I purchased the Angie's List Coupon for Chambers and it worked well, though I am not sure I saved any money. The two men who showed up were punctual, nice, explained the process to me, and fixed the oven without trouble within 30 minutes. The part was a bit pricey, but I don't think that is Chambers' fault. My one complaint is that while they wore booties, they actually wore them in and out of the house as they ran to their truck, rendering the booties pretty useless, and as a result, the really tracked up my carpet. :/

You are correct on the somewhat pricey parts. The manufacturer sets the prices and we have to go through them to get the original equipment manufacturer parts. I am very concerned that our technician did not remove his shoe covers when going in and out of your home. It is even more disconcerting since he was training a newer employee at the time. I will most certainly follow up with my technician personally and remind all of my technicians that the shoe covers we wear in the home are to be used to protect our customers flooring, not to be worn in and out of the home.

No problems. When I called to make the appointment they knew exactly what the problem was and what part they would need. They said LG would pay for the repair even though it was out of warranty. I guess its a well known defect. I tried to follow up with LG but it was a call center and red-tape nightmare so I just paid for it myself. This wasn't Chambers fault, their service was excellent.

They do the warranty work for Lowe's. They sucked. Lowe's stood behind it. They came out five times and I had to miss work while they came out. I told them that I wasn't going to miss anymore work. They would not change their schedule. It was quite an ordeal. They never got it repaired and put over $1000 in to it. In their defense they did call the manufacturer and they were telling them what to do. They were not willing to work with my schedule.

I’m sorry that you had a bad experience. I can certainly understand your frustration. First of all, I would like to clarify that we do not sell extended warranties. I’m not sure what you’re referring to when you say you purchased an extended warranty from Chambers. We do warranty work for Lowes extended warranty along with numerous other warranty companies. They are the ones that dispatch the calls directly into our system. Our company employs 14 technicians and each of them run between eight and twelve calls a day. They also all have families of their own. That is why, when the tickets are scheduled, we attempt to schedule them a normal 8 hour day. Obviously in this business that doesn’t always occur, but they do their best to complete the service call list that they were assigned. The system also sometimes works the other way around and the technicians complete their lists early, sometimes by 1 or 2 pm. That is why we offer a first call of the day, and a last call of the day for the convenience of our customers, on occasion the last call of the day will be 2 PM, other times it may be 7 PM. Other than that, it is impossible to pinpoint a specific time that our service person will be there. To circumvent this process we have our technicians call ahead to let the customer know when they will be arriving at their home. In regards to your service, our company is factory authorized by AO Smith, Asko, Ariston, Bosch, Broan, Dacor, Daewoo, Equator, Fisher-Paykel, Frigidaire, GE, Haier, Insinkerator, LG, Peerless, Speed Queen, Subzero, Thermador, ULine, Viking, WC Woods, Whirlpool, and Wolf. All of our technicians go through factory training several times a year to keep up with the continually changing appliance industry. In your case the factory technical service line was accessed every time and we followed the instructions that we were given. Chambers Services strives to provide all of our customers with exemplary service. Each of our customers is extremely important to us, which is why we are concerned when we hear that you feel that you received anything less than the best service. While we understand your frustration with our scheduling policy, we hope that you understand the nature of our business. Because our technicians need to address the unique issues associated with each different appliance, it is extremely difficult to promise an exact arrival time. We do offer first appointments and last appointments and our technicians call 30 minutes ahead when requested so that our customers are not as inconvenienced and spend as little time waiting or missing work as possible. We always offer these options to each of our customers.

They arrived on time and did a thorough job. However we had 2 supply ducts which are under a sink cabinet. They were unable to get into those because of the tight fit and angles. They also opened the main runs in the crawl space and cleaned those. We took advantage of the $355 special on Angie's list for 12 ducts or less. However I did not realize return air ducts count, and only counted supply ducts. The extra ducts were $15 each, which I thought was reasonable. The equipment they used was an over-sized vacuum and a spinning brush pushed through the duct work.

