Description of Work: Citrano came to my home, took down my festoons which were nailed onto a board above the window in my living room. They took them back to their place, cleaned them beautifully and then returned and rehung and steamed them in my home. It was worth every penny and they look brand new. Very courteous and punctual.

Description of Work: We had a very old Victorian love-seat refinished, and reupholstered. From our first phone call to the finished product, we were nothing but pleased. Our piece is absolutely stunning. The attention to detail is impeccable, and the workmanship outstanding! Staffers at Citrano made it easy for me to express my desires for the restoration. We were able to come in at different stages to check in on the process. For those who know how long we have wanted to refinish this piece, they cannot believe it. The complements keep coming. Our "new" love-seat is just beautiful. We would highly recommend Citrano to anyone considering any type of reupholstering!

Description of Work: Reupholstered (4) love seat cushions, and re-stuff (2) love seat pillows, and make a new arm cover to match the existing one provided. They reupholstered the pillows they were only supposed to put new stuffing in- which they fixed; lost the arm cover I provided for duplication- I went home and measured and created a pattern as they requested and still have not recieved the arm covers I paid for. While the workmanship was great, the dozens of phone calls I made were never returned

Description of Work: I sent the provider a set of pictures of the piece of furniture at the suggestion of the girl who answered the phone; in fact, I sent them twice. She said that Michael Citrano would get back to me "today" with a price. No one has gotten back to me with a price. I will go elsewhere rather than continue to call. I told her that I had gotten their name from Angie's List because he had gotten good reviews. The responsiveness is ridiculous for a very small chair.Note: I had told them at first that I had given my email in error (it used my icloud email) so I wrote back and gave me gmail account. No answer.

Description of Work: Mike and his team essentially rebuilt a chair that has been in my family for over 50-years. They fixed the frame, replaced padding and did an amazing job of installing the new fabric and intricate seams. This chair likely looks better than when it arrived from the manufacturer in the late 1950's. These are upholstery craftsmen. They delivered the chair to my home and carefully brought it inside-no problems. If you have a vintage item or something with sentimental value (like this chair) then I'd highly recommend Citrano.

Description of Work: They refinished a dining table with two leaves (including repairing and gluing one leg), refinished and repaired/glued 8 matching chairs. They did such a wonderful job and did it promptly, picking up as scheduled, etc. I just called them to have them do more furniture for me. This is a wonderful, old fashioned service-type company. I highly recommend them.

Description of Work: We had 3 low stools with old, torn cushions. We were given the choice of covering with in-stock materials (lower cost) or custom fabrics (higher cost). We opted for in-stock materials. The stools were done within the time-frame quoted, for the cost quoted, and look great! And owners were very personable, great to deal with.

Description of Work: I had two large recliners re-upholstered. Mike Citrano called me same day i left him an email, and came out to look at the project the next day. They picked up the chairs about a week later, and delivered them finished in one week. They beat their own time frame, charged a very reasonable price, and did a very good job.

Description of Work: What can you say except: EXCELLENT!!!! They show up when they say they will. They do outstanding, high quality work. They estimate, they pick up and they deliver. It works like it should and I highly recommend them. Citrano Upholstery reupholstered a small sofa (or love seat) plus a cornice. I used fabric that I found at LoomCraft in Vernon Hills. Citrano did more than just recover what I already had. They went beyond that to make my small sofa look excellent. They put in extra foam padding and did extra piping on the bottom. I didn't think of that ----- but they did!!!! It looks great.

 + 0 moreThis is the second time we've used Citrano Upholstery and we were even more pleased this time than the first. We contacted Michael to set up an appointment for him to come to our home and examine the love seat and sofa. He arrived right on time and was very friendly and courteous. He gave us an estimate on the spot for the labor and recommended that we come to his shop to look at fabric samples. He did offer to bring samples to the house but we opted to go to his shop. Once we picked out the fabric, he told us it would take about a week for delivery of the fabric and he would pick up the sofa and love seat at that time. By the way, the fabric was 50% off. Once the fabric arrived, Michael contacted us and we made arrangements for him to pick up the love seat and sofa. He arrived right on time and he and his worker exhibited a great deal of care in removing the furniture from our home to ensure nothing was damaged. He gave us an estimate as to when the work would be completed and it was completed right on time. He delivered the love seat and sofa exactly when he said he would and exhibited the same care in replacing the furniture in our home. I've got to tell you, they looked better than new! Oh yes, I almost forgot, the only payment he wanted up front was for the fabric. The rest of the payment was made when he delivered the furniture and there was no separate charge for pickup or delivery. His work is most professional and we would certainly recommend him to anyone. As a matter of fact, we plan to utilize his services to re-upholster two more of our chairs!!
Description of Work: First, it should be noted that Citrano Upholstery has relocated to a new facility at 1612 W. Northwest Hwy., Arlington Heights, IL. 60004. Re-upholstered a recliner sofa that had sun damage to the fabric and a love seat with loose cushions. The company also provided pickup and delivery service.

 + 0 moreI stopped by the shop and described what I needed; asked that the foam to be used be very firm, as these had been too soft originally. Owner showed me the foam piece which was very firm and material that would wrap around. Had to order another piece in order to do both cushions. Cost was $130 per cushion and it would be ready in approx 4 days. He called when ready in 3 days. I was very pleased with his work and the cushions look great! He also does custom furniture and was re-framing a chair when I came to pick up the cushions. Appears to be very experienced.

We were quite satisfied with his work and the time frame. The chairs turned out beautifully and we were satisfied with the walnut finish.

 + 0 moreWe chose what we thought would be firm enough and he did the work in exactly the number of days that he told us he would and did an excellent job but it turned out to be too firm. He had told us if it didn't work to bring it back and he would make it right. So I took it back and he ended up adding to the original stuffing and it turned out to be perfect. He also gave us the foam backing he had used that was too firm and did not charge us for the additional work. I know if I ever have any more upholstery work that needs to be done I will definitely use him. Along with upholstery work, he also does furniture refinishing and custom furniture design.
Description of Work: I know this is not a major upholstery job but I was so pleased with the service that I wanted to add them to your list of quality businesses. We have a Bernhardt Love seat sofa that had a back cushion that basically was too loose and had no back support so we decided to take it by to see if they could re-stuff it with a firmer backing.
