Gray Tree Service

FYI--I am a 77 yr old housebound widow and I am so tired of getting these notes from you. I consider getting out of bed in the morning a major accomplishment. Giving reviews is above and beyond my ability to cope. All I can say is that at the time they did a good job of getting rid of all the extraneous growth on my rather weird set of trees and cleaned up after themselves. However, the odd growths are coming back so I am not sure how I feel about their service. I do know I won't be having any tree work done for a while as the money just isn't there. Feel like I cannot give a fair review--good or bad so I have been reluctant to respond to your constant queries.

An organized team of seven staff members of Gray Tree Service came on time today and surveyed the tree situation and how it should be handled in a safe and efficient manner. Each member of their team had a certain responsibility in removing the large Ash tree. Also, each member of the Gray Tree Service did their job with precision with property and people as a safety priority. They removed all of the tree, branches and tree remains. Also, everything was raked and clean before they left our tree job. The entire group was polite and well-mannered. We would consider using their tree cutting services again. Here is our advice, don't advertise if u don't have enough capacity to do it. The company is offering a deal on line. Angie's list sent us their promotion. After we saw so many good reviews on line, we called them to try to get an idea. Then,... We called them several times and left at least 2 messages without any response. We wait another day, then my husband left another message. Finally, they called us back, but quickly to say they didn't service in our area. We just wondering why Angie's list send their advisement to us since we have already marked our address. Why the company did not clarify it. We didn't have any service from them, because they are picking customers.

I asked them to route out the stump. They said that would be extra because they would have to take down my fence to bring in the router machine. To replace the fence and reset it in concrete would be my expense. I opted not to do that.

I bought two of the Big Deals coupons in early August and heard back from Rick within a few hours. He said they would get it scheduled in a few weeks and would call me the week before to set the date. In actuality, we didn't get scheduled until mid-September, but that wasn't a problem. The crew showed up around 8:30 AM and efficiently did the work in under an hour. They left the yard cleaner than when they started. I would definitely recommend them!

Gray Tree Service was outstanding! They gave me quote, scheduled the job and showed up when promised. They went above and beyond while grinding the tree stump; I needed some roots removed too and they moved my pavers and stacked them so they could get to the roots. I was very impressed at how quickly and professionally they did the job.

The work went great. They were professional and kind.

From the beginning, Gray Tree service was the most responsive and professional of all services contacted, including others listed on Angie's List. Some said they were "too busy" to come out and give an estimate and others never showed up. Grays's came out immediately, even though the service was not to begin prior to demolition, they gave their card, and stated they would be out within 24 hours from a call. When the garage was demolished and the stumps visible, they were called and came out the same day. They did a great job and I would use them again.

They came in with lowest quote. They told me worked would be performed 2 weeks out. Call me the next day, and said they could do it today. They removed tee, hauled away the wood, and ground down the stump. Everything went according to plan.

The foreman working here worked hard, did good work, was professional, and responsive. We would have him do more work for us. However, the owner with whom we had arranged work was disappointing. Admittedly, before his crew arrived, we did some of the work he had planned. We asked if they could trim a couple of other trees in place of the work we did. The owner was very resistant and difficult to communicate with on the phone.

Rick provided an estimate; I brought in another provider who gave a lower estimate. Rick was very responsive and I would consider them if I needed work done in the future.

Provider was very timely and did the job as specified. I did feel they were a little expensive on the rates but Angies list coupon did help.

Services were performed as requested. Provider was able to finish the services without the owner being present. This was very convenient. Would definitely use them again.

Excellent! Gray Service responded promptly to estimate request. Set up an appt, work scheduled and they did an awesome job. Stump, roots and roots from surrounding bushes were removed and the patio was emaculate! Very pleased with response, professionalism and job performance.

Had to wait a bit due to this being an Angie's List group special, but they were responsive, told me when the job would get done, and it was done timely and well.

Rick was very responsive. He came out to look at the job within 3 days of the initial email. We went with another provider with a significantly lower price.

I purchase a big deal coupon for gray tree service because I needed some tree work done. However, when they gave me a quote, they were significantly more expensive than a different service, even with the coupon. I elected not to use Grey and used the other service provider instead. I assume they would have provided good services if I had gone forward with them.

I purchased the $200 for $400 worth of trimming from an Angie's list deal and then contacted Gray Tree Service to schedule a quote. We showed the rep what we wanted trimmed and he gave us a quote that day. We only asked them to do what they could for the $400 of service which ended up being trimming 4 trees in our front yard. The day of the appointment they arrived on time, were extremely professional and a pleasure to deal with. They expertly trimmed the trees and cleaned up nicely. The trees look beautiful and are healthy. We will definitely contact Gray in the future when needed.

Scheduling the work was challenging. Rep was knowledgeable and men who actually do the work were competent. Prices were very high--negated the savings on the Big Deal.

This is the second time we have used their service for tree removal and/or trimming. They are easy to work with and we had no issues. They even kept good records from their first visit, making scheduling the second visit/service even easier. We would use them again.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that we purchased. It was a gift for our father-in-law and he was thrilled. He was very happy. He paid extra but he felt that it was very reasonable. We used them for a Big Deal a few years ago and you would not have known they were there. It was all cleaned up and they were right on time. They were great and that's why we used them for him. He is kind of picky and we didn't want to give him someone that wasn't good.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. They were excellent. They were above and beyond. I think for what they originally agreed to do, it was $99. I think my husband had him do some extra work and we paid extra for that. They gave us some good advice and they did an excellent job. I will definitely use them again in the future.

They do not come all the way to Joliet. It did not mention that when I purchased the certificates. Could you refund my money for the coupons Tree Svc-727771-1 and Tree Svc-727771-2 totalling $198.00 back to my credit card that I used to purchase them with, please. Notify me when it is done please. They got right back to me when I called. Also, I sold the address 454 Stonegate Ln., Manteno, IL last week so I will not be searching for providers around there anymore. Thank you.

They did a great job. They asked if they could take down a couple of small surrounding trees to make it easier to take down the dead tree. I didn't mind as it opened up a corner of my yard nicely. The crew was very nice and professional. They got the job done quickly and cleaned up. I waited a couple of weeks to have the job done, but Rick was very good about keeping me updated, scheduling the job, and coming when scheduled. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Actually, there was a problem with the scheduling. We scheduled one day and they did not show up but we had a hold of them when they came back the following week. It was within a month after we purchased the big deal. The total amount that we paid was about $550. They were quick and did everything in about an hour, so that was nice. They had eight or ten guys here so they just came and did it real quick.