Although we have provided heating and air conditioning service, installation and repair for more than 25 years, we have only in the past couple of years expanded into the duct cleaning business. Our technicians all went through a 3 day training program to become the best they could possibly be. Your positive feedback shows that we succeeded in our goal. Many consumers don't realize the benefits of having your HVAC equipment cleaned. We suggest having it done every three to five years. In a typical six-room home, up to 40 pounds of dust is created annually through everyday living. Your heating and cooling system is considered the "lungs" of your home. The system takes air in and breathes air out. Simply living in your home generates a great deal of contaminants and air pollutants. These contaminants are pulled into the HVAC system and re-circulated 5 to 7 times per day, on average. Over time, these contaminants accumulate in the duct work. Duct cleaning is especially beneficial to those with allergies or other respiratory health conditions. Provided multiple proposals for different systems with options included within each proposal. I chose the XC25 Lennox and corresponding heater system due to efficiency and energy savings projections. Options I chose was the humidity control and top rated air filtration system. I also opted for the new hot water system which was replacing one 40gal tank with two 50 gal tanks linked with a circulation pump. They waited for all equipment to arrive and then scheduled the installation to start July 30, 2014 with an expectation of taking 2 days to complete. They arrived on time at 8 am and began work after each worker personally introduced themselves. They kept me informed of the progress throughout the day and I was extremely excited as the first day ended they explained they had completed the A/C portion so my family would have a cool night's sleep. Second day also started on time the same introductions occurred with any new workers. I was asked to be involved in the set-up of the thermostat to be connected to my wireless system in the house enabling me to control the system remotely with my computer, ipad, and phone. The company completed all the required paperwork with the utility companies requesting energy rebates. If there was a picture dictionary you could see Bratchers picture next to the word "professionalism". If you are searching for an Air and Heating Company expecting superior customer satisfaction then this should company is your best selection.

Description of Work: Bought a used washer from this company, lasted for a few months and died. Called them to fix it and ended up costing more to fix than what I bought it for. As a general rule, if a clothes dryer is heating but taking two or three cycles to dry the clothes, it is most likely a plugged vent or some sort of restriction of air flow. A part on my new dryer broke and I was not able to use it until it was fixed. Chambers did not make me a priority due to it being warranty work. It took them over a week to look at my dryer to see what part they needed to fix. The part took 2 weeks to get in. Then I had to wait another week for them to schedule me, again, to come out and fix it. That's a month without a dryer! I had to call every couple of days to keep on them to get the dryer fixed.

All of the manufacturers and extended warranty companies set the amount that they will pay our company to provide service to the customers that they refer to us. Those amounts do not reflect "same day" or "priority" calls. For the most part with a few exceptions, our technicians are booked out with 8 to 10 calls every day, so same day service without being reimbursed is not a viable option. As far as your other concerns regarding the time it took to schedule the initial and return visit as well as the amount of time it took to get the part, I would like to speak with you personally regarding these complaints. Brand new refrigerator with six attempted repairs (and several new parts) by seller. Finally fed up, we contacted Whirlpool directly. They recommended Chambers and a technician was sent out within two days. Lucas was polite, professional, and very knowledgeable. He was in contact with Whirlpool throughout the repair process and the trouble was quickly diagnosed. Unfortunately, another new part would be required and I was not willing to have a rebuilt refrigerator. Whirlpool finally agreed to replace my appliance. I would not hesitate to call Chambers for any future appliance repairs. Thank you Chambers for your excellent service (including your Customer Service Rep). 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had just moved into this house in July, and I was having a problem during a stretch of very hot weather where my AC could not keep up, and was running constantly, without ever reaching the target temperature I had my thermostat set to. I called Chambers, and they sent a technician out the next morning. Lucas came, and determined that my AC unit was low on freon. The unit was 19 years old, and we could tell from a maintenance sticker, that freon had been added 1 year earlier. Lucas told me he could add freon, which would cost around $500, but the fact that freon had also been added the previous year was a sign that there was probably a leak in the system, and he could not guarantee it would fix the problem. Based on the age of the unit, I asked for prices to replace the unit. Lucas gave me some rough estimates, and since I expressed an interest in pursuing replacement, he called the owner Rob to come out and talk to me. Rob arrived within the hour, and he showed my the various options. Based on the age of my AC and furnace, I opted to replace both with higher efficiency models. I had company coming the next day, so I told them I really needed this taken care of. Between 10 am and 4 pm that same day, Rob and his crew completely replaced my furnace, AC, and thermostat. The system works great now, and they did a wonderful job of cleaning up when they were done. Everyone I had contact with was professional, polite, and helpful. I feel like Rob and his team really went the extra mile to make sure I had a working system in a very short time frame. I was very please with their service.

