Somehow I can't finish with them. It was supposed to have been this past Saturday; it was supposed to have been the Thursday previous to that: it was supposed to have been a month ago. I can't seem to finish with them. They keep missing appointment and missing parts. They did shoddy work and of course they say that AL gives them a high recommendation -- great. I want to give them something different. They did not charge me anything for the last visit, but they charged me a couple of thousand dollars for a door and have never completed the work. They did a lousy job to begin with. The door leaked and it rained all in the house. They sent somebody out to patch it up, claiming that they needed a new part. So they ordered the new part and, of course, delay, delay, delay. The product is a quality product, however the install was not.

My dismay with the company all comes down to our salesman. I simply showed him a picture of the exterior door I wanted from a different company's catalog and he told me he would be able to get what I wanted. I didn't even see a catalog of his or anything. On the day of install, (2 months later) I saw the door being placed on and it was the WRONG door. Completely wrong color and style (it's a nice door but completely off from what I ordered). I did however, like the workmanship of my installer and he assured me it would be an easy fix if I wanted a different style but same color (which I could deal with). I called my salesman who had left two months ago.. and multiple people told me that there was nothing they could do since I had signed off on it... How am I supposed to know what the model number on my form means without a catalog? Isn't that my salesman's job? I finally got a call from Letha from WindowWorks - super helpful and understanding of the situation. She sent out the sales manager Rob - very nice and accommodating. However, it turns out, I would not be able to receive the door I really wanted because only specific doors fit in that frame. I was overall disappointed. There was nothing I liked or even anything close to the one I wanted so they had agreed to give me a small compensation for me keeping the original door. Overall, it was a stressful and disappointing process and I'm still left with a door I never wanted just because it was one mans fault :( My advice would be to check EVERYTHING.

Well, I am glad Rob and Letha and the installers were able to resolve things with you, but am sorry to hear that it wasn't the door you originally wanted. We definitely do a lot of ongoing training with all of our salesmen on our products and we do our best to make sure that anyone that is not up to speed is not meeting with customers until they are up to our standards. We take things like this very seriously as we know that home improvement projects are big purchases and we want them to be easy and exciting, not stressful or disappointing! Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

They did not have the outside screen doors and were possible going to replace just what we had. The quote was a little high but in terms of the experience of the guy coming out and talking to us and explaining everything to us I would give them an A. They were the most expensive of the prices we got. If they had more samples in their showroom it would be better. My first impression of them was good. It was a young guy who came and was very enthusiastic. It sounded good but I think that was also the first quote we got.

One of the worst experiences I have ever had with any company from a communication standpoint. My email address was written down incorrectly, so I never received an email from Window Works with an order confirmation or other. The follow up with keeping me in the know was non existent. I had to call them in order to find out what was going on, and it was extremely difficult in getting in touch with the right person to get answers to my questions. I was not informed that the initial installation date was pushed back by over a month, as I had to call to find this out. I believe the turn around time was 17 weeks from the week I ordered which, was more than double what I was initially quoted. The follow up phone calls to sell me more products when I had not even received my doors were totally unappreciated....especially when the sales agent didn't even know about the difficulties I was experiencing with the order I had placed. The follow up "pressure sales calls" after my initial meetings were also a major turnoff. Had it not been for HGI providing such a high quality door, I would not have done business with Window Works. I made these views known several times in how dissatisfied I was, and never received an official apology from Window Works. After considerable amounts of research, my recommendation for windows is Weather Shield (they use a non-metal spacer) and Therma-tru for doors (they offer a lifetime guarantee on their fiberglass pre-painted doors).

Cost way too much. For the work, I was really happy. Its an lifetime guarantee. I signed up in September. They had to order them. They said they would get back to me in December, and they didn't. It was bad weather, which didn't help. They do great work, that was just the only issue. I was doing it in a time, my bad guessing when to do it. It would have been nice to wait for a sale of some kind. I have had two other windows done, and they have been really good. I had to keep calling, and they had no idea, did we say that. I didn't talk to them, my son was here at the time. They just do the work, and that's the best. I didn't need to talk to them, they just did it. That is professionalism. I will probably wait for a sale. Just wait for a sale.

