Champion Windows and Home Exteriors of Chicago

After getting three other quotes I called Champion on the referral from my daughter's mother-in-law. She had her two apartment rental property window replacements through Champion, and was very happy with them. She told me if something goes wrong they come out to make it right. Tony the sales rep came to my house to see what I needed and explained the type of windows and patio door I would be getting. His first quote was over what any of the others had quoted. So Tony asked to see the other proposal and after that he came down more that $2,000. So I decided to go with Champion for the patio door. The next day I went to the Elmhurst, IL showroom and Tony was there to show me the windows and door I would be getting. Tony was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. So I decided to go with Champion for the windows also. On October 29, 2012 two installers were at my house by 9:00 am and began their installation. They were very polite and got to work right away. They followed the lead safety practices and taped plastic around the inside of the windows before they pulled out the old windows.They covered my bushes below the front windows to catch any mess.They worked for about five and a half hours non-stop and completed the job by 2:30 pm. I walked around the outside of the house and the job they did was excellent. Everything was done very neatly. I was worried about the color matching the rest of our house trim, but it matches perfectly. The only time they were in the house was to finish caulking all the windows and put up the door trim on the inside. And they always took off their shoes when they were working inside. I really like the wood door trim around the patio door. It adds a touch of class. When they were finished they cleaned up every scrap and took the old windows with them.There was no evidence that they had been there, except the new windows of course. I would say I had an excellent experience with Champion.

I began my experience with Champion with a trip to the showroom. The salesman I dealt with was thorough in his explanations of everything, from the type of window they use, the styles and options available and even financing options if I needed them. I dealt with a second salesman who specialized in the siding. Again the explanations of the various types and styles available, was thorough and easy to understand. The installation process went well. The installers were professional and completed the work in a timely fashion with minimum disruption to our lives. I wouldn't hesitate to use Champion again. In fact, I've moved to brand new construction and I miss the Champion windows. They provide a quality product at a competitive price.

They did an excellent job. I love it! They were on time - which means a lot. They were very dependable. They pretty much did what they said they would do! The quality of the work was good. If I found something wrong - which was usually a little thing - they'd come right back out & fix it right away. There were no major issues & I was very pleased.

They were very professional. They spent numerous hours with us answering many, many questions about the process, the manufacturing, windows etc. The project was an odd size so everything about it was custom. The building process was flawless. The crew was professional and finished it within the set time frame. There was a concern about the electrical work and it was addressed immediately after I brought it up. The project manager had a good working relationship with myself and the crew. The follow up once the construction was completed to good as well.

Steve in sales was helpful but not pushy. Project manager Josh did field survey answered all questions. Two installers did professional, very timely work. Financing very reasonable.

Great service. Before our doors would not work right and now they do. They did a perfect job. I noticed a different in our gas and heating. Right away! Everything was cleaned up when they left.

Soon after purchasing our house we were surprised to learn that two windows in the basement needed to be replaced quickly. Based on what we identified we immediately began calling around to companies. Champion was the first appointment and based on the initial consultation we hired them for the window replacement. Everything went very smoothly and they even performed a follow-up to ensure we were still happy with the windows and service. Just this fall we had replace some more windows, based on volume and costs we decided to go with another company. We quickly learned the truth in the saying ?You get what you pay for? and we now know going with the other company was a big mistake. This other company?s sales associate sold us windows we did not want and their customer service to help us fix some of the problems we encountered has been horrible. Looking forward we know we still have to replace additional windows and 3 doors, for those we will certainly be calling Champion back. Though Champion is priced a bit higher than a competitor, it will certainly be worth the extra money in going back to get exceptional service and quality products.

Work as performed by Champion or their sub-contractors was uniformly timely and excellent. Champion provided architectural renderings, consulted with us and suggested alternatives when local regulations required that we alter our plans, and obtained all required building permits. All workers, both Champion employees and subcontractors, were prompt, professional, courteous, considerate of our concerns, and were careful to clear the work area of all debris after completion of the work. All work was performed with minimal disruption to our daily routine. All construction materials used were, to our ability to judge, of the highest quality. We have now enjoyed our new patio room for the better part of a year. It is beyond my abilities to express how pleased and happy we are with the room Champion provided for my wife and I. I have no reservations at all in recommending Champion Window of Chicago.

My experience was wonderful with Champion! Jeff Lunde was my contact and he was so understanding and kind. Everyone showed up when they said they would, they cleaned up after themselves, and always called me back. I am knowledgeable in the industry and they did a great job! I can't say enough good things about them!

Very well--this is our second time obtaining products from this company

Quotation went smoothly. I would like to have been told the patio door was going to be 1 inch lower than the existing patio door, but the installer did a excellent job hiding it. Excellent workmanship. Remove existing patio door and took photos. Asked how I wanted the door to be installed, rise half inch at bottom but make a slight tripping hazard or flush at bottom and inch at the top. Filled space with expanding foam and did a good job with external finish and grout. Oak trim that Champion uses looks excellent and matched existing trim after I applied stain. Patio door is excellent with triple locking system so it is secure.

They did an excellent job. You have a lifetime warranty with their work. If something breaks, they fix it free of charge. They are a really great company. Their promptness, their celan up work, everything pertaining to what needed to be done was done so professionally. The only thing we had after the job was this great looking house. I have been very, very pleased. The windows and the doors have all kept the house warmer or cooler as the seasons have changed. I would definitely use them again if I wanted to have something done differently. I would highly recommend them.

