I purchased an Angie's List Deal for $200 worth of "tree bucks" for $99. In November 2013 I called Gray Tree Service and Rick returned my call in less than a day. We agreed upon a time a few days later that he would stop by to look at the job. He was right on time. He gave me an estimate of $650 for the work, minus the $200 in "tree bucks", for a total expense to me of $549. This seemed high compared to the last time we had the trees trimmed, but we were already committed, having purchase the "tree bucks", so Rick said he would call me the following day with a date he would do the work. After 5 days I finally called Rick back since I hadn't heard from him. We set a date for the work to be done. I was pleased to learn that he could do the work without anyone being at home - that he would just leave an invoice. The date arrived, but when I returned home from work that night, nothing had been done. Rick called the following day to apologize, saying they had an emergency job that had to be done on the date my work was scheduled. He rescheduled for more than a week later. The 4 man crew did arrive a little early and set to work immediately and worked quickly, finishing the entire job in less than an hour. They did trim back the trees exactly as I wanted, and they checked with me to make sure I was satisfied. They were careful to move some items in our yard to avoid damaging them, and they did an excellent job of cleaning up and removing all the branches that were trimmed. I would consider using Gray Tree Service again because of the quality of their work, but would probably get estimates from other companies first, due to the higher than expected cost.

We asked them to leave some branches as we would use them for back yard fires. They did not. So this was a customer service fail. And they have not returned emails inquiring why thy did not. The trimming we a bit harsh to an amateur's eye.

It was wonderful and I plan to keep using their services.

They came on the date promised and did a nice neat job. I had purchased 2 pre-paid coupons and owed a balance of $300. I mailed the check to the P.O. box listed 2 days after the service and 10 days later received a phone call from the owner saying that he had not received the balance. When I called back to give him the number of the check he said "well, I didn't get it, sometimes the checks don't make it to the P.O. box, but that's not my problem." I was irritated and said that I was going to wait 2 weeks to see if the check comes through, and if it did not I would send another check. 2 weeks later, I sent another check. I will not be using them again.

They were quick to respond to my initial request. Gave me a quote and performed the work the following week. I could not have been happier with the work they did. They came during the day while I was not at home and did a great job trimming the tree. But, more importantly, I wouldn't have known any work was done. The clean up was perfect.

Trimmed a portion of neighbors tree overhanging on my property.If this is a $200 value then they are receiving more than $100.00 per hour.When rep called offered to upgrade service in two other segments which would have cost another $300.00. Too expensive and very little was included in the $99.00 special deal.

Gray Tree Service trimmed two trees for us. We were very happy with their work. We will use then again in the future.

For the most part it turned out fine. I had them take down one walnut tree and trim another tree that had a big branch hanging over the house. Scheduling went smoothly; they were able to come out within 2-3 weeks. I felt I got a good service. I mostly dealt with owner’s father who made some racist comments while performing the work that was directs towards me. I spoke with the owner who apologized about the comments.

We bought an Angie's List Deal.Gray's contacted us right away and took a look at the trees. We told them we needed them cut back from the wires. They were punctual, quick and cleaned up the debris. The only reason I am scoring a B is that the shape of the trees is not what we expected and some are still in/near the wires, also hard to know if they just increased the price over the deal price, or if it was a deal at all.

He was great. Very straightforward and made recommendations for the best value for the money. | |Once completed, the work was solid, but it took over two months to get a bid on the project and another two weeks to get the work done. I've used other services that were more responsive.

Removed a few large limbs from a 50' walnut tree. Excellent work on the tree and cleanup. The communication with the initial estimate was poor, leaving me to have to speak with the foreman about the bill because the original verbal estimate (which I felt was 15% high based on previous estimate from another company) was not written nor properly communicated to the foreman. He immediately made good on it which is largely why I recommend them.

That was an okay service. They were responsive and they was easy to schedule with them. They came out and trimmed some trees that were hanging over our roof. 3 trimmers came out and it didn’t take them very long; about 45 minutes to an hour. They also had good cleanup.

