Description of Work: Mal and his team were awesome! Mal was very patient as we were working with insurance. He had his team fix some problems that a previous contractor had screwed up, and I couldn’t be happier with how our house looks now! He was also the lowest price quote we got and was willing to work with how much insurance was giving us for the project. I can’t recommend Professional Home Improvement enough!

Description of Work: Mal Graifman and his team did an outstanding job in replacing damaged siding on our home. The damage was caused by an out-of-control "controlled burn", and Mal was instrumental in negotiating with the insurance company and the appraiser, ensuring that my neighbors and I were awarded a just compensation to do the job right. Mal went above and beyond in that respect alone. Once the job was finally begun, Mal's team did an outstanding job, paying attention to every detail, like moving cable lines to our TV dish from the outside to underneath the siding to hide the unsightly cables. They were all courteous and professional, and after the job was complete, you'd hardly know a siding installation team had been there- clean-up was very thorough. In addition, my wife and I had ordered a new patio door, and I asked Professional Home Improvement if they could install it while replacing the siding. Mal and his team agreed without hesitation (for an additional charge, of course, since this was not covered by the insurance claim). As with the siding, they did an exemplary job in removing the old door and installing the new door, which fits like a glove and works smoothly and efficiently. I can't say enough about the great work that Professional Home Improvement did. If the need arises, Mal and team will definitely have a repeat customer.

+ -1 moreAfter spending 2 1/2 hours going into details on the residing job. He gave us a $13,000 estimate for removing old Cedar siding followed by putting in Tyvec, insulation board, new vinyl siding from Alside, a middle of the line product called Center-Lock, new fascia, new shutters, recapping windows, doors and garage door. He said he was giving us a very good price because our neighborhood is ripe for residing jobs and he wanted to use our house and project to promote his work and company in the area to generate more jobs. I spoke with Mal 2 days later to inform him that we decided on a color siding that is only available from Alside's Charter Oak - we knew there was a higher cost difference. We asked for a pricing on it. We have yet to hear back from Mal with the new estimate. After not hearing from Mal for two weeks we left one message and we have yet to hear back. Very strange. Beware of salesman offering you a deal.

+ 2 moreVery well. Mal came out to the house for the estimate/quote. He was punctual and very professional throughout the process. He explained precisely what he would do and documented it on his quotation. His concern for little details like adding a 1 x 2 profile to create a fascia rake set his proposal apart. Work started on time with Mal going over the job with his crew. He worked through some schedule snags when electrical boxes for lighting were not installed on time by the electrician. The crew did some nice profile work with the aluminum which was wrapped around all the trim and fascia. Joints neatly caulked and the job site cleaned. The end results speak for themselves. Quality work, professional, responsive, priced right.
Description of Work: Siding on entire house along with new soffits and gutters. Old aluminum siding stripped. 3/8 foil faced insulation installed with Tyvek wrapping. Windows and doors framed with profile and capped with aluminum. Seamless aluminum gutters.

+ 0 moreAfter contacting several companies, I met with Mal who explained the basics and more about siding and gutters. He gave me several different options, including different types of siding. He advised me to review his information and references, talk to other contractors, and then call him back for a follow up meeting. A few days later, I met with Mal and he gave me a great price on the job, which beat the other offers by far! He started the job within a few weeks and did a great job. The crew was polite and cleaned up after every day. Mal stopped by and checked on the job, almost every day. Mal's crew completed everything they promised plus more. I appreciated the gutter guard that was installed in the back, even though it was not part of the contract. I highly recommend this contractor.
Description of Work: I had new vinyl siding, soffits, gutters, and fascia put on my house. The windows were built out and retrimed to align with the siding. Any rotted exterior wood was also replaced, prior to siding. I also had a porch wooden walkway removed.

+ 3 moreEstimate was best of 4. Mal answered all calls and questions promptly, as well as provided recent work references (which we viewed). Work began within a week of our accepting the proposal. Work took about a week. They were very precise in their workmanship; addressed any questions I had during installation immediately; cleaned up after themselves every workday- no debris. Returned 2 weeks later to install storm doors that we bought despite delayed delivery. Would highly recommend.
Description of Work: Installed aluminum soffits, fascia, frieze over existing cedar. Capped cedar garage door frames, back door frame. Installed 2 storm doors.

