The door was working okay, but I am so glad I had the preventative maintenance done. The spring on my garage door broke the day after New Years. I called Rich that morning and he was able to come out to the house that same day. Rick lubed the garage door and pulley so it would operate less noisy and more efficiently. I was pleased to have the spring repaired so quickly as I had to return to work the following day.

We used the special price offer for the tune-up, and paid an extra $191 for replacement of the springs. One of the springs was broken, and both needed replacement.

Unfortunately, it did not indicate as such but after purchasing the deal and a second email, I was informed that they do not service the Niles area.

My appointment was on November 21 between the hours of 10:00 and 12:30. My husband stayed home from work and no one showed up nor did they bother to call. More was lost on both ends, the missing hours from work and the prepaid fee for services never rendered. I choice this company based off the reviews that others wrote, however I would never hire them again and do not recommend others to do so as well.

Called American Doors and the owner came to my house while I was at work and fixed the issue within a couple of hours. Was extremely satisfied with the speed and professionalism of the company, and will recommend them to my neighbors, along with anyone else that I know who owns a garage in the Chicago area.

Rich arrived on time and explained what the work that needed to be done. He proceeded to complete the work in 60 mins and everything is working just great. He cleaned up the work area and removed the old parts. A+++++ Would hire again or recommend to anyone!

Mr. Cruz was cordial and timely in his response to my request for scheduling of service. He was, likewise, courteous and professional on the day of service. He began our encounter by asking me if I had been experiencing any particular problems or had any concerns. He then proceeded with his work of inspecting my overhead garage door, its constituent parts, and applying lubricant to all of the rollers. I have a great deal of respect for a professional who is open to thinking outside the box. Mr. Cruz demonstrated such open-mindedness when I expressed concern about my door's rubber bottom. While the rubber piece was performing well, I wanted to find a way for it to form a tighter seal with the floor. At issue was a lack of levelness in a small portion of the concrete driveway that abutted to the garage floor. To compensate for this, we both thought that putting something inside the bottom would provide enough compression resistance to provide the desired seal. Mr. Cruz graciously acquiesced to my idea of using some Styrofoam tubing I had on hand. He said he thought the item was good and would work. I appreciate his effort to humor me and try the idea. Mr. Cruz was considerably thorough in his work, in that he checked not only the door, but also items associated with the door. The door opener's wall control switch was checked, bulbs changed, chain lubricated, and opener arm adjusted. When all was said and done and Mr. Cruz had completed his work, my garage door was noticeably quieter and smoother in its operation and when it closed. I would gladly recommend the gracious and highly competent Mr. Cruz to everyone who might have a need for his services. A. Woods

Upon inspection, it was pointed out that no replacement was necessary. I re-booked to inspect a second condo I owned, and, again, it was determined no replacement was necessary. I have finally found an HONEST repairman!!
