They arrived promptly and performed all their work in an extremely professional and competent manner, except for our 3 complaints: 1) (Minor) left a 3-foot stump. Cut it down to about 1 foot after we complained. 2) (Minor) Cleaned up very thoroughly except for a an area of sawdust around the dead trees that will probably kill the grass underneath. 3) (Major) Left a gash across part of our back yard (which we did not notice until we cut our grass).

Didn't. It is not really appropriate for me to give him an overall grade, as he did not provide any service, but I was required to choose one.

Gray tree services were the most responsive and competitive in price as well. They also had great coupons for Angies list members which helped even more. Saved us quite some money for the unexpected event. The service was excellent. The crew was really fast, very careful and knew what they were doing. They carefully pruned the other trees and removed the fallen tree. Very prompt and efficient in their service.

I bought two Angie's List deals from Gray Tree to have a tree that was damaging our roof removed. Rick was very prompt in reaching out to me to set up an estimate appointment. He gave me the quote, scheduled the service and everything went smoothly from there. The crew was punctual (early!), efficient and pleasant.

Came out as scheduled and provided free estimate. Visit was short, professional and courteous. I went with another service provider who gave a more thorough quote after walking my property. I would look to get an estimate on future work that may come up. I called Angie's List to cancel job and request refund of deposit. It is being processed.

We'd purchased an Angie's List coupon for $200 worth of tree trimming for $99. The work required for our tree would cost a little more that that and we were told that up front. The crew arrived a little ahead of schedule. The foreman took care to try and find the owners of the cars parked under the tree (but to no avail). The crew removed three big branches, being very careful not to let anything fall onto the parked cars. They were finished in about an hour. they took away all the debris and raked our yard so you wouldn't even know they were there. They did a VERY good job. we are pleased. The cost was just as they quoted. There was nothing extra added to the bill.

Punctual, professional and excellent work. The work area was fully cleaned up and left in the same condition it was found.

The debris was removed, the area was left tidy, and I received a cord of wood from my old and favorite tree. This was an excellent experience with a very conscientious and fine business, Gray Tree Service.

The experience was great - they coordinated with ComEd because the tree was near a power line, contacted us with the details and go the job done quickly. It looks great and we were very happy with the price/service!

They came out and took a look at the tree that needed service and they wanted to charge me triple the amount that the deal was for.

They were quick. They took care of the tree and got rid of it. So the service was good.

There were extra costs involved, and we went with another provider.

The service went fine. A crew of 4-5 came out for the job. They were good with the cleanup after the job. I had no problems scheduling the deal.

They showed up promptly on the day we scheduled, worked to clear all the branches that my insurer was concerned about (plus a few more as preventive trimming), and thoroughly cleaned up every single branch and twig knocked off the tree. Plus, my kids were curious and wanted to watch, and the crew smiled and waved and explained to my older kids what they were doing and why.

This is the second year we have used them. Scheduling was easy. They were on time when they delivered. They were courteous. The quality of work with the discount was definitely worth it. It was fantastic and I would highly recommend them!

It took a little while to get the appointment scheduled, but that was mainly due the fact that ComEd had to shut off the power and they were dealing with the aftermath of a big power outage in the area due to a storm. Gray's showed up on time and got to work. In no time the tree was cut and out. They were very professional and it was amazing how quickly they were able to cut down the big tree. The workers were polite. The clean-up was not as tidy as I would have liked as some of the workers left some of their cups from lunch. I also wished that the ground stump bits were removed. I was told that my landscaping company was supposed to take care of it, but I was told afterwards that they did not so it looks like I'll be removing that next year myself in the spring. Overall, it was really great and it was the best price I had and I got several quotes.