+ 2 moreI checked the crew daily as they progressed in their work. I did find some problems along the way, but a phone call to Mal took care of them. For example, the first window was trimmed wrong, and after calling Mal on it he made sure that the crew did it right. The new trim around the windows look very nice. The siding makes the house look much better. His end price was a bit more than the quoted price, but it still ended up being lower than the others' quoted prices. He gave more value for the money than the others. I did see others quote lower prices, but would have done less than what Mal did.
Description of Work: New siding, soffit, gutters, fascia. He installed foam insulation, Tyvek, and vinyl siding over existing siding. He built out and re-trimmed the windows to the siding.

+ -1 moreAfter receiving several estimates from different local companies and meeting with Mal Graifman from Professional Home Improvement twice, I decided to go with Mal. However, I attempted to contact Mal on at least four different occasions after our second meeting, and he never responded to any of my phone calls. I didn't understand given that his last words to me were "looking forward to do business with you..". My guess is that he did not like the fact that I asked a lot of questions. Silly me, I thought I had a right to know how his company would do things since I was ready to spend over $7000. Ironic that the word "professional" is part of his company's name. Stay away folks.

He told me that my project, which was to put siding on garage and in some areas of my home, was a small project for him. Also my area is kind of far for such a small project. He gave me referece of B. D. Romano who works in my area. I will definitely work with him in future if I have a bigger project.

+ -1 morePHI (Professional Home Improvement) is a wonderful company. Mal came to my home and did a great job of explaining the ins and outs of soffit and fascia work. He had a long list of references and pictures of the work that they do. The price was very fair, especially considering that PHI s materials and craftsmanship are far superior to competitors. PHI s employees are highly respectful of your home and family, arriving promptly at 8am (weather-permitting) and working until 5pm, cleaning up each night. They even went as far as to avoid working near my child s room at naptime and when that wasn t possible, told me what part of the house would be the quietest. PHI is unobtrusive; in the heart of home improvement season, they were in and out in less than 2 wks, from contract signing to job completion. The workmanship is incomparable. You can tell that PHI takes true pride in their work. I could not be happier. I recommend PHI to all of our friends and plan to use them in the future.
Description of Work: Replaced all rotted exterior wood, and then capped soffit, fascia and all other exterior wood trim, including porch posts, front door trim, garage trim, etc., in aluminum.

First, he educated me as to what is involved in doing this job. I had a few other estimates, but chose Professional Home Improvement because I thought they would do the best job and I was not disappointed. I am extremely happy with the the siding, soffits and fascia. His customer service was excellent as well. Whenever I called with a question or concern he called me back promptly (within the hour) even after hours. I would highly recommend Professional Home Improvement to anyone and would use them again if needed. Truly professional and top quality work!

+ -1 moreMal was the only siding contractor to VISIT me instead of leaving a quote in my mailbox. He explained everything there was to know about siding, which was very helpful. His price was inline with other estimates, but his attitude and responsiveness were (and remain) far superior. The 2-man crew worked steadily every day, cleaned up the mess, and did their best to work around the landscaping. They also answered my questions and resolved a few minor issues during the job and after it was completed. Months after the job was completed, we had a ventilation issue in the attic. Mal came up with a temporary solution given that there was ice in the gutters preventing removal of the soffits. He then followed up in the spring (I didn't have to call!) to tell me he hadn't forgotten about the project.
Description of Work: House fully resided, including complete tear-off, new insulation board, Tyvek, gutters, soffits, and fascia.

I was very fortunate to have contacted Mal and hired his company. I would highly recommend this company to everyone. The workmen started every day around 7 and left about 5:00pm. They made sure that the outside was swept clean every day of debris and garbage put in the dumpster. The crew was very professional and prompt. They were happy to accommodate my requests to change exterior fixtures and answer my questions. The work that was done exceeded my expectations. My home was transformed from the ugliest on the block to an attractive looking house!

HIS BID WAS COMPETITIVE AND HE USES A HIGHER QUALITY PRODUCT COMPARED TO THREE OTHER COMPANIES WE RECEIVED BIDS FROM. HE SAID THAT HE WOULD BE AROUND TO CHECK ON THE JOB AND HE WAS TRUE TO HIS WORD. THE CREW WAS ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL; PROMPT, AND VERY DILIGENT WORKERS. THEY WORKED AT A STEADY PACE AND BROUGHT THEIR OWN LUNCHES IN THE MORNING, WHICH MEANT THEY TOOK A SHORT LUNCH BREAK AND GOT RIGHT BACK TO WORK. MAL AND HIS CREW ADDRESSED ALL OF OUR CONCERNS AND WERE ATTENTIVE TO OUR NEEDS. THEY MADE SURE THAT ALL DEBRIS AND NAILS WERE REMOVED WHEN THEY FINISHED (ESPECIALLY IMPORTANT IF YOU HAVE SMALL CHILDREN).
