Emilia's Cleaning Inc

Emilia came to house to review what my requirements were and introduced who would be coming on a regular basis. Emilia is available to discuss any changes or comments I may have of my house cleaner.

For the past two years, we have used Emilia's cleaning every two weeks, and more often when we are hosting an event or have company to stay. Our house is pretty large and we have two children under the age of 6 and a very destructive and energetic Irish setter puppy. To be frank, our place can be a nasty nightmare. Kathy (and the others who substitute for her from time to time) never complains and always does a very thorough job. They are unscrupulously honest. (We sometimes leave cash or other valuables lying around and never think twice about it.) The place is always spotless. Also, the cleaning professionals never damage the finishes of our new house (gut rehabbed in 2010), which is important to us. We have a lot of glass and other surfaces that could be destroyed by the use of the wrong sponge or cleaning agent, but we have never seen any damage. We're happy customers.

We've been using Emilia's Cleaning for a couple years now and couldn't be happier. Emilia is extremely responsive and communicative, all the cleaners speak great English. Over the years we've had three or four regular cleaners come to the house and for the past year and a half we've had our favorite, K. She is on time and conscientious (and our dog loves her). She also has the right mix of "chatting" and getting down to work. To get started, Emilia came to the house and we went over instructions, needs and cleaning preferences. Since then, our requests have always been granted. I've also used Emilia's to clean my workplace on occasion and only wish we had a bigger cleaning budget to continue. We highly recommend Emilia's Cleaning.

I'm not actually home when they arrive, but one of the nice things I have noticed is that they take the time to pile my daughters stuffed animals and babies on her bead is a cute way. I'm happy to have a clean home to return to and as of now have no complaints.

Some highlights of our great experiences with Emilla's: We are renting our condo in the city and there was extensive water/plumbing damage. Emilia came in with a team as soon as we were able to clean the condo and make it habitable so our tenants would be able to move back in that evening. They did a beautiful job and we were so grateful for Emilia's flexibility in making it happen as soon as the construction crew was done! We asked Emilia's to come out and clean our townhouse before we moved in. It was a foreclosure and had been sitting vacant for 6 months. Emilia's was able to make everything clean! We have three floors and do not use the top floor as often so Emilia's was willing to clean the top floor every other visit and charge us less on the weeks where they only clean the bottom two floors. Our dog got grass stain our bathtub and Emilia's brought in a variety of cleaning supplies to attack the grass stain. I tried everything I had with no luck but Emlia's was able to get it out! She has the same person come to your house so that you can consistently know what is being done and how it is being done. We are very pleased with how clean our house is!

Emilia was very pleasant on the phone and in her email contacts. Very accommodating in scheduling and working with us through the holidays to arrange the 2nd and 3rd cleaning visits. (See above for the description of services.)

Emilia came out very quickly to give me an estimate. She was friendly, professional and answered all of my questions. Her estimate was fair. She sent 2 women to clean the first week and see how it went (how long it took them and if I liked them). It went very well and I hired them to do bi-weekly cleaning of my house. They speak English, are very professional, prompt and thorough. They are very helpful and responsive (if I ask them to do something differently they say "no problem!" with a nice cheerful attitude.) It only takes them less than 2 hours to do the job. It makes me so happy when I come home from work after they have been there because the house looks so nice! I have appreciated Emilia's quick response to emails as well (when I need something extra or to change the schedule) she writes back quickly and does her best to help me out. I liked her so much I referred her to my mom and now my mom uses this service to clean her apartment!

Called Emilia on Friday before my Saturday move-out. She arranged for one of her cleaners to do a full move-out cleaning. She did an excellent job on short notice. My new tenant was impressed at how clean the unit was and has already told me he's going to use Emilia's in the future.

Setting up the appointments was quite easy, they were never any issues with scheduling. The cleaning women who came to our house were very pleasant and professional. Cleaning of the house went very well for the initial whole house cleaning. The follow ups were good also, but since they were only 4 hours they were not as thorough as what we could have used. We do have a large house, though, so I do think Emilia's did a very good job for the price/hours provided.

Had them in to do a move-in cleaning because they work on Sundays, and we wanted to get it cleaned before the movers came. The sellers had the house cleaned the day before, so it's hard to evaluate the work since much of the major cleaning had been done and we were just walking in ourselves. They stayed for five hours and cleaned the inside of the refrigerator and dishwasher as well. I might have preferred a more thorough cleaning of the walls of the rooms we were about to paint, but that kind of dirt is hard to see, and they dug up and cleaned a mountain of dust and detritus that the previous cleaners had missed in one of the bedrooms. They were friendly and professional.

It took awhile to schedule Emilia's Cleaning crew since, after their coupon offer, they were overwhelmed with business. Once scheduled, they arrived on time but were not prepared to work right away as they had limited supplies of their own so we had to provide them with extra cleaning products, sponges, cleaning towels, rags, etc. Two people were sent and for some reason, shortly after they arrived, they deemed it reasonable that they take a lunch break and afterward thought it made sense to work on the same areas of the house at the same time which meant only half the work was getting done in the allotted time. While cleaning the kitchen, they did not use hot enough water on the dishes or in cleaning the marble counters which resulted in the dishes not being thoroughly cleaned and the countertop were smeared and still dirty. They half-heartedly swept and mopped the hardwood floors which resulted in corners still having dirt and dust in them as well as several areas that were simply untouched by a broom or mop. The same incomplete cleaning approach continued throughout the rest of the areas of the house and when it was time for them to leave, not only did they attempt to short out time by 15 minutes, they rudely complained to us that if we wanted them to do anything else with the "extra" time we wanted, it would need to be something like making a bed or cleaning another sink or something quick. Ultimately they left without finishing the job. In all, our house was not cleaned properly or completely.

