.Six days total, very hard working crew, outstanding craftsmen. They were responsive to all of my concerns. We did have a problem with wasps and one of the men was stung twice, even though I had sprayed. The weather was good so the work went smoothly. I was concerned about the heat so I provided iced bottled water for the crew each day, I was concerned about heat issues and felt this was worth while for safety and since from my experience, I can work more efficiently if hydrated. Mal was great and took the time to go over everything. Given the quality of materials and the professional job and appearance after the work, it was money well spent. Professional Home Improvement has our highest recommendation.

I explained to Mal right from the start what my goals were for this project. He took a lot of time to talk to me about the various options I had and how I could best spend my money. I felt that Mal was honest and sincere and genuinely cared about helping me decide what was best for me and my house. He didn't push any business on me and gave me some great recommendations on how to improve my home. Thanks Mal!

It went well when siding was put in initially. We had many issues with the follow up. It almost seemed that they wanted to move on quickly and not do the thorough job that Mal kept pitching. I am sure now that we overpaid for the quality because the workers were not thorough enough. They didn't even rip the old tyvek to see if there was any damage. When I pointed out to the workers , they seemed to ignore me. When pointed out to Mal, he promised that he will talk to them. We later found out that they were not even his employees . Because they refused to do the follow up work that he says he wanted to get done but they were not co-operating !! Anyway they missed a window and surrounding area which had damage . They just clad it. I paid another contractor to fix that area later on. After spending over 22k and giving one of the biggest siding job to this company, the over all experience was sub-par.

Professional Home Improvement was a great company to work with from the start. Mal, the owner was extremely prompt in returning my call to schedule an estimate and was very friendly. When he came to our home for the estimate he was very knowledgeable and had answers to all of our questions. He had many samples to show us and he was very organized. He left a list of addresses of other jobs his company had completed and we were very impressed with what we saw. We had a few other companies come out to give us quotes as well, but in the end we were the most comfortable with the quality, options and pricing Mal gave us for the job. When he came back out to sign the contract he brought a sample of the specific siding we wanted and a display of the type of window they would be installing. Once the contract was signed and the supplies were ordered we only had to wait about 2-3 weeks before everything was ready and the job started. The crew that worked on our house was great and Henry, the foreman, was very easy to work with. They were on time every morning and even came out to work on a Saturday to make up for some time lost due to heavy rain. They cleaned up before they left every evening and we were never left with any part of the house unsecured overnight. The quality of the work was really good and the house looks great. We only had 2 minor problems: one was that the elbow on one of the downspouts from the top gutter needed to be adjusted to that the water would cascade over the lower roof instead of directly into the lower gutter causing a waterfall effect and the other was the one small upper strip of siding over the garage that was too small to be nailed in had come unglued a few days later due to the rain. When we emailed Mal about it, they came out and fixed it the next day (a Saturday!) and we have had no problems since. Everything looks top notch and we could not be more pleased. Our neighbors all think it looks great as well. We will definately call Professional Home Improvement again next year when it is time to replace the remainder of our windows.

Things went very well with the siding. Mal was great at explaining our options and making sure we were comfortable with everything. We felt we had a pretty reasonable price and are very happy with the quality of the work. Many of our neighbors stopped by to compliment us, and I know several of them also ended up using Mal.

We had damaged siding from a storm, but it was very minor. The kind of thing that most businesses won't want to bother with. I called a few siding companies for quotes and they ranged from $500 - $1500!. Mal sent his crew over for a look. He repaired it for $150! It doesn't even look like a patch job. Perfect.

