The work was done on time and as estimated. The broken legs were brought in on a Saturday and I received a call on Monday with the estimated cost. The work was completed in a few days. They fixed the legs and stained them so that I can not see where the cracks were. The staff was very professional.

Outstanding workmanship and attention to detail. Beautiful work and respectful to the original craftsmanship.

Overall my experience was that Montalbano does fabulous work, but is not the best at customer service.

The company is very responsive, professional and courteous. The dressers were refinished at different times yet they match perfectly. The quality is well above average and the prices reflect that. I would use this company again and I highly recommend them.

We are delighted with Montalbano's workmanship. I feel like I have a brand new dining room set. They tightened the joints on the seats and retouched the wood on the arms and backs of the chairs. The newly padded seats are softer than the old ones were. The chairs look updated and much more elegant than with the cane backs. Rich even brought them back to us a week earlier than he had promised. We intend to have him do more work for us in the near future. We are very happy customers.

overall the workmanship was excellent and I am very happy with the finished product. We did have some communication issues which did cost me several hours of time and I felt that could have been totally avoided. When attempting to match fabrics, Rich had given me 3-4 swatch samples to choose from. Since I do not understand the upholstery business it never dawned on me that they had dozens and dozens of fabric books that I could have looked through. Rich did not mention it either so I spent the next couple of weeks going to local fabric stores trying to find a suitable fabric. After little success I informed them that I was kind of stuck and then they mentioned I could look through their books. I found a suitable fabric in a matter of 20-30 minutes when I looked through their books. But this also required an additional trip to their shop which is about 1 hour one way. I also do not like when a company offers what appears to be a blanket discount (which Montalbano does) and then gives you a reason as to why the discount does not apply in your case. In my case the discount didn't apply to my initial 3-4 swatches because they were being given to me for free. While this seems to border on a bait and switch tactic in all honesty I don't believe that is Montalbano's intention at all. It was more likely just a snafu in the way they advertise the discount.

They called two days later and said it was right. We expected the wait to be a lot longer. They did a very nice job.

I have interacted quite a bit with them. Their work was fantastic and absolutely amazing. I highly recommend them to anybody who is looking to have this kind of work done. They are amazing. I probably spent somewhere between $8000 and $10000 for their services. They set a schedule and they delivered on time. Their craftsmanship was impeccable. All my stuff is antique and one of the dining room chairs was broken. When I got it back, I couldn?t tell which one that was. There was a replacement that was indistinguishable from the rest. The bedroom set was my grandmother?s and was 90 years old. It had darkened a lot and I had tears in my eyes when they brought it back. It was plain mahogany and I never knew it. I think they are an amazing company. If you have a piece of furniture you love and you need it to be redone, then they are the people to go to. They will treat it with love and care. There were no complaints about them whatsoever. They were very polite. They were very careful when they took it out and brought it in. Everything was well wrapped and handled everything well. I would use their services in the future too.

They were very responsive, very friendly, and did the work within a couple of days. You would never see where the break was. We would use them again for furniture repair and have put them in our permanent file.

When they finished it they wanted us to come out and take a look at it before they delivered it. They were really excited as well. We didn?t price it out with anyone else. We choose them based on their reference on Angie?s List.

Responded promptly to phone call and took the items for repair at the time of the estimate. The work was completed in only a couple of weeks and done beautifully. Both items had deeply sentimental value and I feel that they had been treated with great care and respect.

They did a really nice job. They were really expensive, but I imagine that would be the case for most furniture refinishers. I can't think of one bad thing about the service.

On time, work as delivered. The price seemed high but I got several bids and they were all close to each other so I guess it was a competitive price.

I was able to send photo's of the desk to them over the internet, and they responded the same day with a quote and timeline. The timeline for pick-up was based on what was convenient for me, and they arrived on time. The process took longer than what was originally estimated, but they kept me informed on the progress. I asked them to restore the desk and chair to the original finish, and they matched it perfectly. The desk was delivered as easily as it was picked up. The delivery people were knowledgeable about old furnishing and were able to tell me a little about the period in which my desk was originally made. As I said in the other box, I was so pleased that they are now doing an entire dining room set.

He was really great! He restored everything really well. I wouldn't go to anyone else and I can't say enough about him!