We purchased 16 windows for our home. The sales process went well and we ordered the windows. The windows were manufactured in a timely manner and they called to schedule an install date for January 6 2017. We thought everything was all set. They followed up to confirm by phone and then the night before they sent a txt to confirm all was set for 8:00am the next day. We adjusted schedules and removed all the blinds as asked. For the week prior to the install the forecast for January 6th hadn't changed. It was going to be 6 degrees with no rain and no wind. In that time we received two confirmations that everything was still one. Then at 7:55am on the morning of the 6th I get a call from the installation supervisor that they need to cancel due to the temperature and the fact that the caulk won't set right. I absolutely understand the reason to not do the install in those conditions and the need to reschedule. The issue is that this weather was forecasted for a week and they proactively confirmed the install twice in that week leading up. The supervisor on the call even said we will "reschedule for next wed since the forecast calls for rain and low temps on mon and tues" . I asked him if he can plan around a forecast now, why couldn't he do this a week ago so we wouldn't have to take another day off and put all the blinds back up. I called my sales Rep and am still waiting for a call back. This is seeming like a small non professional company more and more. I will update the review next wed when the install is now scheduled for.

Awful never showed up nor a phone call. Do not sign the Notice of Rights to cancel stay away..stay away i made the mistake of ignoring. After agreeing for storm doors there was a two months wait on installation. Finally the day with a time of 800 an and nothing waited one hour and half and still nothing i called the company and was told that the installer had called inand had to be rescheduled unbelievable. So now i am bwing thrown at the back of the line due to something that is not my fault is ridiculous. They said they would called back and never did. Not well! Phase one: the Purchasing Phase. In May 2016 I called to order replacement gutters with leaf guards. They sent a rep (Douglas Martin) to measure gutter lengths and provide a quote. Prior I measured with a tape measure all gutters and provided all lengths. Rep presented products and indicated they no longer provide the gutter leaf guard as on their website but now offer a different type. I asked if new flashing was included because it appeared to me that some of my problem was caused by my existing flashing. I was assured that new flashing was part of the installation of new gutters. Rep used a walking wheel to determine rough quantities and provided an estimate. All took over an hour of time. The quote was higher than local providers, but I wanted to go ahead and believed Window Works had a good reputation. About a week or two later Window Works called to set up a time that they could do "final measurants" and asked that I be home. No measurants were taken but a new rep (Howard ?) came by with contracts to be signed, 6 pages of tiny print requiring 3 signatures. None of these 6 pages appeared to offer any protections to my rights. But I signed believing they had a good reputation. Howard indicated installation would start in 4 to 6 weeks. I again confirmed the location of gutters to be replaced and that it included new flashings. Phase two: the Scheduling Phase. 3 weeks later, end of June, permits arrived. I expected gutter work to start in one to three weeks as originally indicated. About that time I received a call from Window Works permit person confirming receipt of permit and indicating I would receive a call from their installation department to set up a time for installation. No one called. Heard nothing by July, so I called Windoe Works asking for the scheduling person and was told that he was out in the field and would call me back when he returned. No one called back. Patiently waited as time passed but called again early August only to be told that the scheduleing person would call back. I reminded this person that I was told this the month before, and was assured the scheduler would call. Patiently waited another month, but no call was forthcoming. It was now late September so I called again, and gor a recording, but I persistently pushed buttons until I received a person to talk to. Amanda Skedel answered from another departments/division and when I expressed my frustration she kindly put me on hold and walked over to the correct division to find a person that could help me schedule an installation date. Amanda found no one in that location so she picked up the phone to apologize for the inconvenience and said she could see that the work would be scheduled tomorrow, Friday or Monday. I chose Monday and she said a crew would be there. Then she offered to send me some restaurant discount coupons in appreciation for my patients. The crew did arrive on Monday! Thanks to the efforts of Amanda who cared enough to about the reputation of Window Works, I got my gutters installed before winter. She is a jewel! Now phase three starts: the Installation Phase. Workers arrived early morning on Monday as scheduled. Greeted the person who appeared to be in charge and although we experienced some language difficulties we did communicate. He indicated he would finish in one day and I indicated I wanted new flashings installed. Work went well on the first section but I did not see any flashings on the ground with the new gutters. I asked why and was told that he could not install new flashings because the shingle nails were to close to the roof edge and that he would damage the wood shingles if he installed new flashings. A condition not discovered by the two separate measurings done over 5 months ago. After a few phone calls by the workman, some rising anger on my part, responsive calming of me by the workman, they agreed to take down the first section installed, modify the standard flashing and reinstall the first section of gutter with new flashing. Being a little concerned now, I walked around the house to observe work. The gutter bending truck had made all gutters and had left. It appeared that not all gutters were on site so I asked why there were no gutters for the lower sections in the back of the house. I was told that the lower root was not in the contract (measured "twice" in Phase One above and in written contract). After some heated discussions and a few worker phone calls the gutter be dung truck arrived, more gutters and flashings were made and installation was completed in a professional manner and full payment was made? I received a follow up call from Window Works asking if the installation was satisfactory. I responded it was, after we over came some issues. I have taken the time to detail this as I remember it because I had mixed feelings about how I scored questions above. The end result of gutter installation was acceptable. The 6 pages of contract signing was a surprise since it was presented as a "final measuring meeting and I felt pressured to sign documents with print too small to read and should have been reviewed by my attorney. But they "needed" to be signed then. Awkward at best. Not getting return phone calls for over 4 months in Phase Two was very concerning since I paid over $900 at contract signing and was starting to believe I was being scammed. Had it not been for Amanda's actions on my last phone call I was about to cancel my contract for non-performance and request my credit card company to stop payment. Amanda is about reputation and service, how often do you find that anymore; certainly not fron the Window Works person in charge of scheduling ! I could recommend Window Works for quality of installation but give them a two thumbs down for quality of services. From deceiving contract signing meetings, to unresponsive phone calls, to not conveying the discription of required work to the installation crew, to asking me to approve the work on gutter installations in-assessable to me two stories up on my house; cause me to conclude I would never use nor recommend Window Works again. I hope this helps. They need not contact me. Damage is done!

