Great experience from beginning to end. Mr. Carrano called back quickly on estimate request and came out within 2 days. Work to be performed was explained and performed timely. The two men cleaned up their work space (and put nylon booties on their shoes so they didn't dirty my kitchen floor).I have had heavy rain recently and both leaks are sealed tight. You could actually see where the epoxy exited the wall on the outside above ground level. He has a 25 year warranty that will probably outlast me. I am satisfied with their work and pricing.

They were amazing! They were punctual. He was so patient. He walked around our property and explained some things to me, talked to me about a landscaping job and not to have the landscaping go over the basement all. Just all sorts of things I never thought of. I loved him, he was great. I would absolutely without a doubt use them again and I would recommend them to other people too. He cleaned up everything. He was so, so good. He told me that I needed to have sealing around my side door and he did that himself with no additional charge.
Description of Work: I had a leak in my basement and they came in and put injector in my wall.

Mike Carrano knows his stuff. He has a completely professional and passionate approach. Its almost as if he is challenging the problem to defeat him and in my case, he won. After receiving a number of estimates, one in which a large waterproofing company wanted to tear up my entire bottom floor living area and install a drain tile system with an alternate sump pump (I already have a drain tile), Mike came in and inspected the situation and provided a solution that was pinpointed and reasonable. He and his crew did the work exactly as described and in fact, did extra work on the interior to make sure that he had repaired the leak. He tested and retested by flooding the outside area and did not leave until he was completely sure that his solution worked. Excellent company, Mike is the best!
Description of Work: Cut away concrete patio on exterior along front wall about 12 inches wide by 13.5 ft. long. Prep and inspect construction joint and possible water test to confirm issue. Prep and apply waterproof liquid membrane to entire seam along front wall. Prep and apply protective membrane over liquid membrane. Prep and re-pour concrete to fill cut out area.

tMike gave me a flexible estimate for both straightforward concrete foundation crack repair and an exploratory estimate for a problem that needed investigation - minor seepage not easily identified that required water testing with me present. After accomodating last-minute changes due to my work schedule, Mike and his assistant arrived on time for an afternoon appointment. The crack repairs were easy and quickly accomplished. The investigation with water testing from outside with a hose revealed multiple past repairs in a basement corner along with a parge coat that covered up all the problems. A few additional hours were spent cleaning out the old repair and then doing a correct repair. All along the way the work and the reason to do it that way was clearly explained. The extra charges for the longer investigative and repair work were very reasonable. The work areas were left very clean. Subsequent rains (though infrequent!) have shown no seepage. The other estimate I got for this work insisted I needed an interior drain tile installed in the concrete floor, so they were clearly trying to sell a sump system instead of solving the problem. Mike's a great problem solver and I'd call him the next time I had a basement water infiltration problem.

Discovered basement seepage after torrential rains in 2010 and called Rite Way. Mike came out to diagnose and repair the problem. He did a number of injections and then ran a hose full blast against the foundation for 20 minutes to test the areas and make sure nothing would come through. We were delighted with the outcome. I pulled his contact info again to ask a question a year later about effective ways to deal with moisture in basement air and he immediately responded to help diagnose the issue, at no charge. No matter how heavy the rain since, we have had no seepage problems since the Rite-Way treatment.
Description of Work: Rite Way completed injection of material into several areas of basement wall to stop/prevent seepage.

They are an A+ in almost every category. However, as for being reachable or returning phone calls, I would give them a C-. The guy who owns it is excellent and he knows what he's doing. He doesn't have any kind of service that can be responsive to the floods of calls that come in. That's a problem. I would use them again if they would return my phone calls. I tried to use them one more time but they haven't called me back. I guess they're too busy to reply to people.
Description of Work: I used Rite Way Injections Waterproofing for help with my sump pump a couple years ago. They assessed my situation and gave me recommendations about what kind of injector pump I needed and how to merge two systems into one larger pipe. They installed a new sump pump injector and did some pipework to get the water out to a drainage system in the backyard. They fixed and installed a battery back-up system. That cost around $2000.

Mike and his partner fixed/filled two foundation cracks. He had to cut drywall in both cases but he did a very clean job. He did the job over several hours, explained everything as he went along and answered my detailed questions. He also sealed a few openings around the buildings where mice were entering. Also, he replaced one of my gutter downspouts which was in bad shape. He and his partner really seemed concerned about making the customer happy and being fair. Well done, Mike!

