The first visit did not go as planned. One limb was removed. Unfortunately, there was more to be done. It took awhile to reschedule but ultimately the job was completed.

I have a very large 70+ foot Coffee Tree on my property that is situated in a mostly inaccessible location between my house and a neighbor's house. The tree has been a problem since I bought the house last year as the branches were contacting the roof and actually caused some roof damage. There were also a number of broken branches that were also dangerously hanging off the very top of the tree. I contacted at least 7 tree companies for estimates. Two of those tree companies said the job was too risky given the proximity to the houses and wouldn't even give me an estimate. Gray Tree Service came to the rescue and was by far the best price. They came out promptly after I contacted them and gave me a quote right on the spot. A few days later they came with a crew and had the job done in a couple of hours. They cleaned up and you would never know they were there. Very professional and a good price. I would definitely recommend this company.

These guys very professionals got the work done in less than half hour. Worth every penny i paid. -- Initially i thought their quote was high, but one i called other tree removal providers all of them quoted more than Grey tree service. and once they showed up they were very professional they do only tree removal but very preofessional and tehse guys are doing this for generations i guess. Definitely very satisfied with work. -- One minor hick up was, one of my tree was very close to fence so they had to remove fence and put back in that process fence was not put correctly that part of fence came down couple of weeks later. luckily i had some other guys doing patio work. I gave then $100 more to replace with new patio fence. (wood costed like $100 more). Didnt bother to call these guys again as i knew the tree night have been the support for fence not coming down all these days and once the tree came out next week stroke brought it down.

Getting the initial appointment set up was a little challenging - but later I learned that Rick does his scheduling on Sundays. The job was amazing! A crew of 8 showed up at noon to take down my Russian olive. A hour and a half later it was gone, with only a mound of wood chips left. They were very careful with the yard and houses. I was very impressed and would definitely use them again.

The crew showed up on time and did a great job, especially when cleaning up. Except for the missing trees, you couldn't even tell they were there.

We chose Gray Tree Service from 4 bids we received for extensive tree-trimming around our house. A crew of 6-8 men showed up on time, and began immediately trimming overhanging limbs as well as branches, with two men up in the trees. They were under the direction of the owner, who remained on-site throughout the entire operation. They also extensively trimmed and shaped two magnolias in front of the house. All the wood that was cut down was chipped into their truck. After they finished all trimming, remaining debris was swept up. The job was completed in about three hours, and the quality of work exceeded our expectations. We'd recommend Gray Tree Service to anyone, and would definitely use them again.

Everything went great. From estimate to completion in less than a week. Cleanup was thorough. Price seemed a little high compared to previous experiences.

After I left several voicemails with providers, Rick was the first of the group to get back to me. He was helpful and courteous and stopped by to estimate the job shortly after our conversation. His crew (a 6 person crew) did an excellent job of getting in, cutting down the tree (including climbing up and paring limbs), falling the tree from a tight location with perfect placement, grinding the stump and cleaning up the area. They seemed very knowledgeable and were very efficient (in and out). They were also very helpful on a specific request to leave some firewood that I had. All in all, I was extremely satisfied with this process and would use them again anytime.

Gray Tree Service removed an Ash tree that was dying from the Emerald Ash Borer. It was a huge tree in a small, close quartered back yard - butted right up against our neighbor's property. The team was very careful, cleaned up thoroughly and before we knew it the tree was gone. They also trimmed our other backyard tree so it stays healthy, and strong. Gray has been taking care of our trees for the past 10 years and there's no other team we trust more to do a great, thorough job at a good price.

This is the second time we have used them. Our tree was right next to our pool. They were very careful with cutting it down, but also fast and efficient. It's so impressive to watch them work. They are a bit pricey, but the quality of their work is great.

Rick came out within a day of my initial call to survey the area for an estimate. He called with the quote that evening. When I called back to accept the quote, he answered all of my questions and gave me a day when they would do the job. We had landscape river rock surrounding the tree that we had to clear away for safety from the stump grinder, and Rick gave us plenty of time and notice to get that done before their arrival for the job. He was great to deal with! On the day of the job, the crew arrived when scheduled. They were all very nice, and worked very efficiently, safely, and neatly! There were about 7 or 8 of them so it really moved along quickly. They were respectful of my yard and other plants as well as my neighbor's. When they were done, it was all cleaned up very well. I will call them for any future tree removal needs, and certainly refer them to neighbors and friends!

Cost way beyond the original deal purchased, feel like over priced, but job well done.

I called on Tuesday after chasing another vendor for months. He went out that day to look at the job. I said I work 10 minutes away and could meet him, but he said it was not necessary. He called Thursday, gave me a price and said they could do it that day since they have another job in the area. I said yes and when I got home from work the branch was gone. Again, I said I could meet at the house to give a check for payment. He said not necessary, an invoice would be left in the mailbox.

We were very pleased with their service, from the free estimate to scheduling the work date to the actual work that was done. At one point on job date, there were over a dozen men working on our property. The whole job was completed within 3.5 hours. The workers were courteous, conscientious, and efficient. They were very safety-conscious. Workers cleaned up after themselves and were careful of the surroundings as they worked. The large tree that was removed was very close to our house, so we appreciated what a good job they did to take it down without harming the house. Gray Tree Service had the equipment and the manpower to do the job well. We liked the timely response from Mr. Gardner to our online request for a free estimate. He was on time for our appointment. We liked how he broke the job into three parts so we could choose to do the whole project, or just part of the project. It helped to see how the work was broken out. All our questions were answered. We chose to do the whole project at once. Communication was very clear throughout the process. When we called to schedule the job, we got a response to our phone message right away. We had additional phone conversations to clarify the project and confirm that we had applied for our permit from the Village. Please note that Gray Tree Service is registered with our Village to do work. On the morning of the job, workers were onsite and setting up equipment by the start time. Stumps and smaller items were ground up efficiently. A few larger sections of the large tree trunk were placed on the parkway, intended for pickup within a couple of days.** We were especially impressed with the way the workers cooperated and interacted with each other, the organization of the project as it progressed, the neatness of the work process, and the careful cleanup of our yard. We would do business again with Gray Tree Service and recommend them to others. **Note, the truck was unable to come on the date specified, but Gray called ahead to let me know & the trunks were picked up as promised, just two days later than originally specified. Again, we were pleased with the communication & carry-through by this service. We recommend them & would use them again.

Generally good, Took a little while to get the work scheduled, but they were busy. There was a little misunderstanding on one part of the work, but that was resolved quickly. It would help if the person providing the quote was present to review the work with the crew when they arrived instead of having to phone and clarify some things. I hired them because of Angies List coupons they offered, otherwise their pricing was average. Very professional work.

I remember a man coming out. He looked at this, that and the other. He was doing an estimate. He said, "Well, for that money we could do this and this," and I said, "Okay." I live in a duplex with very small number of trees. They sent a crew of five or something, which was about three or four more than would be needed for any kind of a job here. A disgruntled person called me from there. They wanted more money. I thought, "Well, I'm never going to use them again," because it was so strange to have someone call up and say that they needed more money because after all, they sent five people out. I have a teeny little patch of yard. There wouldn't have been room for them to even hardly stand on the property. So that was strange. So, no more Gray Tree Service. The work they did was fine.

Highly professional team and very courteous through the whole ordeal. Quote was at least 25% less and quality of work and clean-up was excellent.