They did a marvelous job and everything went smoothly. They had a professional come to my house to measure every window and then the windows were manufactured to those dimensions. The windows were delivered here and then they came out and installed them. The installation went exactly like it should; the windows were fitted and sealed properly and the seals are perfectly intact. I found cheaper windows but not better windows.

The service was very good. They were very easy to work with. They came out to measure and then when they came to do the work it only took them a day for the installation. Everything looks and works good. We are pleased with the product.

Everything went fine. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it! It really changed the style of the front of the house. I like the service I received but when I called to make a change to my order, the salesman had a little bit of an attitude. I got the feeling that service was over after the sale with this person inside the showroom. The people who came out for the installation were great & even the service manager was good. Most of the other companies I check with couldn't work with size of the window I needed & this company could & I appreciated.

The experience went very well. We still have another order that we are waiting to get filled.

I reccommend Champion Windows and Doors in Schererville for their doors. We recently purchased a beautiful door with sidelights. Their showroom has a wide variety of doors to choose from. Installation of our door went smoothly. Their super salesman, Jeff Lundy, helped us immensely.

Overall, things went very well. The sales person was not at all pushy, and listened to what we wanted to have done. The measurer was quick, thorough and efficient, and everyone we dealt with over the phone or crew at the house were very polite. The demonstration of their 365 comfort glass was what really sold us; that energy "barrier" to keep heat in or out as needed is really impressive. We had all our master bedroom windows replaced, which both made the room warmer and more comfortable, as well as a lot quieter than our old windows. The livingroom 3-part picture window didn't even need to have the shutters removed. And the biggest job was cutting through our diningroom wall (brick) to install a new window where there had only been a small section of glass block before. I was surprised at how clean the space was when it was all done; just a fine dusting of plaster powder to Swiffer up. The new window is awesome, and they did a really nice job matching the trim to the livingroom window. I was a little surprised too that this new window went lower than I thought it was going to on the wall, but my husband and I agree that it's actually nicer that way. It took a couple of days for the crew to return to finish out the exterior cladding/trim, but everything was insulated/sealed, and they did a great job of it all. The windows look wonderful inside and out, and we've really noticed the difference in noise reduction, and the fact that on a cold day, you do not feel at all cold standing next to any of the Champion windows. We'd definitely look first to them for any other window replacements.

I love the new windows that were installed. You can clean them from the inside and they are easy to open/close. This is the third time I have used them. The last time they made a mistake when they did the installation (they installed two windows in the wrong location). They came out and provided new windows in the correct location at no cost. I have been very satisfied

There was one thing that was kind of nice. When we ordered the windows we told the guy that we had a dryer vent that needed to go outside so when the guy came to measure, he said that they had a specific window that did that so he actually changed the order a little bit. We thought that was nice that he had enough sense to change that.

We were impressed with the price and quality of the windows in comparison to other windows at the same price point. We liked the fact that the windows were warrantied as well as the installation, that wasn't something we saw at any other company that we priced. The installation process was great. We also had lead paint on our own windows. The price of the lead paint mitigation was included in the price of the window installation, it was not an extra cost as many other contractors have told us it would be. Overall. we had a great experience with Champion and will definitely use them to replace our remaining windows in the distant future, and will get quotes for other products (siding, screenrooms, etc) in the future.

We spent about $20000 for their services. They had a guarantee and their service was really good. They were very careful with the installation and did a good job. When we had some questions and issues, they came back right away to check everything. Then they fixed what needed to be fixed. We sold the house and moved out about a couple of months ago, but the windows were fine. There were too many problems with the windows, but they came back and fixed it. So, the windows have held up very well. I would recommend them to others and I would use their services in the future too.

After getting other estimates and doing a lot of comparison shopping, we went to the Champion showroom and got a demonstration of the windows. We were impressed with the quality of the windows. Yes, we could have bought replacement windows from a big box store and installed them ourselves, but in this case, you get what you pay for. So far, we love the windows. I am impressed with how well they keep the house cool during some of the tropical days we've had. I had the air conditioner on one hot and humid day. I went to a window where the sun was beating down and touched it. It was totally cool. No heat transfer from the outside, unlike our other windows. All of the people with dealt with have been very professional and courteous. The installers were on time and did a quick and efficient job. The second gentleman that came to do the trim work was also very courteous and did a great job. We are having a lot of work done around our house right now and I have been dealing with a lot of contractors and construction men so I have some recent experience with varying degrees of professionalism in this arena. This company was a pleasure to work with. Good service - Good product. If you are looking for windows, I suggest you shop around and educate yourself on what's available and then call Champion. I think you'll be impressed.

It was a very good job and a very good price. They were very professional and the workers that came were very professional. They worked hard and came on time. They stayed late to finish the job. We were very happy with them. Another woman in the neighborhood had her siding done when she walked by and saw what a good job they did. They were very patient with us when we couldn't decide what color we wanted. They brought back samples for us. They were very good. They came out and gave an estimate. We had several other estimates done and they called back to see how we were doing but they were not pushy about it. They were very accommodating and we would highly recommend them. They had the best price of all the estimates.

It was a big ticket item for us so we got several estimates. Champion got the work because the installers would be their own employees and not a subcontractor. We didn't want to have a fight on our hands between a contractor and business over whose fault it was if something was defective. Champion came when they were supposed to, installed a quality product and left the place as they found it. We did have to call for an adjustment because one screen needed additional work and a few windows needed an adjustment. We got a guarantee for as long as we own the home which is transferrable for 1 year to the next owner when we do sell. I was very satisfied and would recommend them.
