The crew was early for the appointment. They explained everything they were going to do while doing the install. They were done quickly and cleaned up the site. They explained how to operate the system and answered all questions. The two crew members were both friendly and courteous. The crew also delivered for no charge a bakers rack that we purchased from their store. My wife and I needed to check measurements at home so we were undecided on purchasing the rack. After getting home we decided we wanted the rack. We called the salesman and he arranged to have the installers bring the rack. The staff at their are also very friendly and helpful. We stopped at their store twice. Both times we had all questions answered and their was no pressure to buy. A very enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this business.

I had been procrastinating on replacing the gas logs in our two (2), double sided fireplaces for the last year. The log sets we bought were only for one-sided fireplaces and looked goofy in there. I read the reviews on Angie's List and the company with the most consistent positive reviews was Northwest Metalcraft from Arlington Heights. I took a ride to their showroom (about 30 miles) and it was well worth it! I met with Dan in the showroom. He listened to my needs and showed me a log set that would work nicely. The set was $300 LESS than a similar set on line. When I indicated to Dan that our family Christmas party was THE NEXT DAY he went into the backroom and found out that not only did they have them in stock but they could INSTALL TODAY! Frank, his installer/field guy came out at the scheduled and within two hours I had two custom installed log sets up in running in our house. He was knowledgeable, courteous, clean and most importantly showed me how to use them correctly. All in all, one of the best Angie's List experiences that I've had.

We had been considering replacing gas logs in a fireplace in our house. They were very low end and poor quality with absolutely no energy efficiency. As a result, we never used the fireplace. We went to the show room at Northwest metalcraft and the staff there were very knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us on our options. They have a broad range samples right in the store, so it was helpful to be able to see the units and options. We were able to have a representative come and measure and quickly provide a quote on the options. The removal of the old unit and installation of the new one went smoothly. We did have a few hiccups with the unit itself - for example, a rattling noise when the fan was on high and then, a month or two later, some of the finish on the door came off because it had not "cured" properly. In both cases, Scott, who had installed the unit, was very responsive in coming to address the issues, both of which were easily resolved. It is good to know that they stand behind their products and are committed to customer satisfaction. As far as the unit itself, it was definitely a bit of an investment, but one I wish we had made years ago. We LOVE the gas insert. And, it has definitely saved us money on heating as we use it in the family room, which is the most used room of the house and also the coldest, as the only room situated on a slab and between three doors leading to the outside. We can keep that room cozy without having to turn on (or up) the heat for the rest of the house. All in all, I would recommend both gas inserts and Northwest Metalcraft as a place that provides a good selection and commitment customer satisfaction.

We couldn't have asked for more. Scott, Pat , and Ron were terrific. Scott answered any question you had. He even returned a phone call when he was at a trade show in Orlando, Florida. Everything was taken care of from the gas to the electric. They did a great job. They left my house cleaner than when they came and we absolutely love our fireplaces. I would recomend them to anyone!

Would use them again for a fireplace or mailbox. Nice people.

They were very helpful, and knowledgeable of their product. They walked me through picking it out when I went into their store. They came out to my home to help me find the proper place to install it.

They were punctual, clean and friendly. They understand customer service and took the time to do the job right. They followed up on the valve quickly and did a great job. This is a third generation company and they offer top of the line product and expertise.

Northwest Metalcraft did a great job with my fireplace. I had an old brick fireplace which they refaced with ledgestone and converted it from wood burning to gas. They ran a gas line and inserted the new setup with stones and logs and also put on a new door. I had a great experience with the company and would highly recommend. They came out and completed all the work in one day and were very clean. I am very happy with the look of the new fireplace it has updated our entire family room!

They advised a new line was unnecessary and costly. They had us up and running in over an hour!

Since the doors took a while to custom make,they first did the install of the logs so we could start using the fireplace in the dead of winter. e were very happy with the install of the logs, the installer was very careful to keep the area very clean (which I appreciated with a very young baby in the home). For the doors, an individual came out to measure and make a template of our stone fireplace. We then went to the store to finalize which door styles and finish we wanted to select. (they also let us see samples of the finishes in our home which made the selection a little easier). Once the doors came in, they installed them and made sure the mortar was a perfect match to what was already on the fireplace. Everyone who sees the doors can't believe they were added 5 years after our home was originally built. They look like they were always in place. We are very happy with the service we got from them. 5 years ago we also got an infrared grill from them and we were very pleased with their product line and service.

Initially we only had one fireplace installed just to see how we liked it and the installation. We were so happy with everything that we went on and had the other 2 fireplaces installed. Northwest Metalcraft did an excellent job installing our fireplace inserts, gas hook-up, chimney venting, etc. They were very clean and neat. They noticed that a custom made panel was slightly warped during shipment, so they promptly re-ordered a new panel. They paid attention to every detail of the job. We would definitely recommend Northwest Metalcraft to family and friends!

I contacted Northwest Metalcraft about a gas fireplace insert. Scott came out and measured our existing fireplace and explained the different options available. After deciding to move forward, scheduling installation was very easy. They arranged for an electrician to come the day before and install the necessary wiring. The install crew arrived promptly and completed the installation within the 4 hour estimate. They left the house clean and made sure the door was locked when they left. We are very pleased with our new fireplace.

