Chem-Wise Ecological Pest Management

The tech arrived early after calling to confirm. He treated the area where the wasps were entering and made a second visit for re-treatment 3 days later. The wasps continued to emerge for a few days, presumably from whatever nest had been started inside the wall. The tech recommended waiting a few days before sealing the entry hole. Opening the wall to find and remove the nest will be an option if the wasps reappear after the winter. I will call them again for service.

The experience with them is still ongoing. They’re coming back. They set the bait up to see where the mice were coming in from. The guy seemed to know what he was doing. So far we’re pleased with them. We don’t know for sure because we haven’t finished the process. They did find a couple of holes but they haven’t found everything as yet. We actually got an email from Angie’s list and that’s how we got to know about this company. They were willing to accommodate us. They were willing to listen and do what we really wanted. It’s too early to comment on anything because they’ve just started.

The employee was great, very knowledgeable. He was courteous. There were at least four places where he applied the treatment. He was considerate in removing one wasp nest underneath the handle of a gas grill as he did not want to spray because of food preparation at the grill, so he knocked it down (which was over and above the agreed upon services.) The treatment took place three months ago and the wasps did not return, nor have we seen any more nests. We intend to use them again next season.

I think everything went well. It has only been a couple of weeks since they came & sprayed, but I don't see any spiders. The 1st visit is somewhat higher than subsequent visits. I have already hired them for next year --- it's for 3 visits -- to control pests & bees (which is an extra charge(.

Technician came on time, was courteous and knowledgable. Wasps were gone after first application, but was told to call back for free follow-up visit if they were not completely gone in a few days. Wonderful company! Even got $25 discount as a first-time Angie's List subscriber.

The entire process was timely and responsive. The technician was very thorough and took time to explain every step of the process.

Service professional arrived on time and was very courteous. He did a thorough inspection of the home's perimeter and possible entry points of the yellow jackets. He then checked inside home as well. He explained that the bees may be foraging for a place for the winter. He thoroughly treated all potential entry points (eaves, under decks, etc.). We found a nest in a tree that he also treated and took down. All in all, he was very methodical and thorough as well as being polite!

They come out three times a year and their service is very good. They are very kind and easy to work with. I would highly recommend them. They are timely as well. They provide quality work and they will come back if need be for follow up work.

I was pleased with the Service provided by Chem-wise. The bees are for the most part gone.

After coming across occasional dead yellow jackets on laundry area floor for a week or so, then Thursday, 9/1, found more of them buzzing around that area, very much alive. I called Chem-Wise that morning, to see if they could come out Saturday, 9/3, when I'd be off work. They could, & offered me two time slots. I took the earlier one. Steve showed up right on time, I showed him situation in basement where several were buzzing around the ceiling light bulb & crawling up the pull cord. He walked all around the house outside & quickly found where they were coming & going in the basement wall near the ground, behind a lot of overgrown foliage. He put on his bee suit & dusted the nest, first from inside, then from outside. He warned against going into that area (it is walled off with a door), for at least 24 hours, 48 would be better. He also described finding a hole in the wall where they had gotten in & recommended having it repaired. He reported checking behind the insulation for them, but they hadn't gotten in there. I had earlier expressed interest in the $195 wasp-proofing, but after he had checked around, he said we didn't need that, & that destroying this one nest ($95) should do it. Plus I had a $25 Angie's List coupon, which reduced the price to $70. I really appreciated his telling me that the higher-priced wasp-proofing wasn't necessary. I would definitely use Chem-Wise again.

We had called Chem Wise after finding carpenter ants in an upstairs bedroom. There weren't too many ants, but we have a lot of trees around the property and wanted to have the home sprayed. Chem Wise came out and applied the spray and put a few injections on an inside bedroom Within a week or so we didn't see any more ants. What impressed me about Chem Wise was that 2 days after they were here, I noticed a large swarm of bees around our chimney. I called Chem Wise and the same gentleman came out the next day. He said not to worry about the bees because they were honey bees. He did a check in the attic and didn't see anything but did "fog" in the attic. The agent told us that the bees would be gone in a few days because honey bees don't stick around. Needless to say, I was skeptical, but the bees actually did disappear just as the agent said. Chem Wise was very good and I signed up for their one year service.

We received this service on Memorial Day weekend. I am writing this on Labor Day weekend and am happy to report that we have not seen one ant in the house since the service. The tech was punctual, polite, and informative, and the environmentally friendly treatment worked extremely well. I will definitely call them for any future needs.

We had a terrible ant problem before Chem-Wise came and helped. Within 24 hours, no more ants! They were very nice, responsive, helpful and the cost was reasonable The product they use is safe for our pets and eco-friendly, which was a huge plus. We were so happy we signed up for their seasonal service. They also offer a free follow up service if we experience any issues in between visits. We would definitely recommend Chem-Wise to everyone!

Started the program in early April. The weeds have been controlled well. There were a small amount of dandilions popping up in between services and they were very responsive in taking care of. The company seems to be well run and very friendly when I call in. However, maybe my expectations are greater than they should be as I look at my lawn right now and it looks very similar to the same time last year when I fertilized myself. There are the same bald or bare patches in the front lawn even with an average amount of watering on my part and having a fairly wet albeit hot summer. I believe problem is with the lawn not the service but a better looking lawn was the reason I signed up for the service. Not a lawn expert but maybe it needs to be aerated and the fact the lawn is slanted towards the street and gets a good amount of sun probably makes certain areas not be able to hold water and patches probably reflect patches of grass most sensitive to hot weather as even when it rained for a few days in a row during summer dry patches did not change and I kept the grass longer to try to protect but did not help. I will continue to use service but guess I will need additional help for a great looking lawn. Scott Pruett

The technician who came out, Luke, was great. He sprayed very thoroughly under our house eaves and along the deck where we most frequently see wasps. I also asked him about a series of ant hills on our patio and he took care of those at no cost, which was very generous and much appreciated. After a longstanding battle with the ants, we are finally rid of them. The wasps are still frequenting our deck, but when I called Chemwise on Friday to discuss what to do, they said we are covered for this through the end of the year, so Luke will return on Monday at no additional cost. We really appreciate their responsiveness.

Shortly after I had signed up for the service, I got a call from Chem-Wise (a few days later). The young lady that I talked with said that she got my order and wanted to set up a time when they could come to spray. We had a date set up for Saturday, July 23rd but the tech was running a little late. The rain and power outages played a factor on the need to reschedule for July 28th. On Thursday, July 28th the young man came about 30 min. past the time scheduled but he did show up. He was pleasant and was very professional. Prior to him starting to spray, he explained what he was going to do and what he was spraying for. He asked if I had any questions. After he sprayed, I signed off on the form that I received the service and he explained other services available. Overall, experience was good and I would definitely use them again.

The guy was without hair but he was very good. He cleaned everything. He removed the wasps that were making a nest. He took the time to put some things back. They were here again just last week.