The owners were extremely responsive after my original contact with them. The appointment was scheduled quickly and the crew showed up on time, was very professional, focused and quick and they did an excellent job. The price was a bit on the high side for my liking, but the hassle free service was worth it. I would use them again.

They trimmed my magnolia tree, which was growing too close to our house and over the roof. It looks more proportional now, and is not as close to the house.

Removed a large dead elm tree from my mother's backyard. It was complicated because of some power lines in the vicinity. |We were very satisfied with their work.

It went very well. They did great work of cleaning up the yard afterwards, and even cleaned the gutters and the deck where the leaves had fallen. I would recommend them because they were excellent.

This was a "special" deal: $200 of work for $99.00. I dealt with Rick who did charge an extra $100.00 for the work I wanted done, but that seemed reasonable and still a good bargain. My neighbor and I split the cost as the tree was actually in his yard, but the limbs were growing on our side and interfering with a cable as well as dropping all their leaves on our garbage roof and gutters. It was not easy access to these limbs but they did it in a short time without damage to phone or cable TV wires. They were professional, cleaned up the left-over debris, were prompt and overall did a good job.. I would definitely use them again.

I saw the deal on Angie's list for $300.00 worth of work for $200.00. So I bought the coupon and started to play phone tag with the company. There was a lot of phone tag because I couldn't get the owner to call me back on my cell phone, as I was not at home all the time. Finally got it scheduled and a crew came out and did a great job and cleaned up too!

They were right on time both for the estimate and service call. Not the most friendliest bunch of workers, but I really had nothing to complain about. They did what they were supposed to when they were supposed to do it, and did it well and within a great price range. When the first guy came to the house to give us an estimate, he seemed like he didn't really want to be there, but he really seemed knowledgeable. (to his credit, it was VERY cold that day) It also seemed like he pulled a number out of his head when it came to giving us an estimate. Because it was under what we were expecting to pay for all that we needed, we agreed to the service, and he wrote the quote on a business card, and marked the trees/branches with ribbons so his workers would be able to identify which ones needed work. Which I thought was nice so that I didn't have to go outside again to explain everything all over to the foreman. The day before the crew came, I noticed a Angie's List Deal, so I called the company to see if I could purchase that deal, and he simply responded saying he'll just give it to me, and not go through all the fuss of having to pay for it online. Very simple. Very Easy. Then the crew came, they didn't ring the doorbell or anything to let me know they were here. I just saw their truck outside, and looked around and saw them getting ready to work. I approached them to see if they had any questions, but they didn't. They finished the job very quickly, and I waited to hear from them again, but I didn't. I went out to their truck and the foreman gave me an invoice with the balance amount. No fluff, no "call me if you need anything". Just good hard work for a good price. I really appreciated that. The more I think about it, this company seems like they just don't waste time. They are efficient, hard working, and that's how they can save you money. I didn't know how I felt about it before, but I really really appreciated this company and would use them again in a heartbeat!

Excellent. On time, professional, friendly, and they even communicated with my cranky neighbor allaying fears/concerns about work my her house. Highly recommend.

Trimmed a big tree in back yard. It took them a long time to actually come out & do the work. Actual cost was twice the amount of the quote. The clean up could of been better.

They trimmed a couple of trees for us and it went great.

Tree removal and cleanup was done quickly and professionally without issue. These guys obviously know what they're doing and had a good, experienced crew.

The job went very well and it was quite amazing to watch these experts! Our trees had not been trimmed for over ten years and they looked bad. The Grey Tree Service crew began at the top of each tree and as the branches dropped to the ground, someone collected them all and they disappeared. In a short time, my trees were all trimmed, my yard was cleaned up. We were very pleased.

I had them come for estimate after saying I had two coupons from Angies. One honeysuckle in back yard needs trimming. Very minor trim needed on front tree. Got estimate of 800 - which I though too high - even with Angie's coupon.