Mike was initially hard to reach because he's so busy but once he started work on my basement he was very quick to answer calls and emails. He also was very helpful and genuinely polite. I believe him to be trustworthy and truly concerned about his customers. He thought everything through before making recommendations and was very thorough in the work he did. He also cleared part of a gutter at no charge. He cleaned everything up and left no dust or concrete in my basement, which I very much appreciated.
Description of Work: I was very happy with the service that Mike Carrano provided. I had over eight estimates done for work to keep water from coming through basement walls and the basement window, which was caused by the fact that water was not draining out of the well. All of the companies I talked with recommended doing different things to solve the problem but no one was able to identify the root cause except for Mike. His solution was to clear and use an existing window well drain pipe which had been completely blocked with dirt and leaves over the years and had not been installed correctly when the basement was first constructed. This involved cutting open the basement floor and removing a section of pipe which the builder had never connected to the rest of the drainage system! Then Mike installed a new tee and couplers and completed the tie in to the exterior well drain. He also filled two cracks on two separate walls (2 feet and 13 feet.) The window well drain took hours to clear so he and the man who worked with him came back a second day to complete the work.

We had gotten water in our lower level in two areas. One was in the NW corner of our building and the second was in the SE corner (by a back door). The water issues had happened repeatedly with heavy storms. Another company came and supposedly "fixed" the issue by injecting a few minor cracks, but the issue continued. Mike from Rite-way injections came out and gave us an assessment. He suggested that they do a water test, which included taking out some drywall and insulation to expose the problem on the inside. After this, he was able to find the source of the water intrusion. We also decided to tackle the issue in two stages - do the NW corner first since it was easier to get to - and then apply the learnings to the SE corner. In the NW corner, they fixed the problem on both the inside and outside. On the inside, they injected the cracks. On the outside, they dug out to the footing and applied a waterproofing coat. They ended up having to dig out 2' deeper than initially planned, and also had to dig around the gas and water mains to our building. I wasn't home at the time of the work, but when I got home, it looked like nothing had been done. They had replaced all of the dirt and gravel so it looked like new. We did a follow-up water test after the repairs were made. Previously, at the initial water test, we had seen the water coming in after 15-20 minutes. After running a hose for over 2 hours, there wasn't any water! We delayed the work in the SE corner for a few 6-8 weeks. It was a bit difficult to schedule the time to get the work done for phase 2, as Mike and his team were extremely busy. That would be my only complaint throughout this process. However, it was definitely worth the wait. In order to really see what was going on, they had to dig out a concrete slab and assess the situation. Tearing out and disposal of the concrete was $425. They then did a great deal of waterproofing work as outlined in the section above. We recently did a final water test to ensure that the problem had been fixed. After running our hose for 2 hours, we didn't have any signs of water (in this area, it had previously taken only 10-15 minutes of running the hose to reproduce the problems). Overall, the experience was extremely positive. Mike and his team know what they're talking about, and their prices are less than that of other companies. Mike and his crew were fantastic to work with. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Description of Work: Work was done in two phases: Front corner of the building ($1250): - tear out drywall and insulation in affected area - perform water test - dig out an 8' long portion of the affected area. This dig ended up being 5' deep - apply waterproofing (3 various coats) to affected areas - injected cracks from the inside - water test again to ensure that problem was fixed - installed new metal downspouts Back corner of the building ($1675): - tear out drywall and insulation in affected are - perform water test - dig out concrete landing and removed concrete - prep and fill voids in foundation wall and cinder block with waterproofing grout - prep and apply waterproof liquid membrane to below grade foundation surface - Prep and fasten waterproof carpet to foundation construction joint - Prep and install drain tile and connect to existing pipe - Prep and install new 8x8 catch basin drain - Prep and install gravel and new concrete slab.

Overall it went well. Mike is a good guy. He didn't try to make a mountain of work out of small mole hill. And in the end that's all it was - a minor minor leak.
Description of Work: Mike Carrano came out after I contacted him via email through Angie's List's website. I had a leak coming in the basement by the downstairs back door. The house is relatively new; approx 3-5 year old. It didn't leak all the time. Only after we got a lot of rain and the ground was sturated. Mike inspected the situation and gave me his thoughts. He gave me his sincere assessement of the situation. I could tell he was not trying to sell me on work I didn't need. I appreciated his honesty. We ended up drilling some holes in my concrete steps to try and relieve the static pressure on my foundation. He couldn't promise me it would work but he said it was worth a shot. And if it didn't work he said I could call him back out and he would move on to the next possible solution. The next step would have been much more invasive and expensive. (Ripping out drywall, tearing out carpet, removing trim work, door casing, etc....) Mike was not trying to make a big project of it. Some contractors would try to make a big project out of it. Mike was surgical. When he was done Mike didn't want to charge me anything. Can you believe that? I asked him how much I owed him, he said "don't worry about it". I appreciated it but I wouldn't let him leave without taking $40. Most of the contractors who show up a your door charge you $90 just to come out (even if they don't do a darn thing to solve the problem). In the end the pressure relief holes we drilled didn't work. It helped but did not solve the situation. But I explored some pointers that Mike gave me and I was able to pin-point the leak. There was a small crack in the concrete floor below the door's threshold. I was able to solve the problem on my own. I didn't have to call Mike back out. I can tell you this, if I wasn't able to solve it on my own I would have definitely called Mike back out. I would definitely recommend him and I would use him again if I needed to.

