They took the job even though they don't know how to do flat roofs, and never at any point started that they don't know how to do flat roofs until after I called to complain about water leaking in my closet. The contract states tear off old roof and install new shingles. He did not honor the contract. He didn't reroof the entire roof, and only reshingled the flat roof. The contract and request was for a new roof over the entire house. Of the Leake he asked why it just now started leaking, and suggested maybe a branch fell on it. It did not seem he ever intended to honor the warranty. His first response was "I didn't do the back" when I called about the leak and told him the location. I requested a partial refund, and he started that he would wait till he's served -- boasting that a lawsuit will take a year.

Very Well! The owner responded quickly to call’s/text. They are very neat and cleaned up afterwards.

RK Roofing was there when they were suppose to be. Some extra work needed to be done. I needed a upstairs bathroom roof vent installed. They put in the vent and also hooked up the roof vent to the upstairs bathroom exhaust pipe. The crew was friendly, answered any questions. Finished on time. Also they were very thorough to clean around the house so no garbage or nails. The quote was very reasonable.

Excellent experience, right on time, all questions answered promptly. I got a great deal on both my new tear off roof and my new oversized gutters. Thanks Jerry I couldn't be happier.

I contacted R.K. Roofing to ask them to help with some minor roof repairs (gutters, vent stack pipe) and to ask them to assess the current condition of the roof. At every step of the way Jerry was responsive, communicative, and honest. He gave me an honest assessment of the roof's remaining life and didn't at all try to pressure me into any unneeded work - he and his crew also identified a small leak near one of the attic vents that could have become a much bigger problem and fixed it professionally and affordably. I will definitely go with R.K. Roofing again for my future roofing needs - no problems whatsoever, just a straightforward, positive experience from start to finish.

Communication with owner was prompt and courteous. Work crew was fast, thorough and paid attention to clean-up. Price was the lowest of three quotes.

Jerry was very transparent from the start with an incredibly quick quote. I was kept up to date on all scheduling and work being complete. They were adaptive to some suprise weather, and worked hard to get the job complete once they could resume. Would not hesitate to recommend!

Contractor came by promptly to examine the roof, followed up by a concise proposal of work to be done with a reasonable price. Upon acceptance by owner, satisfactory work was done shortly thereafter; followed by an invoice at the agreed upon price.

All in all, it went very well. We had a couple of minor delays due to weather and my being out of town for a couple of days, but they still finished the work in a reasonable amount of time. I was very happy with the quality of the work.

Working with RK Roofing was a very good experience. The owner, Jerry is very responsive and respectful. Returned all the phone calls promptly. Asked only for a small deposit on a roof replacement and once the contract was signed and deposit was given we were given a project start date. The start date was only missed by one day due to weather. The owner has his own employees. He does not sub contracts the work. The workers were very diligent and professional. Work was done in 2 days. No issues so far. Nothing blew away. No leaks. The workers have a great working relationship, it is a father and son-in-law team. They take pride in their work. There were couple things that were not planned for such as a few new vents and a new chimney, but we are glad we decided to follow the recommendations because if you decide to invest in a new roof, you should do it right so you don't have to worry about replacing a chimney or ventilation later. What we really enjoyed is the service, quality of workmanship and quality of materials. Our reason for choosing rk roofing were all the positive reviews on angie's list and we were not disappointed. We also enjoyed the fact that we received an invoice electronically and were not hassled to make the payment right away. We paid the bill in full promptly, but it was nice to have that extra breathing room to think about the job and look at everything.

Power attic roof ventilator was replaced with skill & efficiency. Roof shingles needed to be removed & the workers were prepared with color matched shingles to replace the shingles that were removed. All of my questions were addressed politely & professionally, the worker knew alot about the fan & roofing. Excellent work done at the price that was contracted. This is the second time I have contracted this company, last year they replaced my garage roof which was also done excellently & efficiently at the promised price.

Excellent. Workers came, very efficient and seemed to do a great job. Two days and clean up was excellent and the end of each day. Crew of 3 worked well together and got job done in a most efficient manner. Jerry, the owner, was very good to work with. He helped coordinate roof venting with the solar installers as well and did a great job of doing that so that my roof can eventually get a decent solar system. Previously, the vents would have got in the way of the solar system, but he suggested and put in an Edge Vent which coordinates well with the installation of a solar system and also provides good venting for roof. Was very happy with the job that was done, well priced, good communication about job and very patient in working on coordinating with the solar system as well. Jerry had previously replaced my garage gutter system and was very happy with that and did not hesitate to contact RK Roofing when needed new roof and am very happy with the new roof.

RK Roofing did a great job, and they gave me the best price in town. I was skeptical because the price was too good to be true but after reading many good reviews I decided to go ahead with the project. I live on the south side of Chicago by midway airport, and there’s a lot of roofing companies in this area, but RK roofing beat them and some of the big names out there. Definitely recommend them.

RK Roofing did a great job to fix a leak in my roof. They were honest and charged a fair price. I would highly recommend them and would use them again for any future roofing projects.

Very very good, hardest working men I have seen in a long time

I contacted RK Roofing after getting a bunch of quotes that were not bad (and one that was terrible--looking at you, Feldco). The owner Jerry promptly contacted me and was able to get the quote done very quickly. The quote was incredibly reasonable, especially for a company that had such a great Angie's List rating. When they came to do the work, the crew leader Greg was a really nice guy and did a great job of communicating any extra work that needed to be done. They also took care of some various things that were wrong, like a vent that went to nowhere, a broken fan, and added some more mushroom vents for not much extra (and there will always be extra in any roofing project). One other small thing that I appreciated was that, at the end of the work, they just left and sent me an invoice in the mail; there wasn't any pressure to give them a check right then and there. Given that roofing is usually a really expensive repair and you're often pulling together money from different sources, I just thought that was an extra nice touch. Highly recommend.

Competitively priced, importantly had workers' comp insurance, and completed job in reasonable time, considering necessary delays due to stormy weather conditions.

R K Roofing is completely an excellent company to hire for your new roof . The use the highest quality roofing material and the price was the best . The owner is a roofing professional and a gentleman. He crew workers are the hardest working men I ever seen and it was very hot out and humid. After the roof was installed and completed they cleaned up so well it was like they were never there. I will recommend them to all my friends and neighbors for roofing projects. They are awesome!

Great! Jerry’s team did a complete tear off and roof replacement and provided a ten year parts and labor warranty per our quote requirements.(see our previous review from 2017). At that time we reserved our judgement awaiting the test of time. Since then we had a couple minor concerns. First some dripping from our new skylight over the winter of 2018/19. Owner Jerry was helpful, responsive and whenever we made contact. That dripping problem we learned was only condensation during the 24-30 below zero temps we suffered. Nothing was really wrong. More recently, we found some shingles had raised edges at the ridges after high winds and storms. In both cases R K came out and addressed the issues with complete friendly professionalism. That’s why we give them all As and heartily recommend them. We believe they were our best choice for a new roof or repairs.

Jerry and his crew did a wonderful job. professionalism at it's best. My roof was just coming apart from age and bad weather. The guys did any excellent job in cleaning up around the job site. Shingles look amazing, best price I received, they even did some shingle repairs on the main house. Will use them again, and highly recommend.
