Everything was perfect. I received prompt attention from the first call to the delivery. Everyone I spoke with got back to me or arrived when they said they would. The work was fantastic! When the furniture was ready for delivery, we were in the middle of some home renovations, and they were happy to hold on to the furniture for two extra weeks. I would - and have - highly recommend this company for refinishing projects. Even my husband was thrilled with the quality of the work.

Superb and worth every cent. This was an heirloom piece inherited from my grandparents so I wouldn't trust it to just anyone. All of the refinishing was done by hand, pick up and delivery to another location was done on time and with extraordinary care. The project was finished ahead of schedule and the dining set now looks brand new. In fact, it probably looks better & the chairs are more sturdy than when purchased!

They picked up the table and washstand at my house with no problems and also delivered them back to me. They both look beautiful. The delivery guys even shoveled the snow off my sidewalk.

My wife never received a call back from the company to discuss our furniture refinishing needs.

They arranged to have an estimator come during my first call to them. The estimator came when he said he would, and was efficient, experienced, and polite. He set a pickup date for the furniture, which they followed through on in a professional manner. The job took longer than I was expecting (eight weeks), but I didn't check this out with them in the beginning, and it seems to be their standard turnaround time. Maybe it seems so natural to them that it doesn't occur to them to warn people about it. When the job was done they called and arranged for delivery at a time that was convenient for us. The delivery was prompt and professional. The finished job looks good. The table works well. The dining chairs are more comfortable and sturdy to sit in. The side chair is excellently repaired and nicely finished. The refinishing job on it is perhaps, to my taste, a little TOO good; I would prefer it to be a little less new and shiny and even looking.

The work is exquisite as is always the case with this company. The wood trim and feet of the sofa were refinished beautifully, and the brass covers for the feet were polished and reattached. The frame was repaired and new springs were installed, and the sofa seems much firmer and more substantial than it did before. The upholstery work is of extremely high quality, with meticulous attention to detail, pattern matching, etc. We are extremely happy with the result and we highly recommend this company without any reservation.

Excellent. My dining room table had developed a few dings and other imperfections over the years. My two chairs needed to fix the wheels/rollers and bent outside rod. They fixed everything perfectly. Very high end work. Extremely professional, service oriented, and excellent results. Very pricey though, however, you can't really argue with the outstanding results.

Montalbano's did an amazing job restoring my bookcase. They are truly masters in their field. Rich Montalbano was very nice and extremely knowledgeable. He was always available to take my phone calls when I had questions. Upon seeing their factory/workshop, I knew Montalbanos was the right company to restore my bookcase. They are furniture manufacturers so they understand the whole process of restoring furniture and they finished the work within the time frame they quoted. After I picked up my bookcase, I dropped off an old mirror to be restored. The mirror had many coats of paint/stain that needed to be removed. The scroll work was broken off and missing. They recreated the missing scroll work and corner pieces and refinished the frame in a mahogany stain for $400. The mirror was finished in the time frame quoted and turned out more beautiful than I could have imagined. I highly recommend Montalbano's to my friends and I will use them in the future.

Great--prompt, professional, and good product.

We were extremely happy with this company's service, and we felt that the price was very reasonable given the excellent quality of the work. We used a company recommended by Marshall Field's for similar work some years ago--their work was not nearly as good as Montalbano's, and their prices were considerably higher. The repair to the dog-chewed pedestal table is truly a work of art--you can't tell there was damage. Richard Montalbano is a pleasure to deal with--he responds promptly, does excellent work, completes the job when promised, and charges a fair price. We recently hired Montalbano's again for repair and reupholstering of an antique sofa.

It was interesting that more questions were not asked to find out more about the project, before brushing it off as below their level of expertise. I'm giving them a B, since no work was done and I can't comment on the quality of their work. Phone skills need some work, but would hire them for antique work, since that seems to be their thing.

We were thrilled! They were so responsible and profession on our first experience and they didn't let us down on our second experience either. I would use them again in a heartbeat. Our pieces will last for years and years thanks to them. They did a beautiful job. Both Richard Sr and Richard Jr are very friendly and helpful.

They did a wonderful job on the cabinet, and also did some repair work on another piece at no charge. They did a fantastic job on all of the pieces.

Very expensive, quite a bit more than a new table and chairs.

Quick response to inquiry, accurate written estimate. The tables and chairs look great. Color of "new" finish is the same as "old" finish (and it is a pinkish pickled color).

Montalbano had a sale for $100 per door. My doors are 5 panel pine doors inside my home with 75 years of paint and stain. Montalbano did a great job of removing all paint and stain, especially considering how much paint was on the doors. My only complaint is that they lost the signs that I put on each door, so I wasn't sure which door went on which room when I got them back.

Undecided as to whether or not I'd use again, would go in for estimate but would definitely shop around.

MONTALBANO DID A GREAT JOB, BUT THEY ARE EXPENSIVE. THE 50 YEAR OLD TABLE LOOKED LIKE NEW WHEN THEY WERE FINISHED AND THEY MATCHED THE STAIN COLOR WE WANTED VERY WELL. ANOTHER SHOP HAD WORKED ON THE TABLE EARLIER AND DID A VERY POOR JOB SO WE TOOK IT TO MONTALBANOS AND THEY SAVED THE DAY. WE WERE QUOTED THAT IT WOULD BE DONE IN 4 TO 6 WEEKS AND WE GOT IT BACK IN 3.

THIS IS A FAMILY OWNED COMPANY. THE OWNER CAME AND DISCUSSED MY PROJECT, GAVE ME AN ESTIMATE, AND TOOK THE PIECE THAT DAY. THE END RESULT IS BEAUTIFUL. THE REPAIRS ARE INVISIBLE, AND I NOW HAVE A BEAUTIFUL ANTIQUE PIECE WHICH WAS MY GRANDMOTHER'S.

I AM A VERY HARD TO PLEASE PERSON TO SAY THE LEAST. MONTALBANO FURNITURE IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST COMPANY THAT I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!!!MY JOB WAS LARGE AND HAD MANY FACETS TO IT AND WHAT THIS COMPANY ACHIEVED WAS NOTHING SHORT OF A MIRACLE. I EVEN HAD TO INCREASE MY HOME OWNERS INSURANCE(CONTENTS) AS A RESULT OF THEIR FINE WORK. A SIDE NOTE... TAKE A LOOK AROUND THE FACILITY AND STUDY ALL THE GREAT THINGS THESE FOLKS DO FOR THE COMMUNITY... AMAZING.

IT WAS TOO COSTLY AND TRAVEL TOO FAR FOR THE CHAIRS I NEEDED REPAIRED. IT MADE MORE SENSE TO PURCHASE NEW CHAIRS. THE REPRESENTATIVE WAS PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS.

GIRL ON THE PHONE WAS VERY RUDE AND DID NOT WANT TO DO THE WORK I WANTED. DID NOT HAVE ANY REFERRALS FOR WHERE I COULD TAKE MY WORK. VERY POOR SERVICE.

WE HAD A FEW PROBLEMS THOUGH THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL IN WORKING THEM OUT.
