Gray Tree Service

They cut down a tree in a very awkward position in a fenced in corner of the lot. They had to remove a gate to get the stump grinder into the rear lot area. The tree was cut with no damage to the fence, shrubs, or lawn. They did a very expert job and di an excellent clean up afterwards. The cost was exactly as promised and used some special coupons advertised by Angie's List email.

Two years ago, we cut down about 1/2 of our dying birch. We went through no search for a service provider. Someone came by our door that had just completed some work in our neighborhood and offered a good deal to remove the tree. We thought we could save it by removing the dead wood, but no avail. Angie's List posted a coupon for Gray's Tree Service, which prompted us to call them. Unfortunately, we called the day the offer expired, but had them out to look at the tree anyway. After spending $500 two year ago for the work we did, we expected to hear a very high price to remove it all together. The representative from Gray's came out on time and provided a very reasonable estimate - $750 to remove the tree and grind down the stump 18". We jumped at the offer and schedule them to come out on October 15 at 8:30AM. At 8:30 on the 15th there was a knock on the door. Within the hour, the tree was gone, the stump was removed, and they were gone. Fast, accurate, reliable, affordable. Definitely a great company to work with and one we will definitely work with again in the future.

Purcahsed 2 discount coupons for this service; $200 for $400 service credit. Set an appointment and the representative showed up, provided a quote. He spoke with my dad who lives at the property. Continued shopping around to find the price quoted to be the highest, almost twice as much as the others for less work. My dad followed up with Gray Tree Service to determine what insurance and workman's comp they had, the person on the phone was rude and claimed he already had the job and hung up before providing the information. I am out $200 and don't really want to talk to anyone there. As a result, I do not recommend purchasing any coupons unless you have personally dealt with the provider before.

The total cost includes the $200 spent on the coupons. An additional $275 was required. Everyone I came into contact with from this company was courteous, conscious of my time and positive. They arrived on time, confirmed with me the scope of the job, did the job, cleaned up the area where they worked so one could not even tell they had been here. They were just great! would definately use them again.

Bushes were cut, removed from premises and destroyed. After work area was raked and leaves were also removed. They came as a team, some were cutting branches, some moving cut branches, some destroyed and one person did fine trimming. An excellent job reminds of times past when an excellent work was done. They came on time, they did their work, cleaned up and departed. Thanks to the company.

After initial call, Rick's Dad came out within a day, he gave me the estimate same day. Called to get the work done. Rick said that he schedules jobs and would call me on Sunday, which he did, and we set the date to have work done. They arrived on time (a little early even) started working right away. I had 4 trees that needed work, one to be removed and 3 others to be trimmed/thinned. They had a large crew so they were working on 3 trees at one time. The last large tree was in a delicate position between house and garage, they did that one last with all crew around it. During the trimming of this tree he advised me on a large branch they though should be removed but would not do it unless I approved because it would take some additional shade away. I was very happy to have them consider this aspect but I agreed with them to remove this large branch. When they left you would never have known so much work was done except that the trees look so much better. They cleaned everything, raked yard, cleaned leaves from roof. Very happy with this company. I even got to use my Big Deal Coupons that I purchased. Great Job

We had Gray Tree Service come out for an estimate to trim several trees on our property. We have a huge Elm and several large maples that need trimmed due to either dead branches or interference with the house. Also, a small linden tree needed to be removed that has sprung up next to our garage. We learned of Gray's through the Angie List Big Deal, so we were able to purchase $400 of service for $198. We contacted them for an estimate and they came out the next day. The total estimate was $1350. We were able to schedule a crew to come out about 2 weeks later. The crew arrived about 20 minutes early and began working quickly and efficiently. They had a crew of about 8 men working on trimming and clean up. They finished in about an hour and had everything cleaned up quite well. The trimmings were chipped on site and were available for mulch if wanted (we opted for them to haul away the chips). I'm not sure how they compare price wise (we didn't get other quotes because of the Big Deal) but the estimate seemed reasonable for the amount of work involved. Overall, an excellent experience and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them based on my experience.

Overall the experience was very positive. They did their best effort with some very difficult work. They were professional and efficient. They showed a lot of respect for my property. They were a little more than the competition but you get what you pay for.