Professional Home Improvement was very responsive to my inquiry. Mal exchanged emails with me and several phone calls. He then came out to the house several times to go over the project and guide us through selecting materials and colors that would look best on our style/color of house. I was kept up-to-date on the scheduled delivery of the materials and estimated starting date for my job. Since this is an outdoor project there was a short (rain) delay but the crew was there on Monday to start the job. Mal stopped by to make sure they understood all that was needed. The crew was great! Whenever I had questions they were quick to answer them. They were very polite and extremely professional. They made sure that every joint was exact and the overall look was perfect. The crew worked very hard and completed the job on time and on budget. I selected Professional Home Improvement over other contractors because their quote represented a high quality, professional job. Not necessarily the lowest quote but the quote that showed they cared about doing the job right! I would highly recommend Professional Home Improvement as a expert and detailed siding contractor.

The initial quoting and planning process was excellent. We discussed the details of the potential project with Mal (the owner) - spent a good amount of time on alternatives. This was different from others we had quote the job, who either simply wanted to push their stuff or didn't seem as knowledgeable. The details were important to us, because we were looking to change a few things in how the house had originally been constructed, to take care of places where rain water didn't flow off very well or wood trim got rotted. Mal's foreman, Greg, was very knowledgeable, and I spent just as much time discussing details with him. He had some good suggestions to address the house's issues, and handled those well. The quoted price was good - in the middle range of what we received, but we felt that the finer details were well covered. For example, they built a new soffit along the wall between our garage and front bedroom where water flow was an issue. They added another gable vent as a decorative feature, painted some trim on the "half moon" windows that were not being capped because they adjoin the brick front of the house, and even put in a window well cover at the rear of the home. The weather played a small role in getting started, but the job was done quickly and pretty much on schedule. We were very satisfied with the results and the place looks fantastic! And with the recent heavy rains, the changes to the water flow has made a big difference, all our previous issues were solved. They paid attention to the details and threw in a few extras that really set the project apart. Overall we are were very satisfied with the whole project, we love our "new house"!

We had an insurance claim on our home to repair siding due to storm damage and were looking for a company to replace our siding and help us work with the insurance company. We selected three companies from Angie?s list. We got a list of references from all three companies. All the homes done by Professional Home Improvements consistently had the same quality. Mal inspected our home and provided a very thorough estimate. He reviewed the estimate provided by our insurance company and helped us negotiate additional funds. We had the aluminum siding replaced with Alside CenterLock vinyl siding with foil faced R3.6 insulation and ty-vek underneath, the fascia and soffits were wrapped. Our house is now insulated so much better than it has ever been! We replaced many of our windows with Alside UltraMaxx windows. They are easy to operate and maintain. We had these windows through very cold and hot weather and have noticed a significant difference from our old windows. We are very pleased Mal recommended these windows. We can?t say enough about the crew and the quality of their work. Once they started the job, the same crew was out every day on time till the job was finish. The crew was very conscientious and neat. Our house looks great and we have received many compliments. It was a pleasure working with Mal and his crew. We would definitely highly recommend Professional Home Improvements.

I have had many bad experiences with contractors.....Mal and his crew was by far the greatest to work with. He delivered everything he said he would do and more. He really wanted our house to look its best, even if it was changing something that was not specifically written in the contract and he didn't add extra charges as the project went along. When I ask for something to be done, I only had to ask one time and the crew took care of it. I even had to call them back a month after the job to tweak a few things and they came back and took care of it with no problem. I will definately use Angie's list to hire my contractors and I will hire Mal when I need windows and a roof!!!

If he did come by the house, he didn't come to the door nor did he ever call me.

After getting quotes from a few highly-rated providers, we decided to go with Mal because we were very comfortable with him (he was great at explaining what he planned to do and what was necessary in a good siding job) and because he quoted us an excellent price. His crew started 2 days later and was finished with the whole house in under a week, despite a day of pouring rain. We're very happy with the way everything turned out - it looks great. Mal was also extremely responsive whenever we called him, calling us back within minutes if he didn't pick up. I would absolutely recommend him and go to him again for another job.