I called Rite Way Injections Waterproofing company for an estimate. I spoke with someone there who wanted to email me an estimate "site unseen." I agreed and waited for over a week for the estimate. After waiting for over a week, I called twice and received no reply. After my second phone call, I mysteriously received an email with the estimate. Needless to say that no matter what the cost was, I was not going to use this company. I felt as though they did not want to come out and covered themselves by giving me a "site unseen" estimate. I never even received a courtesy call or a follow up call from them.

We had several companies examine the problem and provide remedies. None worked. Mike Carrano of Rite-Way devoted many hours to diagnosing the problem, made several trips to our home, was determined to identify the real cause of the problems unlike other companies which made rapid diagnoses. In one case, an external drain-tile system was installed that cost more than the remedy Mr. Carrano proposed but failed to resolve the problem. Mr. Carrano refused to do any work until he was certain that he had identified the source of the problem and the correct remedy. It was the difference between going to see several doctors to deal with a chronic ailment without success and finally encountering a true and devoted specialist who persisted until the problem was resolved. Mr Carrano deserves not just the Angie's List Super Service Award but a Distinguished Service Award. He is a bright star of his profession. It was an extraordinary experience working with someone who went about solving a problem in our home as if it was his own.
Description of Work: Mike Carrano of Rite-WAy dagnosed reasons for water seepage in basement during heavy rainfall. His company plugged leaks in walls, injected protective foam materials in the walls, installed sump pump, discharge pipes, and dedicated electrical wiring and outlet.

I called the company and did not receive a call back. I understand companies are busy during times of storms, but out of four companies I called one company answered that day and two other companies called back the next business morning. This company says that if you email them they will respond in 24 hours--I guess I should have read that because apparently, they don't do the same with phone calls. Luckily, my situation is not as bad as others in the area and I would not call this company in a more urgent moment of need.

Mike came out on the Saturday of July 4th weekend with his nephew (who he's showing the ropes to). They put on shoe covers, which I really appreciated, and got right to work. They did all the work I outlined above and were professional and very nice. Mike and his nephew were at our house for at least an hour and did so much, but wouldn't take any money. I'm not sure if that was because he was feeling generous or what, but I was floored. We do need to have work done on one of our downspouts and we will definitely be using Mike. We will also use him when our sump pump does need to be replaced. Thanks Mike!
Description of Work: Mike came out to look at our sump pump and battery back-up sysytem to make sure they were both working, but did so much more and didn't even charge us because (I think) he looked at it as an evaluation/estimate call, not an official service call. Mike reviewed our sump pump and let me know it was getting old, but still in good working condition. He provided a quote, but did not pressure me to replace my current one. He said he doesn't believe in scare tactics to get business. He also found a lot of old wiring from what looked like a switch or plug being replaced on the original sump pump (we aren't the original owners) so he cleaned it all out and made it much easier to see which wires are for the sump pump and which ones go to the battery back-up system. He also found two frogs in the sump pump well that he 'fished out' for us! For the battery back-up system, the battery was dead but Mike was still able to test it and confirm it works. He provided advice about back-up sysytems, but really he is more in favor of generators. Again, no pressure about selling me anything. He just shared the information so we could make an informed decision. Mike also took the time to walk us around our house to review all the drains in the window wells as well as the downspouts to make sure they all had an entry and exit (point A and point B). He also advised us on how to check to make sure they are all in working order.

Mike came out and explained that internal water-proofing would not solve the issue. He recommended that we work with a plumber regarding an above ground sewer system or a backflow system. The best scenario would be to place it on the outside of the house. He was extremely knowledgeable and walked me through why we should take this approach. He potentially saved us thousands of dollars. If we were going to have waterproofing work done inside the house, I'll defintely be contacting him.