We have used Emilia's for our house cleaning for over two years. We couldn't be happier. Emilia is easy to deal with, and Monika does an exemplary job cleaning our house every two weeks. The cleaning is quite thorough with great attention to detail. Monika often leaves a little note on our refrigerator for our 4-year-old using his magnets, which we always enjoy. We highly recommend Emilia's Cleaning.

Scheduling was easy. Cleaners arrived on time. Finished slightly early. Basic cleaning job completed. Definitely did not go abbé or beyond but got the job done.

The employee was very punctual. We provided all the cleaning supplies. She asked us what area we wanted her to focus on. In four hours, she practically cleaned the entire house! Great job and attention to detail.

I have been having my house cleaned for the past three years. I would rank this encounter in the bottom 10% of housecleaning experiences. I saw high ratings for Emilia and thought I would try out her services. However, I will be returning to my former housecleaning company. Things started off great with Emilia's. She is easy to contact via email, patient with scheduling difficulties, and friendly throughout. However, my experience was the cleaning could not have been any more different. During the scheduled cleaning time, I needed to come home to grab something. I noticed that it had only been two hours past the scheduled time, which I thought was unusual for the $220 deep cleaning I had scheduled. I looked around and noticed that a few parts of the deep cleaning did not appear to have been completed including. --outside of cabinets did not appear to have been cleaned --baseboards did not appear to have been cleaned --windows did not appear to have been cleaned --underneath of bed and furniture did not appear to have been cleaned --furniture does not appear to have been vacuumed --blinds did not appear to have been hand washed --no list of cleaning supplies for future visits was left I figured that the housekeepers had mistakenly done a standard cleaning instead of a deep cleaning, so I contacted Emilia. She said there must be a big misunderstanding and suggested that I speak with the person who completed the cleaning. This cleaning lady did stop by and speak with my partner, but Emilia did not accompany her. My partner walked the cleaning lady around and showed her the areas that did not appear to have been cleaned. During the encounter, my partner noticed that she seemed nervous and defensive, so he tried to make her feel comfortable--we just wanted to make sure that either (a) the expected cleaning was completed or (b) we only needed to pay for what had been done. She said they had come early and two of them were there for 3 hours. She also offered to take $30 off of our bill making the new total $190, which still seemed high given that Emilia charges $25/hr for deep cleaning and they were there for 6 person hours ($150 worth of work). I informed Emilia about the hours of work performed and asked that I only be expected to pay a reasonable rate for the work. However, she still charged me $190. Both Emilia and the maid were not friendly and accommodating anymore though, so we just paid the $190. I would have much rather just had them come to finish the work that was supposed to have been done. I have had much better experience with other maid companies and will be returning to them.

The cleaning woman arrived on time. I had shown her around the house, explaining that I wanted her to focus on cleaning the bathrooms and the kitchen. If there was time left, then the other rooms of the house. She got right to work in the kitchen. Unfortunetly, she didn't understand completely, after explaining to her, that I needed her to ONLY use my cleaning products and special rags in the home, due to my children's severe allergies and asthma. I had to stop her several times from using her own caustic chemicals. After several hours she showed me the kitchen, which looked beautiful, and said that she was finished. I thanked her and gave her a nice tip. After she left, I walked around the house and found that the ONLY rooms that she cleaned, in about 4 hours, were the kitchen and the laundry room. She hadn't touched the bathrooms, which I had specifically asked her to clean, and she had cleaned the laundry room, which I had mentioned to clean ONLY if she had the extra time. I also found that after she left, one of my special rags for cleaning, which are not cheap, due to the antimicrobial abilities, was missing as well. I will not ask Emilia's to clean our home again, as my requests were not listened to or downright ignored. It does not take 4 hours to clean my kitchen. I clean it often. I will not hire Emilia's to clean our home again.

I was very pleased with the results so I have since hired them to clean my house regularly. Emilia is very easy to work with for scheduling and she very prompt to reply if necessary. They are very detailed and have listened to all my requests.

I think the cleaning service was overwhelmed with the demand from the coupon sale because the woman who cleaned the house seemed quite worn out. She missed a few key dusty areas and dirty bathroom areas. To be honest, I think they might be a fine cleaning service, but just couldn't handle all of the requests for cleaning offered for the coupon. It made me leery of the coupon process.

I paid for one of the deals, 16 man hours for $150. I think it was a good deal, a very fair price. There have been a few glitches (unreturned phone call, I had to call twice) (they arrived 1/2 hour early, I wasn't quite ready for them). The first time was 2 ladies for 4 hours, they did a decent job. The second time one lady was sick, we had one lady for four hours I think she could have accomplished more than she did. (I asked her to do all downstairs and upstairs at least the 2 bathrooms, she did not even get upstairs at all, we have 1900 sq ft, it is definitely feasible to at least get to the bathrooms in four hours).