Prior to hiring Professional Home Improvements, I received quotes from 2 other companies that were also highly rated on Angie's List. At the end of the day, my wife and I both felt most comfortable with Mal. He was very genuine and straightforward and took the time to go over every aspect of the job and what we should look for in terms of a quality-install. We both him found him to be trustworthy and could understand why he received such high marks on Angies List. The project began 3 days after we decided to go with PHI and Henry and his team were at the house by 7:30. I don't know how many workers were at the house but it certainly was enough. Henry and his team were very professional and very hard workers. We were impressed with how early they began and the hours they put in despite the weather. The job went exactly as planned and we couldn't be happier.

Professional Home Improvement Inc. was very professional and pleasant. They answered all of our question, gave us the detailed description of the work that was going to be done. They explained the cover of all the windows and what they were going to do. Anytime I called him for questions, he called right back. He was very good. They were professional and kind. They did an excellent job.

Mal was absolutely wonderful. He came out to give us a quote on some storm damage repair that was needed on our cedar shake shingle siding. He did everything he could to help with the insurance company and really went above and beyond in all respects. The only reason I did not use PHI is because the job ended up being too small but he made an excellent referral that will be doing the work. Thank you Mal for everything!!!

I received a few quotes for this siding job. The estimate from Pro Home Improvements was higher than the others, but based upon the reviews here on Angie's List and my conversations with Mal, I was more than comfortable with this vendor. They did a great job, delivered the product as promised, and the installers did a great job. I'm very happy with the results and I'll definitely consider using Mal in the future!!

Our windows are originals from the 60 years ago. They rattled and there was a significant draft from many of the windoes. We found Professional Home Improvement on Angie's List. We liked the reviews about how Mal was very knowledgeable and not pushing the highest priced windows. That was exactly our experience. We told him that we were basically looking to upgrade the windows so it wouldn't be a problem when we wanted to sell the house. He suggested that we go with the lowest level of windows in his product line. He also pointed out the care in installation he and Henry provide. The price was very reasonable. Henry did the measurements and installation. We are very happy with the results. No rattling and no drafts. What a concept! We recommend them highly.

Our windows were original to the house (33 years old) and had been neglected. They had not been painted in many years, and poorly install storm windows had rotted the window sills. The siding had been changed at some point from aluminum to a cheap vinyl siding, which was installed without house wrap. All of this caused serious water infiltration issues. This was a big job, and therefore they worked on one side of the house at a time. They tore all the siding off, removed windows and window frames. Then the new frames were built out and the new windows installed. The windows were trimmed with aluminum flashing that was formed onsite. This trim was not just flat, but had an extra 3D shape to it, which looks great! The siding was then installed for the ground up. If any sheeting was in need to repair, it was replaced. When they reached the roof, they removed the gutters and the facia and soffit boards. Our attic is very shallow and there weren't any soffit vents, therefore we ask to have attic insulation baffles installed and soffit vents created. This has really helped with the attic venting. New facia boards were installed and wrapped with aluminum flashing. On the gabble ends of the house, the facia flashing was also given an extra 3D effect that looks great. This process was continued around the entire house until the windows, siding, and facia/soffits were done. The last part was the installation of gutters and shutters. Special jobs - I had started to replace the sill plate and rim joist under our glass slider, but it became clear that they were going to start the job before I was finished. I asked if this was something they could do for me, and they agreed. We also had them replace the garage service door, which was rotten. Mal agreed to have us buy the door we wanted and they would install it. They also installed the outdoor lighting on the back of the house. Special accommodation - In addition to the rim joist that needed replacing, I needed to finish a portico I had built around the front door, and repair some plumbing in an exterior wall that was only accessible from the outside. Professional Home Improvement and I worked together to allow me to finish both of these jobs, without delaying the window and siding installation. PRAISE: - Mal stands by his products and people. He believes in the abilities of his workers and in the job they all do. - Willing to work with me while I completed other jobs. Mal and Henry were very accommodating. - We love the extra details Professional Home Improvement does. The aluminum trim around the windows is built out a little from the window, and it has a shape to it that really makes the windows pop. We now pay attention to other houses, and these details make everything look great. - They are very flexible and willing to take on extra jobs that we needed done. This was a huge plus for us since we had a couple of extra things that needed to happen concurrently to this job (sill plate & rim joist, garage service door, attic baffles, etc.). - There was no delay in getting the job started. In fact, Mal and Henry started the job 2 weeks earlier than expected because all the materials came in early!! When the windows and siding were delivered the job started. It took about 2 weeks, and this is only because of the Memorial Day weekend. - When I pointed out any issues I had, they were dealt with immediately, and to my satisfaction. COMPLAINTS: (I would probably have these complaints for any contractor) - I felt I had to police the entire installation. If I had not pointed out some issues, I am not sure they would have been addressed. For example, I had to inspect every window when the job was complete to make sure that all cracks were caulked thoroughly, and in one case I found a window that had not been caulked at all. - The foreman did not seem to read through the contract completely. I had to remind him to install the attic baffles and he almost started arguing with me when I told him we were not having standard colonial window casings installed, but rather a special casings (detailed in contract) Overall we are very pleased and would recommend Professional Home Improvement. Mal is very attentive and genuinely proud of his work and his crew. Henry is very easy to work with, and even though we had some issues that needed correcting, he was happy to work with us and make sure we were happy with the finished product. Our house was transformed by the work completed by Professional Home Improvement. It really looks like a new house, and we are so happy with the end result.

