My request for an estimate was answered in a timely fashion. (Cannot recall if I emailed or phoned, but it went so smoothly I did not have to give it a 2nd thought---it is the emails & phone calls that go unanswered that one remembers.....the ones that are answered promptly do not leave as much of an impression...,.Unanswered emails/calls were NOT an issue w/ Doug.) At the initial appt. to select window treatments we were upfront & said we wanted to economize, & Doug suggested we stick to the verticals vs. the more updated, but costly Luminettes & Silhouettes. We did not feel we were being pressured to go the more expensive route. The day of installation they arrived on time & finished @ least an hour earlier than expected. SUN ROOM / DINETTE: Doug & his drapery specialist removed the 5 heavy cornices, removed the old blinds, installed the new blinds, re-installed the cornices & cleaned up whatever mess was made. The result was a brighter, cleaner look to the area as well as easy to operate blinds. GREAT ROOM: The very long & rather heavy vertical blinds were removed from the old headrail & the new headrail installed. It was a big job because of the length of the vanes. The result was a smooth & silent operation vs. the loud grating sound of the gears not meshing as they should. REC ROOM: An already solidly anchored headrail did not call for added support, so the ends of the vanes were trimmed w/ a tin snips @ no additional charge. MEDIA ROOM: Additional support added to sagging headrail @ no additional charge.

Doug was very easy to work with. He made great suggestions when picking out the color and style of shutters that would look good in my hopme. The shutters were ordered about six weeks ago and installed yesterday. The crew arrived as promised. They were efficient, neat and did a beautiful job. I couldn't be happier with the service or results. Thanks Doug!

Prompt, no hidden charges. Very good about replying to emails in a timely fashion. Blinds were ordered and took about 2.5 weeks to come in and then the install was scheduled. Requires half down when the order takes place, and I simply dropped a check to him in the mail and had him email me when he got it. Very easy to deal with and would use again in the future.

Doug was wonderful to work with. He was responsive, punctual, and professional. He presented us with various options for window treatments in our new home, and kept our budget in mind. He made helpful suggestions regarding style and color, and never gave us the "hard sell". Although we had Doug price out blinds for the entire home, due to budgetary constraints we could only move forward at this time with blinds in 2 bedrooms. Doug never pushed us on this decision and was very understanding. This is one of the many reasons that we will use Doug again when we are ready to purchase blinds for the remainder of the house. It was less than 3 weeks between our order date and the installation, which was great. Doug expertly installed the blinds and cleaned up after himself so well that, had there not been new blinds on the windows, I would have never known he was there. (You'd think this is a given, but you'd be surprised at how many people don't clean up after themselves!) Finally, Doug followed up after installation to make sure we were happy with everything, understood how things worked, and had received the care instructions and warranty materials. In short, Doug was a pleasure to work with. He is knowledgeable and professional. As I mentioned before, we look forward to working with Doug again once we're ready to get blinds for the rest of our house.

Doug was installing the blinds and he noticed before I did that the wood valance was defective, in act both of the valances that was ordered was defective. Loved the look of the blinds but I felt they were a little too short on the width due to a mis-understanding. I'm a very fussy person and told Doug my concerns, he was more than willing to work with me and make me happy. So he re-ordered the valances of course, and re-ordered the rails to correct the width that I was un-happy with. Now the blinds look great and I'm happy. It was nice to work with someone that cares about his customers.

Doug was professional and was able to find what I was looking for. Installation was quick and clean. I would use him again!

I had 3 estimates for this job. Two of them were from the "budget" chains, and Suburban Window Fashions was the third, and ended up being the lowest estimate. Doug was very accommodating in scheduling a time to show us samples, and arrived promptly. Since these condo units had concrete ceilings we discussed how the headers would be installed. Based on Doug's suggestions, I was convinced that he had the experience for this job. He also offered color suggestions to match the room decor, which was helpful. When the blinds were ready, he delivered them promptly and installed them in both units with no difficulty. I am very please with the results and would definitely use Suburban Window Fashions again in the future.

Very easy to work with. After I initially contacted Suburban Window Fashsions the owner Doug promptly scheduled a consultation to give us an estimate. Although I would have liked a little more help with asthetic design suggestions (as we struggled to really know what look we were going for), I never felt pushed or rushed into purchasing anything. He brought many samples to work with and was patient with us as we brainstormed. I also liked that Doug offered a few different manufacturers that gave some different price point options so we could fit within our budget. We had an estimated emailed to us later that evening. Once we were ready to move forward, Doug schedule another home visit to finalize details, selections and price and we exchanged a signed contract the next day. Once product was ordered and in, Doug quickly scheduled an installation appointment and was done in a half day. Everything looks great and we are happy with the final product. He was very accomodating with schedules and got things done quickly. The entire process was very smooth - Doug is very responsive, flexible and professional. I would work with them again.

Doug Johnson, the owner, came to my house and showed me samples of many shades and blinds.He explained the features of the different styles and he let me take my time making my decisions. He's a low-key guy, no hard-sell whatsoever which I really liked.He measured all the windows and gave me an estimate and approximate delivery date. I gave him a downpayment and 3-4 weeks later I had him come out to install everything. He came on a Saturday to accomodate my schedule. I am really happy with everything, the shades and blinds look fantastic and are perfect for my newly remodeled home. Overall, it was a pleasant, positive experience.Doug is a top-notch guy and I have been telling everyone I know about him and Suburban Window Fashions.

