Description of Work: Rafal (owner of RK Roofing) and his team did a great job on the asphalt shingle tear-off for my 2-story single family home in (Logan Square) Chicago. They also installed new mushroom caps, a ridge-vent and moved a downspout at our request. | |I researched Angie's List for quality roofers and called a couple of A-listers in late September. Most of them respectfully declined the work and said they couldn't get to it until next year. This was fairly risky to us since we were in need of a new roof before winter (signs of shingle deterioration and possible leaks developing). Rafal thought he would be able to get to our job in November depending on the weather. We had several conversations about where our job was in his pipeline and he was realistic in when they could get to us. The first couple of weeks in November's were not ideal for roofing and it looked as if we'd be stuck until spring for a new roof. In the interim, he was able to finish the other jobs he committed to and ours was next on the list. There looked like there was going to be a break in the weather after Thanksgiving and they started work the day after. They finished in three days, found two small leaks and repaired the decking underneath. The team worked fast and stayed late into the day/evening. The crew was professional, prompt and polite throughout the process. They did a fantastic job cleaning up each day and did a thorough walkthrough when they were finished. | |I'd recommend this company for anyone looking for a new roof. I'm not an easy sell either. We've worked with many contractors before who usually under-deliver and we're left with sub-standard quality. Not so with RK Roofing. Rafal is easy to work with and will respond pretty quickly. | |Bit of caution, schedule ahead of time if you want to get it done before next winter. We were a bit lucky that a window of opportunity opened up and they worked through some difficult conditions to get it done (wind, cold and steep pitched roof). | |Great job, we're very happy with the results! |

Description of Work: R. K. Roofing replaced my roof, installed new aluminum over my soffits and eaves and installed new gutters. They were very responsive and accommodating. They did a great job.

Description of Work: I purchased a Big Deal for $299 for $350 worth of roof repairs and inspection. Two men arrived for the appointment and they were here for a few hours. They came in and did some repairs. They explained that whoever had previously installed the flashing had not completed it right on the chimney and other areas. He went into the rooms to see where we had water damage. He explained to me in detail what the other company. The technicians did a very good job.

Description of Work: The provider was very upfront and said that he could not complete the work due to the nature of my roof and suggested that I request a refund.

Description of Work: The service provider was prompt in returning our call and gave us an estimate. Unfortunately, our roof was much larger than the offer covered. We have had to postpone the job in order to do other work first.

Description of Work: Repairs on my house roof and a new roof for the garage. I received an estimate on a Tuesday and they tried to accomodate me the very next day in the afternoon and they were able to finish the job. I truly appreciated that.

Description of Work: My roof needed a complete tear off and replacement. I contacted 4 different roofing contractors to get estimates and proposals. RK Roofing was neither the cheapest or the most expensive, but they were the most willing to discuss options and price. They told me they would start the job between 1 to 3 weeks. They started it at the beginning of the second week. I didn't realize that the attic had to be emptied because of the dirt from the tear-off (I am a pack-rat) and a young man from the crew helped me empty it. Unfortunately, the man stepped through the ceiling (my attic is only partly floored) Luckily he wasn't hurt. Not only did RK do an excellent job on the roof but the damage to my bedroom ceiling was repaired to my satisfaction. Raphael, the owner, is very forthcoming and open about the proposal, and his crew was polite and hard-working. I can highly recommend them.