Thank you for giving your feedback. I apologize for the frustrations you dealt with regarding communication and scheduling and I will make sure all of those issues are addressed. I am glad you had a good experience with Amanda, sounds like she was a great representation of how we want all of our staff to be. The sales person arrived on time and was very polite. The sales pitch took over 90 minutes with the price being mentioned at the end. There was a significantly lower price offered if I signed up that night, a high pressure tactic that I do not appreciate. In addition, the salesperson had led me to believe that this company had an A rating and a Super Service award from Angie's list. Before handing over any payment, I checked the website and found only a B rating and no mention of the Super Service award. I have no trust in this company after this experience and did not order any windows from them.

We have in fact won the Super Service Award.. Angie's list has changed the layout of their site a lot lately, so I'm not sure where their site states that now but if you call into them I am sure they can verify that for you. Our A rating did drop to a B unfortunately due to installation delays we experienced during a rough patch where one of our main manufacturing partners went out of business (which was unexpected on our end). We of course promptly found a new partner to supply to us but unfortunately there were many customers who experienced delays during this time so while we worked diligently to resolve each and every complaint with every single customer, people still were understandably frustrated that it took more time than expected. We have no problems with that currently, thankfully, but it did cause our grade on here to drop some. We have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau still. We will make sure our representative is not getting the two of those confused. As far as replacing your windows, we would like to thank you for thinking of us and taking the time to get a quote from us!