We did not hire him because our condo association has a preferred contractor list. But we will contact him again for our future projects.

Professional Home Improvement had such great reviews on Angie's List that we knew we needed to consider them for this job. We contacted Mal at Professional Home Improvement and set up an appointment. He came out, reviewed our insurance paperwork, and discussed extra items we wanted to have done including replacing an unused door with a window and installing new gutters and sofits. Mal listened to our ideas and then suggested some finishing touches we would never have thought of. After meeting with two other companies we selected Professional Home Improvement based on price, experience level, and reviews. The project took a couple of weeks to complete. Mal's crew was professional and picked up at the end of each day. During this project Mal and team did an excellent job of communicating any issues that arose and the progress of the job. When the work was complete, Mal performed a walk through with us and we determined a couple of items that needed additional attention. Each issue was promptly addressed. They even came back out and installed our new address plate at no additional charge. We highly recommend Professional Home Improvement. Mal's extensive knowledge of the industry helped tremendously and he provided a wide range of options to choose from. Mal talked us through every portion of the job. He and his crew did a great job. His crew were very hard workers and flexible when we wanted to change the color of our bay window. Mal cares for his clients, the quality of the finished product, and made sure we were completely satisfied. It was a great experience and he was enjoyable to work with. We are glad we chose Professional Home Improvement, it was our best experience with a contractor thus far.

I had an insurance claim due to hail damage. It is very confusing if you've not seen this before. I saw the good reviews for this company so I called Mal. Actually I left a message and he called me back with in 20 minutes (Still waiting for the other guys to call me back - haha). He came out, looked at my insurance paperwork and said that he would take care of everything. Which his team did - including replacing some damaged gutters and reframing my windows (they weren't done correctly when I had windows done a few years ago. My house looks so nice and the finishing touches are awesome. I love the dryer vent and the water spigot frames!! They did go above and beyond to make my house look great. I have a fireplace threshhold in case I ever wanted to put in a fireplace. It'a been covered by wood since I've been in the house but was rotting away. They guys replaced the wood and refinished it - that wasn't even included in the claim yet they took care of it. I only had to pay a minimal extra over my insurance claim. Unbelievable in this day and age. They picked up at the end of each day and even made sure my gate to the backyard was closed every day. Aside from a few errant nails, there was no mess left. The project took a couple of weeks due to some bad weather but boy was it worth it. Not only did I get new siding but they added additional insulation so I'm looking forward to lower heating bills this winter. Overall, I couldn't be more pleased.

