Bought this as a special and didn't expect to be able to get an appt for a while but they fit me in less than a week after purchase. Showed up on time did what he needed to do and checked out my noisy garage door and fixed it with some WD40! I used that everywhere else I don't know why I didn't think to use it on the garage door. He was very fast, professional and I would definately call them again if I need any type of garage door work.

From the first contact with staff from American Doors, Inc, I was extremely impressed. Vickie listened to my requests for repairing my garage door openers and installing keyless entry units for 2 garages at two different properties that I own. One garage door was an "emergency" because it was an EXTREMELY heavy 2-car garage door located on a property newly leased by tenants with two small children. Because Rich could not come that day, she put me in contact with him by phone immediately for safety advice until he could perform the work during his next available time slot (only 2 days later). Rich was prompt, professional, and extremely knowledgable. He showed me the "issues" as he fixed the garage door openers and he adjusted the door so that it could no longer be dangerous, even if the opener needed to be disabled for some reason (e.g. power outage). He also provided me with detailed instructions for performing easy, routine maintenance to prevent future need for expensive repairs and to ensure that the doors remained safe. American Doors honored their generous Angie's List discounted offer and also gave me an extremely fair price for the additional work the doors required. Overall, It was an excellent experience. Not only did I get the external keypad installed, but I also had work done which I had been thinking about taking care of for some time. The real bonus was discovering the problems caused by the original garage door opener installer, and having them taken care of.

This is my first purchase from Angie's List and I am very pleased with the level of service and professionalism from American Doors. I just purchased the Big Deal on Saturday night and here it is Monday afternoon....done! Rich from American Doors actually called ME(!) to line up an appointment and was able to see me immediately. He listened to my garage door concerns, explained the issue, installed the entry pad, ran through the instructions and now it's off my check list. I found him very professional, he didn't try to sell me anything, didn't make me feel less important to be a big deal customer, and took the time to make sure I understood how everything worked. I hope I don't have any more garage issues in the near future, but if I do, I will happily have American Doors back!

He arrived on time and was done in the timeframes he told me it would take. He did a great job, did not oversell me and stuck to his quote exactly! In addition, he was kind enough to do a bit of clean up/tune up on my opener. I would recommend him 120%... nice person, great work!

Went well. RIch gave me a 12-2 pm window and was there by 12:20. He got the keypad programmed and did a quick service on my garage door. This was done as part of the Angie's list coupons. Very satisfied.

I bought the big deal on a Friday and Rich from American Doors was able to schedule a time on Monday to install the keypad. He came out exactly when he said he would, installed a nice keypad, made sure the garage door was working properly and oiled it to make sure it keeps running smoothly. This was an excellent, hassle-free experience.

My cable and pulley wheels had broken causeing my garage to get stuck and not go up on one side. I made the appointment on Saturday morning and they were out the same day and on time. He immediately located the problem, confirming what I had seen, and them gave me the price for fixing it. He recommended that I get both sides fixed and gave me the quote both ways, with and without the other side. The other side seemed to be in better conditions, so I opted to get the first side fixed. He installed new parts and cable, and within the hour, the garage door was operating perfectly. He did what I expected him to do and the price was reasonable for the work perfomed, which included parts. I would definitely use them again.

Richard Cruz is a no-nonsense professional. I was totally blown away by the superb, prompt response I received. I placed a service request late Monday, May 21st, 2012 via e-mail; Rich responded on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012 & informed me immediately that he would come by Wednesday, May 23rd, 2012 to give me an estimate. I was totally impressed with how Rich explained what was to be done in detail & was upfront with the estimate. All this is a reflection of Rich's work ethic & honesty, thus, I highly recommend American Doors, Inc. without hesitation. Thank you Rich for an excellent job!!

The company was excellent. That was Richard Cruz who replaced my overhead garage door and opener. He explained how everything worked after he performed the service. I asked him any questions I had and he was very free with giving the information and also information on how to service the door, for maintenance. It was a very enjoyable experience and I feel very comfortable with his price. I compared prices and I had gotten higher prices with other companies. The personal service he gave was exceptional. I was really pleased with his work and I would refer him to other people.

Wow. I purchased a big deal coupon last night and received a call first thing today from Rich to schedule an appointment. He was available today so we booked it. Rich gave me an hour window between 12 & 1 and showed up on time. Rich did everything I needed - from replacing my non-working external keypad to repairing a light fixture on my main opener unit - to lubricating all of the hinges in my garage door - much quieter now. In addiiton to the work, Rich took the time to explain the problems he found and how we was going to go about fixing them. All in all a great experience, superior value and I would highly recommend American Doors to anyone that asks.

I called Mr. Cruz yesterday afternoon, told him the problem. He told me the time that he would be out the next day. He was punctual, courteous, and very professional. He gave me good advice on how to maintain the garage door throughout the year. I would use his services again, and recommend him to my friends without hesitation.He knows what he is doing, and has very reasonable rates.

A $399 Angie's List Big Deal was purchased to replace the garage door opener with a more powerful opener to eliminate door sticking during colder weather. Mr. Cruz answered the initial call and agreed to a Saturday a.m. appointment three days from the call. Rich arrived ten minutes early and was pleasant and professional. He inspected the heavy, wooden, two-car garage door and the automatic opener. Without hesitation, he pointed to two small adjustment dials on the back of the opener and informed us that the dials were set to be too sensitive, i.e., to force a door reversal upon encountering trivial impediments to door travel. He adjusted the settings, and demonstrated that the door would still safely reverse if a person or animal blocked travel. He then inspected the gearing of the opener and informed us that the opener was adequate to power the heavy door and that with some lubrication it could still function for years to come. He then informed us that he was prepared to honor the Angie's List Big Deal and install a more powerful opener, but his inspection revealed that we really only needed the adjustment and lubrication. We opted for adjustment and lubrication and Rich proceeded to lubricate other moving parts in the opener as well as the main track, all door wheels and all hinges. Upon learning that we had a keyless entry pad that wasn't installed, he offered to, and did, install the pad. With a recommendation for a future lubrication schedule, he completed the job within 45 minutes. Rich impressed us as a responsible and honest businessman intent on building his business by earning it. Rich provides a first-class service and we couldn't be more pleased with his efforts. We highly recommend Rich Cruz and American Doors, Inc.

Rich contacted me soon after I purchased the Angie deal. He asked when I wanted it done, gave him my next day off work and we were set. He showed up on time, took his time explaining how the keypad worked and how to reset it if something went wrong. He sprayed and tweaked all the hinges. Told me about some issues, but was quite clear that they did not need to be addressed right now. I truly gave him every opportunity to tell me I needed to replace the door, or the springs, or the opener itself. He was very honest in telling me that nothing needed to be replaced. I appreciate that. He gave me advice on maintaining the door (WD-40, etc). That garage door has never opened so smoothly (and quietly) in the 11 years I have lived here. This is a guy you can trust.

I purchased the special deal from Angie’s list for this service. He was an efficient guy. He explained to me every step of the way what he was going to do. Once he installed the particular object on the exterior of the door, he took me through the operation of it of how to re-open and close the door a few times. So he showed me how to use it. I would definitely use him again if I had a problem or if I have any issues with my garage door. He came many times and so he was dependable. He did what he said he was going to do and so he was trust worthy. The price had already been determined and so it wasn’t a problem there. His price was good. I had a good experience with him.
