Very angry words from a very angry lady. I am going to write verbatem a message she left with my answering service at 8:34 PM Wed. 10/06/10. The member called Re: I am very disturbed about job U are doing on my property with windows and siding/foreman treated me like second class citizen, because I am a female/ I make more than they do and I am funding this whole job/u promised 2 days for windows/2 days for siding/Henry (foreman) said not till next tuesday/ U had audacity to ask my husband for $3000.00 Dollars more of my money for siding and equipment/ is it ever going to be put up/ don't call me for references" I immediatly called her within minutes to see what what was going on. She was out of control. She was very proud that she had just "blasted," her word, the crew for parking on the open side of the driveway so she could not get into her garage. Henry apologised and moved his truck. That was not enough for the member. She was going to berate these men any way she could. She yelled at them for several minutes. I told her If we had known that we could not use the driveway, had anyone told us we would not have been there, we are sorry and it will not happen again. But that was not enough for the member. She proceeded to blast me, and tell me that I was told about the driveway. We were not. Her husband was home and if we were not to be on the driveway he would have told us. She went on and on. I apologised over and over. Not enough for her. The member was a pleasure to work with on the other hand. Daily I would come and check the work with the member to make sure he was happy. He was and I believe still is. They, or I should say "he", in fact added on a $10,000.00 siding job on to the $10,000.00 Thermal window job that was the original job. By the way It was in our original ageement and in the contract that I pick up a check for $3000.00 at the start of the job. I didn't ask for the check until two days into the job. I realize these are difficult times for everyone. I can't help but feel bad for anyone who is so stressed out that they have to take thier frustrations out on someone else, especially laborers. My foreman Henry has been with me for 25 years. He is the nicest kindest man you would ever want to meet. He doesn't even know what a second class citizen is. He would never be mean or condicesending to anyone. The member has issues in my opinion and I hope she finds peace within herself. We did a great job for them and the member knows it. I believe the member knows it too. Only I think she's overworked and needs a vacation. Maybe that's why she was angry, her husband spent the vacation money on siding and windows? You can't please everybody. I'm sorry we didn't exceed her expectations. We do for most all of our other customers. I wish her the best. P.S. I never promised that the siding job would be completed in two days. We did complete the window job (inside part) in two days. Even though I didn't promise that either. You can please most of the people most of the time, but not all of the people all the time. We'll keep on trying to please everyone anyway.