I chose Professional Home Improvements because of the many great reviews on Angie's List. I am very glad I did. Mal came out quickly and gave me a very reasonable quote to redo the whole outside of my house as listed above. He showed me before and after pictures of other projects and my house turned out even better than the past examples. Mal is very knowledgeable about siding and responsive to my questions. He also gave me outstanding suggestions for improving the appearance that I would not have thought of. His installers are efficient and polite The craftsmanship of the installers was excellent. They cleaned up each day as much as possible and cleaned very well at the end. My house has some additions that made putting up siding more complex and they handled everything superbly and blended everything beautifully. They made me feel confident that they would have an appealing solution for anything that arose. They worked hard and communicated very well to me. I am very detail oriented and they exceeded my high standards. I have no complaints at all which is saying a lot on a large project like that. I love how my house looks now. Thanks, Mal.

The president of the company, Mal Graffman came over to do an estimate and went through a thorough explaination of the product. He had helpful photos of installations that were wrong and explained how his installers will do things. He was not pushy and did not try to pressure me to sign right away. He came back several days later to sign the contracts. He kept in good communication, double checking on which windows we wanted before ordering, and then calling me when the windows came in. There was a communication glitch when we first scheduled the windows to be delivered. He had said the windows would be delivered on a Monday unless I heard from him otherwise. Monday came and went with no windows. I didn't try contacting him at this point and just waited to see when he would call as I really wasn't in a big hurry to get the job done. He did call me on Thursday, apologizing, stating that his mother had taken ill and he had to travel to take care of her. I can certainly understand but a call a little sooner would have been appreciated. Once this miscommunication was clarified, the windows did arrive the following week as he said they would and the work was performed when promised. The crew worked well. They were polite and communicated well. They did not leave a mess behind. They even did some caulking of some garage trim that was not included in the project for no additional charge. We were not home when the work was finished so they were flexible with us mailing in the payment. There was some issue with my check somehow getting lost in the mail and taking longer to arrive than expected but Mal was patient and understanding about it. I would definitely hire him to do the rest of my windows and speak to him when we decide to replace our siding. I have no problem recommending him to my friends and family.

I would highly recommend Professional Home Improvements, Inc to my family, friends or anyone looking to have their home re-sided. The job was done professionally and looks great. I will be very happy to show off my house to friends and neighbors. Mal took the time upfront to show us siding samples, foam insulation and took time to explain the pros of what materials he used and reasons he did not use others. He used his iPad to show us various projects he has completed. The pictures also showed various stage of siding installation, demonstrating the below the surface techniques he uses to ensure the siding will withstand wind and stay looking great for years. He worked with our claims adjustor and insurance company to make sure they had covered all details of the siding replacement (Our siding was damaged due to a storm). His crew was professional and did a fantastic job. They kept us informed every step of the way and asked us for approval or preferences when it was needed. The job was done quickly, but not rushed. They took time to do things right - the first time. Some of the existing plywood on our front porch was in poor condition after the crew removed the brick, one call to Mal that evening and the next day the plywood was replaced, great response! Their attention to detail was amazing. The frames on the outlets and outside lights are decorative and of high quality. The aluminum trim on the windows and doors has a decorative profile on the surface, very nice. We could not be happier with the overall appearance of the outside of our house. As with many things... it's in the details that Mal and his team exceeded our expectations. Professional Home Improvements is a must contact if you are considering re-siding your home.

I called Professional Home Improvement on Sept 12th to find out about getting a quote on gutters for my home. I was told that they couldn't schedule a time for an estimate, but they would have the salesman call me the next day to set up an appointment. I had not received a response from anyone at the company for two weeks, so I decided to send an email and see if they were interested in my business. I received an email response five days later letting me know that they wouldn't do gutter work without doing soffit or siding work. If they would have informed me of this when I originally called, I wouldn't have wasted my time in the first place. There was also no mention of the fact that I had called 2 weeks earlier, nor an apology that no one had responded to my original call. Overall I am disappointed with the way that this situation was handled.
