. I will make a decision but your calls are HURTING your chances NOT HELPING. 4) Jason -- Jason was the only redeeming quality of everything. If it weren't for him -- all grades would be an F. He took the time to explain everything, answer all questions, show some examples/fliers, and he treated me with respect and not as if I was buying a used car from some sleazy salesman like I felt with everyone else in his company. If I would have had experiences like this in the beginning -- I possibly would have chosen this company. I ended up choosing a product that I like better (not to mention MUCH better customer service from the other company). But the most interesting thing I found was that Jason's estimate was $4829.00 for the same 2 8ft sliding glass doors. That is a total of $2,553 difference between the two estimates from WindowWorks. Talk about a HORRIBLE way to do business.

We do always ask for all homeowners to be at the appointment and atleast 60-90 minutes to make sure we have time to answer all of your questions. While it may not always take that long, the average appointment does. We want to ensure that we are able to give you the exact price and in order to do so, you have to pick out which options, styles and colors you are looking for. I apologize if this came off any differently. I am not sure what other companies you have dealt with, but typically for custom made products, this is something that is asked. I will look into the pricing difference. That usually happens depending on the month of the sale or if you change some options. I will address it and make sure that was the case here. Thank you for your feedback.

Installation was delayed by 2 month - December 2014, not October as was promised by sales agent. Product is OK, windows was replaced with no problem. Salesman was very pushy and stated that the price quoted was only good if we agreed immediately. When he was told we wanted to think about it, he made a cellphone call, handed us his phone saying his manager was offering us a discount, again if we signed immediately. We again asked him to leave, and he did. The whole situation made us feel very uncomfortable. We would never use this company.

First, we discovered that we had been lied to. Window Works does not manufacture their own windows. They are a distributor for Vista Window Company based in Ohio. Window Works is in Illinois! We left the sticker from the manufacturer on the windows to prove it. The salesman lied about manufacturing the windows themselves. Second, 5 of the windows had streaks of purple glue dried on the inside of the double pane glass from the factory. The Window Works Installation Inspector told us that they would replace the sashes with the glue in about three weeks. That remains to be seen. Third, the biggest concern is that the village inspector failed the entire job because every window has major gaps between the sash and the frame. The gaps are so wide that you can see daylight through them. These windows are worse than what we had before which were original to the house (built 1975). They also forgot to caulk one of the seams outside. Buyer beware. These people are dishonest.

Salesman came out to quote a security door, garage door and rear entry door. In the process I ended up getting a quote for a window. Since I had just moved into my home, I decided to apply for financing in order to keep some money in the bank. Eric the salesman, said someone would contact me or he would call me the next business day to see if I was approved. I have not heard from anyone. Even if I weren't approved, I would expect the company to call me and then I would have just used my own credit card. How did you let a $6000 sale slip away?????? Oh well, I'm disappointed. Eric said the negative reviews on Yelp, were fake. I beg to differ.

This company is awful. They are worse than used car salesmen-VERY pushy and then incapable of following through with anything they say. We didn't go with their windows because the entire thing didn't sit right. If you have to push that hard to make a sale, you are probably trying to sell someone garbage. I'm glad we only had to deal with them in terms of canceling our order as I don't trust this company or their product in the least as a result of their behavior and the interactions I have had with them. The long story of what happened is below. The salesman came to our house and gave us a VERY long and VERY hard sell on windows. He tried to claim he was giving us a great "marketing" deal and giving the us the best possible offer. He pushed us into signing that day which we did but then after having time to think about it, we decided to cancel. I called the company the next morning (less than 24 hours after signing) and cancelled. There is a document that you sign that says that it is Illinois law for the customer to be able to cancel any service within 3 days of signing. When I called to cancel the order, the secretary was very nice but was insistent that the salesman needed to schedule an appointment and come back to our home to cancel. I refused this and demanded that they put me on the phone with a manager to cancel the contract/order immediately. They had someone call us back an hour later to cancel via the phone. We thought it was all settled and a week later we got multiple calls from WindowWorks to schedule a time to do the final measurements for the windows. Irritated that the order was not cancelled, I called back and spoke to the nice secretary again who assured me that our order was in fact cancelled. I said that I wanted an email confirmation since there was obvious confusion the last time. She assured me I would have an email from them that day... I never got one. Then 10 days after the initial meeting with the window works salesmen, I receive an approval document from VISA saying that our financing for the windows was accepted. At this point I was furious that they ran my credit and submitted our application for financing AFTER we cancelled the order. Again, I called back and the secretary gave me some BS explanation that because the guy didn't come to our house to cancel that the paperwork got submitted. Again I insisted I speak to a manager. The secretary said her manager would call me back in 5 minutes when he got in the office. It has now been 48 hours since and still no phone call. All in all this has been a terrible experience and I hope to save others from having to deal with them at all.

OMG what an awful experience. I'm starting to question Angie's list ratings because these people are the equivalent to buying a used car at a sleazy dealer. We called for an estimate on a new patio door and needed a service provider because it's a bit of a custom job. I went through the entire project with the agent on the phone, explained in detail what we were looking for, and she scheduled a sales appt. I should have had better radar when she asked that all decision-makers be present for the estimate, which pretty much told me what their sales tactics were going to be. Anyway, the rep showed up, to his credit, on time, but had no idea what we wanted, When we explained the project he seemed surprised. I told him i had gone through the project over the phone with the agent, and said "well those are call center so what are you expecting..." I told him that he probably doesn't want to be talking smack about his own company, and that it kind of says something about the company overall. Onward... so then we explained what we wanted, and the sales guy said "you know that's not going to be cheap, right?" He literally said that.... Then he got on the phone with "production" and relayed the project and the questions we had so he could actually get answers. The guy on the phone must have said something again about the cost, and the rep said "yeah, this is a nice area, they look like they can afford it." I mean, what? So then he gets off the phone and says that he will give us an estimate for a vinyl patio door as close as he can get it until he gets an exact quote from "production." That's when i told him that I specifically wanted a wood door, to match the rest of the windows in our 100 year old house. He said "we only do vinyl and if that's not what you want then i think we're done." But not before he suggested that we replace all our original vintage windows with vinyl. I said well I'm not one of them, and that's not why you're here, and as you can imagine, that was that, and he left. But not before he called "production" to tell them he didn't make the sale (and probably to tell the manager that he wouldn't need help with the high pressure sales tactics that were sure to follow had we wanted to proceed). I would NOT recommend engaging Window Works for anything, EVER. Unprofessional, terrible internal communication, high-pressure sales approach, complete with a virtual "manager" in the back office. Weird and scary. I don't even want to know how they handle you once you've already paid. STAY AWAY.

They did what they said they were going to do without delay. They were very efficient the day they came. My only complaint was that the catalog with the salesperson that I talked to make the decision and write the contract did not show all the possibilities. Someone called me during the process to ask what kind of keys I wanted, and I found out that there were some other designs, which I preferred. So I got the preferred design when we were in the process between the time I met with the salesperson and when they started the work. Overall they were good, and I think the doors have functioned well and they are very tight weather-wise, which is what I wanted. They have good, strong locks, so I think is good. I didn’t do a lot of comparison shopping.
Description of Work: We used Window Werks to install three doors.