I liked them; they were very quick and responsive. They came out the day after I called them and gave me a pretty accurate estimate on the phone; when they came out they gave me one that was a little bit better. This company did the work quickly and the guy explained a lot in terms of what to expect within the next week. They did a nice job.

It could not have been any better. The service men were timely and courteous. They were also efficient. They offered explanations as they went along and cleaned up after themselves. The work was neatly done. One mistake I made was to neglect to ask for the "Angie's list" discount. I do wish the estimator has remembered to include that.

The quality is excellent. We are so glad we chose to work with them. They listened to our ideas and worked with us to provide the best layout of the kitchen. They completed the job quickly and were very friendly and courteous. I would pick them again for any other project I need that they offer! GREAT company.

Have extensive experience with this store, as they also sell patio furniture, mailboxes, and barbecue equipment. Products and service/installations are consistently first-rate, but not cheap. In this case, the job required custom-built glass fireplace doors, to replace glass doors that had bowed to due to severe heat exposure. Northwest rep visited home to take precise measurements; ordered custom-sized doors; insalled them a month later. There isn't much competition here in this relatively high-end segment of fireplace equipment. Northwest's service is reliable. But pricing is also at a premium.

Excellent. We had put up with a poor performing log set and burner for years. As a see-thru fireplace, its weak flame compromised the esthetics of both our living room and great room. We were concerned that the cost to fix our problem would be very high. When the crew arrived, they looked over our set up and asked us about our concerns and what we wanted to accomplish. My voice was heard! Ryan's explanation of our options and the likely results made a complex decision simple. The time he took to make sure we understood everything converted me from a fearful consumer to an educated buyer. He and his partner Frank were courteous and once we made our mind up, made the changes quickly and left no mess behind. Ryan adivised us on what to expect in terms of initial odor and performance and how to get the most enjoyment out of our purchase left us confident and satisfied with our decision. The installers arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Ryan and Miguel performed a neat and professional installation converting my fireplace to gas logs. They were very neat. Ryan was one of the most knowledgable service people I have ever encountered. I was very satisfied.

. We had the original barbecue that this company had installed for us and we used it for many years. It had metal grating with ceramic coating on it. Over a period of time it had deteriorated and I had it reworked. They had done a good job on it. Eventually it just got to a point when I thought it was old and it was getting rusted we replaced it with a new one. They replaced it. The grill is at the edge of the patio and they had to pull some of the brick out to get into to remove the old one and put the new one. They did a very nice job of it. Over the years they have improved. Now the grills are all stainless steel and are easier to clean, none of the ceramic stuff that chips off. The product itself was very good and it was very carefully done. The problem was I had to get the brick people to come out and redo the bricks because the original pose was a round one and the new one was square so they had to do the change. The bricks would not fit it, it had to be cut. It was not their fault. They were very professional and reputable. I would use them in the future.

They assisted us in selecting the right gas insert. They followed up on delivery date and the installation was seemless. We love it. Overall a great experience. They even sent us a in store coupon! From the sales people to the installers all of the crew was great.

The product is great and the price was good. The people who brought it in were really knowledgeable. They had one of the best servicemen that I've ever had. We haven't had it long but it is working well. We are totally satisfied. The have different products to choose from and their prices are competitive. It is good not to have to lug wood in. The salesmen and service people were knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. They came when they said they were coming. They took care of everything and they were intelligent. It was a pleasure doing business with them.

Northwest Metalcraft did a fantastic job on redoing our fireplace. It really changed the whole look of our family room! Ron & I think Miguel was the other guys name, did most the work on the actual fireplace. Another guy named Ryan came out and ran the gas line. All 3 were very professional and you could tell knew exactly what they were doing. We were most impressed with how clean they were throughout the job. Although we spent a few more $'s than we planned on it was worth it. I would recommend this company to anyone. There is a reason they have been in business so long.

Brian came to the house earlier than expected (he called first) and was very professional and respectful. He automatically took off his shoes and immediately got to work. He easily identified the issue and replaced the gas valve and affected pipes. He explained everything he was doing & gave an incredible amount of helpful information/tips for the future - on everything from how to work effectively with the gas company on issues, to how to arrange the gas logs and embers correctly for efficiency. He was one of the most knowledgeable, skilled and friendly service providers we've ever seen. I highly recommend this company, and we will absolutely do business with them in the future.

WE ARE NOT GOING TO USE THIS COMPANY AGAIN. THEY MISPLACED OUR PAPERWORK AFTER WE PLACED THIS LARGE ORDER AND ACTED LIKE WE HAD NEVER PLACED IT. THE INSTALLER WAS NICE ENOUGH, BUT HE DIDN'T SHOW UP THE DAY HE WAS SUPPOSED TO. HE CALLED AN HOUR AND A HALF AFTER HE WAS SUPPOSED TO ARRIVE, BUT ONLY AFTER WE HAD CONTACTED THE COMPANY. ARRIVED AN HOUR EARLIER THAN THE AGREED UPON TIME FOR THE REARRANGED DATE. MADE PERSONAL CALLS ON HIS CELL PHONE (LOUDLY!) WHILE HE WAS DOING THE INSTALLATION.