Thank you for your positive review. Many people don't realize that the long time standard refrigerant used in air conditioners is being phased out by the federal government. This has caused a significant jump in the price of R-22 refrigerant. Only a few years ago, we were able to purchase tanks of R-22 for forty or fifty dollars. Today our cost is more than five times that amount. So, when an air conditioning system has a leak that can't be repaired, it is likely more cost effective to install a new system with a more eco-friendly refrigerant such as 410A.

Description of Work: I purchased a Bosch dishwasher from Lowe's in August of 2012. Within two months after installation, a mechanism in the door closing system broke. I called first Lowe's to check with them and they referred me to Chambers Service as the people who do their warranty work. I called them and they scheduled a service call right away. Andy, their tech. came out, checked out the problem and said he'd have to order a part and come back. Several days later, I had a call saying the part was in and they needed to schedule the repair. Today Andy came out. In the process of pulling out the dishwasher, he hit the on button and the dishwasher began filling up with water. Then he proceeded to tip it over at a 45 degree angle and water began pouring out onto my floor. He seemed unconcerned about the water pouring out and asked me for a towel. I got a large towel and sopped up the water best I could. Then I mentioned my concern about his tipping the appliance as he held it with only one hand and used the other one to work on the machine. I offered to hold the dishwasher to assure it wouldn't fall. He said no that he had a firm grip on it and that he does this all the time. Well, eventually, it fell into my brand new stove and cabinets! When I bacame upset about that happening he just said, "it was an accident" to which I said, no it was so avoidable and that I had offered to hold it. As if this wasn't enough, then suddenly a loud pop and light flashed somewhere under and behind the dishwasher and he very calmly said he's blown a fuse with some sort of electrical problem. At this time, I asked him to just stop, leave and I'd have someone else come out. He said, "I'm the best they have" and continued working, saying he was about finished. When I said he would be responsible for any damage to the stove, he alluded to the fact that perhaps scratches might have already been on it. NO. The stove was only two months old and in like new condition. The entire service call was a horror and I would NEVER call them on my own. I will be contacting Bosch and Lowe's about having a different company do their warranty work if in the future I need other service. When I called the Chambers, I got little satisfaction. Owner was "unavailable" and office manager defended the technician as if she hadn't heard a word I had said.

This company doesn't give up!!! My repair guy (Justin) was so nice and told me every step of the way, what was being fixed. It was not his fault that my oven wouldn't cooperate. The first company I called CHARGED me for warranty work. I will never recommend them to anyone. They were rude at all points. Chambers is fantastic. So easy to work with. They truly understand that your appliances are NEEDED on a daily basis. They worked to fix my problem and it wasn't easy to figure out!!They even require their employee to put on paper booties when they enter your house. I live in the country and he easily could have tracked in rocks and dirts, but I had no mess to clean, at all. I have told other people about this part of their service and they are astonished at the care and thought they put into serving the customer.
Description of Work: Repaired my Oven finally!!! He had to contact the manufacturer to figure out the problem. He had tried on 3 other trips to repair this oven with different parts. None of them were the right thing. Well it might have been right for a short time.. but it didn't last. I called the Whirlpool Repair Center and they talked to him directly. Between the 2 of them.. they figured it out. It is not a common repair. The part had to be ordered. He had done everything right up to this point. But my oven just would not give up the heat!! I am not sure of the part that was finally ordered.. but it worked!!! AND it was all covered under warranty, so I paid nothing for all of these trips and parts. Please do not hesitate to call Chambers Services Inc. for any appliance repair!!!

Our company provides annual furnace and air conditioning inspections for those customers that feel that they are needed. These inspections include checking for CO leaks at the furnace as well as many other tests and checks on both units. We also have a duct cleaning service to clean out the inhabitants that accumulate there over time. These two services have the potential of extending the life of your HVAC system and most manufacturers advise a furnace inspection at the beginning of fall and an air conditioning inspection in the spring of every year.