I contacted Suburban Window Fashions after reading another review on fixing honeycomb blinds on Angie's List. I was actually looking into getting new ones as I didn't know they could be easily restrung. Doug answered my call immediately, made the appointment, was flexible when I needed to move the appointment, and arrived on time. Doug worked quickly and charged the estimated amount. I like that he gave some overall window treatment advice when I asked and didn't try to sell additional goods or services. With his professionalism, I am considering this company for additional work after all.

I originally contacted another company for an estimate for window treatments. Then I checked their rating on Angie's List - only two ratings, one good, one bad. Found Doug on Angie's List and once again, my confirmation that Angie's List is the best source available was confirmed! Doug was extremely patient and came back three times with different options (windows were very large and I was having a difficult time choosing - my fault, not Doug's!) I received the estimate and then changed my mind - again! Throughout the entire process, Doug was always on time, met every appointment and made the best suggestions. It took me eight years to dress up my windows and I could not be happier. The installation went perfect and the end result is absolutely perfect.

The company from whom we bought the shades has since been shrinking and service on the shades requires greater distance to travel and/or expense. Using Angie's List I looked for a better local alternative. I was having trouble on the Angie's List website finding a vendor for the repairs until a staff member sent me a message offering online help. He sent me three names by email. The first one referred me to a specialty shop but I couldn't reach them by the phone number he provided. The second name was Suburban Window Fashions Inc. - Doug Johnson. Doug agreed to come out and we made an appointment for a couple of days later. The charge he quoted was $69 I believe. The day before he arrived we checked several other of the same kind of shades in our house and found two more that neded attention. We thought this would make it more worth his while to come out. Doug arrived, we showed him the shades, and he set to work. He had all 3 fixed in an hour and a half and still only charged us $75 for all three shades! I should add that this is not a brand of shades he carries so we were especially happy that he was willing and able to work on them. Chalk up another great experience using Angie's List! Great - couldn't have been easier.

Doug was on-time for initial estimate visit. He wore disposal booties when he entered our house. He provided many options, offered suggestions, and even called Graber during the visit to determine the color that matched our 2 existing Bali blinds (not replaced). He arranged the installation when the blinds were delivered. He arrived on-time, wore disposable booties, and did a great job installing the blinds. They look great. And when one of the blinds needed adjustment, he was quick to return and rectify the problem. We are very pleased with the whole process.

Doug arrived on-time and performed the repair onsite. The blind was operational again within 20 minutes after his arrival. He's a very personable guy and does good quality work. If I had another repair of if I ever replace our blinds, I would not hesitate to call Doug and give him my business.

We would strongly recommend Suburban Window Fashions and specifically Doug Johnson as they/he was timely, fair, courteous and extremely competent. He kept us advised after ordering the special order shutters, got us a couple of manufacturers discounts and then stayed in touch as things developed due to an error in shipping by the manufacturer. He went so far as to return upon our approval on a Sunday afternoon to complete the installation, which as far as we were concerned was above and beyond normal business practices. We would not hesitate in the future to contact and rehire Suburban Window Treatments and Doug and we strongly urge you to consider them for your window and window treatment needs as we believe you will not be disappointed with their expertise and the value and quality of their work.

Very well. Doug came out and explained our options as we had no idea about cost or quality of blinds. We had no idea on colors so he let us keep the sample book for a few days to help us decide. He did not pressure us at all and that was refreshing. He was very accommodating with scheduling and we appreciated his flexibility.

Doug always showed up on time and very professional. The price is reasonable compared to other Hunt Douglas dealers. We will definately recommand him to our neighbors and friends.

Doug was a pleasure to work with - as I changed my mind several times, he patiently offered suggestions and recalculated my estimate. The product that I finally ordered is beautiful and I am extremely happy with my window coverings. The installation took only a couple of hours - was completed very professionally and my home left clean and neat. Doug was very responsive to my inquiry, was right on time for estimate with many samples. Took his time with us explaining options and measuring. Quote was in my email within two hours. Blinds came in (custom order) exactly when Doug estimated, and he was able to fit our schedule to come out and install just a few days later. Installation was very quick but very well done. no mess at all, and we couldn't be happier with the end result. In fact we had him do another estimate for downstairs windows and placed order for those as well. We will certainly be using Doug for any future needs, as well as recommending to any one that needs window treatments.

I found this company on Angies List and will definitely use them again. One of the strings on my Hunter Douglas blinds broke and I had no idea how to repair it. I called Suburban Window Fashions and received a call back within a short period of time. We played a little phone tag but, once we were able to connect I was able to setup an appt for 2 days away. I have a lengthly commute and flexibility was important to me. Doug was on time and repaired the blind as promised. The service call price is $50, which is very fair. I highly recommend this vendor for blind repair.

He arrived promptly, and very patiently fixed the broken blinds, while explaining how to avoid the problem in future, as well as checking and adjusting other blinds for free.