Not well at all. We scheduled an appointment with the Tiger Bath rep at the Skokie Back Lot Bash. WindowWorks called and confirmed the Thurs 9/1 appointment on Wed 8/31. The same person then called back about 10 minutes later to say, oops, I need to reschedule the appointment because there is a staff meeting on Thursday. Right there, we have a problem, because the person should never have confirmed the appointment in the first place, they should have had it tagged as needing to be rescheduled. The appointment was subsequently rescheduled for Tuesday 9/6 at 10am. Over the holiday weekend my wife received two phone calls on Saturday to confirm the appointment and one on Sunday. She attempted to return the phone call twice on Sunday, however, after five minutes of being on hold each time she hung up. There was no way to leave a message to confirm the appointment. Tuesday, my wife waited at home and alas, no one appeared for the 10am appointment. No phone call, nothing. She has now wasted a lot of time just trying to get an estimate. What would have made the confirmation process much better would have been for the person calling to confirm to have given us their name and an extension where my wife could have left a voice mail message to confirm the appointment. That would have been good customer service! My wife and I also wondered why WindowWorks did not call on Tuesday morning, lets say at 8am to confirm the appointment? That would have made a lot of sense to us, and again would have been good customer service. Although the person I spoke with on Tuesday morning said they would honor the $50 Restaurant.com offer, I am not holding my breath to receive it. Finally, due to this unpleasantness. I have called the sister company HomeWerks and cancelled a quote that was being prepared on a room in the basement. Even though HomeWerks claims to be a different company, it doesn't help that their phone is answered as "You have reached WindowWorks..."

The representative was unprofessional, asking me to stop caring for my kids as it was distracting him (my husband was giving him his full attention and I had told the phone rep that would be the situation). He didn't know what we were looking for when we walked in and didn't try and operate within our budget. He detailed the outfits that his "hot" coworker "who dresses like a stripper" wears during the appointment. I wish I had asked him to leave at that point. He provided a quote that was a couple thousand dollars above our budget; using the "today only" price that the company relies so heavily on to trap people into their projects. He got aggressive when we said we did not want to move forward at that price and tried to make us justify saying no to him. Would not recommend this company; the quality of the products is likely middle of the road but the pricing was premium when compared to other quotes we received. They get their business by making you think that the "today only" price is a good deal but if you continue to shop around you would likely do better.

We ended up not using Window Works because on their initial visit/estimate, they used every high-pressure sales tactic they could (both homeowners present, if you buy today you save an extra 10%, etc.), and duped us into signing with them. We had three days to cancel, and on the second day, we submitted our cancellation in writing. They had already cashed the down-payment check we gave them for $2,400. They also signed us up for a home repairs credit card. It took us over a month to get our $2,400 back from Window Works, and when we canceled, they tried to resell us by offering lower prices. We ended up getting estimates from 3 other companies, and Window Works was by far the highest estimate we received. Overall, this was a terrible experience. The people were unresponsive, the company took our money and cashed it before the cancellation window had passed, and the price was much higher than several other estimates we got. This company will dupe you into signing and use every high-pressure sales tactic they can. If you want a company that will treat its customers well, look elsewhere.
Description of Work: They gave an estimate for window replacement of 15 windows and a patio door.

I first contact Window Works sometime during the summer of 2015 to get an estimate to replace 21 windows. The pressure tactic during the visit is the only negative I did not like (need both of us to be present, special $$$ off, marketing special etc. etc. if you sign today). I was not ready to sign any contract the same day, so did not. A sales rep followed back in Jan to see if there was anything they could do to get the project going. I met with Daryl and went over the pricing options. Again, same marketing tactic of checking with office manager etc. to see if they can reduce the price. Failed to reach an agreement and Daryl left. He came back an hour later at 9:00 p.m. matching my price. The installation process was a breeze (it was installed on that breezy day in Feb!!). The installers were here at 8:00 in the morning sharp. They covered the floor to avoid any damage. They finished up replacing the 10 windows by 2:00 p.m. They cleaned everything up nicely. The windows so far seem fine. It looks like standard windows, nothing custom or anything. I have cherry trim and molding all around the house, I was able to get a close match to that on the interior. The fiberglass screen on the outside is of average quality with the joints exposed. Overall satisfied with the investment.
Description of Work: Replaced 10 windows.