I thought it went fine and submitted a report indicating that the technician from Chambers told me my SubZero was in fact broken and that the parts needed to replace it had been discontinued. Therefore, I would need to purchase a new refrigerator. I submitted a report indicating the above. However, the day after the tech left, the refrigerator started working again. I called Chambers and asked that the tech return my call as the refrigerator was working but it was obvious the control regulator was in need of repair or replacement. Something that was not mentioned to me at all when the tech was out. He did not return my call. I called two more times within a two week period, leaving messages with the office to have the tech call me so we could discuss this new issue. He still did not return my call. I finally gave up and called Staats Service in Creve Coeur, Il for a second opinion. Brandon from Staats came out the next day. I told him my story, he did a lot of diagnostic tests and ran some "stuff" through the system and FIXED IT! He also told me the parts are not discontinued and even if it begins acting up again, it can in fact be repaired. He was very thorough, knowledgeable, and precise with his service. I had also checked with SubZero and they too told me the parts were in fact available. The Chambers guy finally did call back. After telling him my story he still stood by his original diagnosis that it is broken and the parts are not available. Long story short~Chambers really dropped the ball on this one and Staats did a great job.

He did a fine job. I thought he was a bit expensive. He did a fine job in fixing the oven. He fixed it in one trip. He showed up and he had the parts in his truck. He told me exactly how much it would cost. He put the parts and it worked fine. He was quick and efficient. He was pleasant and well mannered. He did a good job. He fixed it. He didn’t make a mess. He was on his way. I was pleased with his service. I would use him in the future.
Description of Work: I used Chambers Services Inc for large appliance repairs. They repaired my oven probably on 15th September.

They are very responsive and he gave us tips on how to make appliances last longer. The prices are high but I think they do good work. I would only use them again if I had to because of their prices.

Overall I was pleased with the work that Chambers provided. They were punctual and very professional. In the end, they did a good job repairing the refrigerator. Certainly I would have liked to have had the refrigerator fixed correctly the first time. However, Chambers was very good about responding to that and they did not charge me extra for the 2nd service call and repair.
Description of Work: Refrigerator was not working. Called Chambers to repair. Chambers came, diagnosed, and repaired the refrigerator. They left specific instructions on what to do post repair. After following directions the refrigerator still did not work. I called Chambers and they immediately followed up and made an additional repair at no charge. Refrigerator works great now.

Description of Work: Chambers laborer called to confirm approximate arrival at house. Arrived on time. Service call for heater. Checked out heater came to conclusion it needed a new control panel. Called on the part....overheard cost at $138 for new control panel. Installer than proceeded to inform that it was a very expensive part....$230.00 and with labor would be $329.00 to replace it. We than inquired what it would take to install...just rewiring not too difficult.We than thanked the installer and said we would purchase the part and do it ourselves . He proceeded to tell us we wouldn't be able to get the part without a license....and he could get it right away and do it now for the $329.00. So we said ok. He proceeded to go get the part replaced it and than gave us a bill for $387.00. We than questioned the $ and he said he had to add the service fee to that and we said you told us $329.00......We paid and called the office....no owner around for us to speak to and the young lady argued with me for 15 min. saying thats how we charge.....my argument wasn't with how they do it but what they tell you .The installer gave me a total of $329.00 . I would not recommend anyone using a company that has hidden or unexplained charges. I was very unhappy with the NO customer service i recieved and would not recommend Chambers Services. I will be calling the BBB . If i could have waited and checked Angie's list in the first place i would have found out they had a "D" rating !!

I called, they were here the next day, The young man came into my home, put on shoe covers to protect my floors, and evaluated the dishwasher as it ran for a few minutes. He was able to pick some debris out of the bottom of the unit, broken glass, coffee grounds. He was concerned about the amount of suds that were at the bottom of the unit eventhough it was running without soap in it. It was suggested that I use far less soap and a glass shine product was recommended. It was also strongly recommended that I get a dishwasher cleaner product and run that through a cycle or two. It really wasn't recommended that he take any other action, since taking the unit apart and cleaning out the insides, would cost more than my 6 year old dishwasher is worth. I am satisfied and will get the dishwasher cleaner. This really should take care of the major part of the problem.
Description of Work: I have been having trouble with the performance of my Maytag dishwasher, i.e, debris and crumbs still on glasses and cups after the wash. The technician came out and, pretty much as I suspected, my dishwasher probably has a buildup of debris in the water line and in the filters that come into and out of the unit due to our water/well. Many of the water jet holes were also clogged with debris...turns out, the best plan is to simply run a dishwasher cleaner through the unit a couple of times and try to get the holes unclogged. The young man was very professional, put on shoe covers to protect my hardwood floors before he came in and explained everything to me in detail. I was simply charged for the service call and told what products to buy to clean the dishwasher out. Very satisfied!
