Description of Work: scheduled an appointment. got a confirmatory email. Took a half day off of work. After 30 minutes of waiting, I called company. they don't have appointments on the day that was scheduled. Worst customer service. Would never work with them.

Description of Work: Champion was the only company that offered built-in dog doors in a three-pane patio door. We engaged them in Sept 2014 to have our old door replaced with the goal of having the work done before the weather changed. The order was placed and took nearly three months until install - the day of the install the weather was 17 degrees. While understanding that this was a special order item, I never got any calls with updates, and never got a return call from calls I made - all I got were promises to check into the order. (At one time I was told that my order was shipped from Colorado to Wisconsin in error and was lost.) The door was well installed and we like it a lot, but the experience with their front office and their logistics was a nightmare.

Description of Work: They replaced my front. They were prompt and delivered the door when promised. The men were professional and know what they were doing. They left the area clean and made sure I was satisfied. This the third item we have purchased from them and they are always professional and neat.

Description of Work: replace kitchen window, however the first installers did a sloppy job, I had to call the company to complain about the poor job the installer did, and I've got a quick response from manager he came to my house and agreed it was a poor job. he promised he'll redo it for me and he did, I give that man a thumbs-up.

+ -1 moreWe chose this company based on Angie's list reports, government ratings of window efficiency and our experience with the sales staff. Everyone was very responsive and always showed up when they said they would. It was a huge job and much of it was done on cold and snowy days. The workmen were very clean and efficient and did a very good job. When we had a few problems, we were skeptical about getting them resolved, but in fact everything was taken care of as quickly as possible. They came back several times and never complained, only saying to call right away if we have any problems in the future. The windows look wonderful and our heating bill has dropped much more than we expected.
Description of Work: We had all the windows in our home replaced along with a sliding patio door and the front double storm door. The job included removing and replacing all the molding around the windows as well. We have quite a lot of windows, and our salesman suggested that we could save some money if we were interested in changing the narrow fixed windows into larger picture windows. We did this and the result is beautiful, much better than what we had before.

+ 0 moreTHE CREW WAS LATE THE FIRST DAY. I HAD CALLED THE OFFICE AND THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE ON THE WAY. WHEN I MET THE FOREMAN, HE THEN EXPLAINED THAT HE HAD TO GO BACK TO CHICAGO TO GET SUPPLIES. THIS IRRITATED ME BECAUSE THE OFFICE DID NOT COMMUNICATE THIS WITH ME. THE CREW DID SHOW UP ON TIME EVERY DAY AFTER THAT. THEY DID ADDRESS ALL OF MY CONCERNS AND THEY DID LEAVE THE JOB SITE CLEAN ON A DAILY BASIS. I WILL SAY THAT I AM VERY PARTICULAR WHEN IT COMES TO ANYTHING THAT I HIRE SOMEONE TO DO. I HAVE A FAIR AMOUNT OF TRADE KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE. I KNOW WHAT WILL WORK THE BEST AND WHAT IS A ''SHORT CUT''. THE CREW TRIED TO DO A SHORT CUT ONLY ONCE. I TOOK DIGITAL PHOTOS OF IT AND IT WAS CORRECTED.
Description of Work: I HAD THEM INSTALL VINYL SIDING ON MY HOUSE. THEY WENT OVER CURRENT WOOD SIDING. THE PRICE INCLUDED ''FRAMING OUT'' MY WINDOWS (WHICH ARE ONLY 1 YEAR OLD ALUMINUM CLAD). ALL THE TRIM WAS DONE IN COLOR COORDINATING ALUMINUM. THE PRICE ALSO INCLUDED REPLACEMENT OF ALL THE GUTTERS AND DOWNSPOUTS. I HAD THEM INSTALL OVER SIZED DOWNSPOUTS. THE SIDING INCLUDED TYVEK AND FOIL FACED INSULATION.

+ -1 moreCHAMPION WINDOWS GAVE US THE BEST QUOTE OVERALL. THE INSTALLER, JOHN, AND HIS CREW WERE METICULOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. THERE WERE A COUPLE SMALL ISSUES THAT NEEDED TO BE RESOLVED AFTER THE INSTALLATION, AND CHAMPION SENT A CONTRACTOR OVER IMMEDIATELY TO FIX THE PROBLEMS AT NO CHARGE. IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE OVERALL, AND OUR AC BILLS WENT DOWN SIGNIFICANTLY THIS YEAR BECAUSE OF THE GREAT WINDOWS. WOULD RECOMMEND HIGHLY.

TONY THEN GAVE US ONE PRICE AND THEN IF YOU SIGNED THE PAPERS TODAY, THE PRICE WENT LOWER. IF YOU DIDN'T GO FOR FINANCING THE PRICE GOT EVEN LOWER. WE FELT LIKE WE WERE AT A USED CAR LOT INSTEAD OF OUR HOME. WE THEN WERE HARASSED BY THIS SALESMEN NUMEROUS TIMES ON OUR CELL PHONE. EVEN AFTER WE TOLD TONY THAT WE WERE GOING WITH ANOTHER COMPANY, HE CONTINUED TO CALL US AND ASK US WHY WE DIDN'T CHOOSE HIM AND TRIED TO GIVE US A BETTER ''DEAL'' ON THE WINDOWS. THIS WAS A VERY UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE WITH CHAMPION WINDOWS, AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.