I had used Gray Tree Service before and was pleased with their work, so I called them again. It took them a while to get back to me, to the point that I called again to see if I had slipped through the cracks somehow, but I think they were just busy. They did eventually return my call with an estimate (adjusted for the Gray Tree Service Bucks I got via Angie?s List) and a date when they would show up to do the work. They showed up as promised and did an excellent job, particularly with cleanup. No more scratches on my car, and no more screeching/clanging from the metal chimney whenever it rains. I would recommend them without reservation, though if you are the sort of person who demands an instant response you may need to take a chill pill and relax. They WILL get around to you.

Rick's dad came out and did the estimate for some trimming. We made arrangements the same day and they came right on time completing the work in less time than I thought was possiblle. Great crew. Couldn't believe how agile the guy was in the tree. They cleaned up the sight well and I was happy they took some of the big pieces to use as firewood to avoid the waste. Already referred them to a neighbor who fell through his garage roof trying to trim his own.

I requested a quote on pruning and trimming some of my trees. I had a follow up call that same day and we scheduled a time for them to provide me an estimate. The estimator arrived promptly and we walked through my lot. He made some notes and provided me with a verbal quote. A few days later, as promised the crew arrived and began the work. The crew leader reviewed the notes he had on the job requirements and we seemed to have a number of disconnects. He called back the estimator to clarify the issues who he arrived on the scene shortly there after. We had a brief conversation we were able to come to agreement on the scope of work and the team continued their trimming. Upon completion of the project I was notified by the team leader and I began my inspection. I quickly noticed that some of the dead wood had not been removed as we had discussed. I was not pleased at this point and I expressed my frustration. The team leader called the owner Rick who contacted me immediately. Rick listened to my issues and we agreed that the lack of a written quote may have contributed to the misunderstanding. Rick then agreed to remove all remaining dead branches and appologized for the confusion. The team went back to work and quite frankely exceeded my expectations. I was extremely pleased with Rick's personal follow through and his desire to find a satisfactory solution. I will use him again in the future.

Wow, was I impressed! These guys did an excellent job. They were very thorough, taking care to get ALL of the suckers from the tree. They were in and out in only 30 minutes. I recommend them highly. The only issues were trying to get the job scheduled, which took a couple of extra calls, and they mashed a few more of my flowers than they needed to when using the stump remover. I stopped the flower mashing or they might have taken out a pretty significant part of my flower bed. They were very careful to avoid damaging anything when bringing the tree down. Overall, I was very happy with the service. With the discount coupon, the price is excellent.

We called Gray's, got an immediate return call. Scheduled an appointment - asked for a certificate of insurance, immediately received a current certificate of insurance. His guys came out - Saturday morning, as promised, up the tree they went, down came the tree. They were fast, efficient, extremely courteous and professional. Very happy with the service, and will absolutely use in the future.

I found it took quite a bit of time for him to call me back, I would usually have to call twice before getting an appointment. Also, after they cut the trees down they didn't clean up the wood chips like I thought they would. The job they did trimming the tree was fabulous, they completely re-shaped the tree, and they were very good at what they did! I probably would not have them back again to cut down a tree, but I would to trim a tree.

We called a few days after one of the storms that caused damage in the area, but I was still contacted in a timely way. They came out within the week to look at the job and give an estimate. It took a few weeks for them to get out to do the job, but it was understandable given the tree damage that had been caused by the storm and it was not an urgent job anyway. Everything was done as stated and they cleaned up well. I can't really evaluate the price since I did not get another estimate. But, it seemed reasonable for the amount of work done.

Gray's came to service our tree at 8am and came with about 8 men! They were so efficient and worked together so well. I had two HUGE branches completely cut and several smaller branches cut. Gray's cleaned up my yard better than my lawn service. I will definitely be using them again!

Quick response from start to finish. Work done as agreed to. If I would have been told that trimming my 6 mature arborvitaes alongside my house would result in their permanent nakedness, I never would have requested that it be done.

Very quick to get estimate, professional, out of 3 they were the highest. They did say they would work with me on the price if i found something cheaper. I dont like to go back and forth about price. i went with the guy who gave me a fair est from the beginning. Thanks anyway.

I called, arranged for an estimate of the work to be done. The estimate was pormpt and the gentleman who gave it was polite and friendly. The work was done shortly after I agreed to the estimate. All the leaves and branches were picked up and disposed of when I came home to find the job well done.

It was fine service. He came out for an estimate right away. The job was pretty small and they were done quickly. They did a good job cleaning up, too.

My overall experience with them went excellent and I would use them again in the future.
