He came on time and explained everything he did, which was nice. My only complaint was 2 weeks later a gear broke but he explained it had nothing to do with his earlier visit. It was, of course, an additional charge to fix that. Also, it took him several days to get back to me after the initial visit. However, his work seemed thorough and I was pleased with the final results.

They completely checked both garage doors. One needed simple (?) readjustment. The other needed both cable changed and then adjustment. The repairer showed me first what the old springs looked like and you could see they were all stretched out of shape. Since I had 2 inspection coupons, he credited that door's coupon to the repair. All told, a bargain for the type and quality of work. No problems since! Would definitely recommend

I wanted a floor seal installed, he pointed out that he could do it but it would be a waste of money. I need a new door and opener. I would use him when I get this done.

Everything has gone very well. Scheduling was very easy and the technician was on time and dressed nicely. He was very personable and he did not push any services on us that were unnecessary. He was also to work with our old garage door well. I liked the price for the garage door but I was surprised for the additional fees and thought it was a little high.

The workman said I would be issued a refund since there was nothing he could do. I waited a number of billing cycles and still he not noticed a refund on my credit card so I called the company and left a very specific message outlining the situation hoping they would take care of it or at the very least, call me back. I never received a response from the company or a refund. It is now 6 months later. I feel this company is stealing my money and I would never use or recommend them to anyone. Disappointing because I was looking forward to giving them an A rating. Buyer beware.

This was a pretty great experience from start to finish. I had a garage door opener that stopped working because of some water damage in my garage. I started requesting estimates on Christmas Eve not expecting anyone to answer until after the holidays and immediately got a response from Rich. He came out the day after Christmas, gave me a reasonable estimate to replace and repair, then came the next morning and repaired it in no time. I have a crappy old garage and I just wanted my door to open and close - nothing fancy. And that's exactly what I got! Thanks so much, Rich!

I reported the initial situation to you, I asked for a refund, after much conversation I agreed to see if you could find someone else to replace the offer. I never heard from you again and than I received another ad from American Door. I thought I made it clear to you that I would not do business with American Door. Please refund my money. J. Schreiner

I have a 3 car garage with two openers. The big deal was for the installation of a keypad garage door opener for $99. This was installed on the 2 car door, and went smoothly. While there, the tech noticed that the chain for this opener was sagging; inspection revealed a damaged gear which was replaced at additional cost. The tech indicated the 1 car opener was working properly. Two days after this service, the garage door opener for the 1 car garage door malfunctioned, and the door would only open 1 foot. I called the provider, who replaced a broken spring, and indicated the timing was just a coincidence. The openers are 20 years old and have not been serviced, other than the spring for the 2 car opener being replaced several years ago.

My experience with this company was very positive, and highly recommend them.

Richard arrived within the time given to inspect my garage door. He first asked if I was having any problems with the door. I stated to him that the door would go up but not down in cold weather. He inspected all the working parts of the door and found that the control box needed adjusting, so he increased the power inside the control box that was needed to raise and lower the door. He lubed all the moving parts of the door itself, such as the rollers and metal attachments. My opener that's kept in my car wasn't working well, and I asked if it could be replaced. He was kind enough to trade with me, a working one that he had. He told me that the a plastic gear inside the control box was dry and should be kept lubricated in order to keep the control box working . I was offered a discounted price to have that taken care of and I accepted his offer. He showed me how he had to coated the gear with a thick petroleum like paste and explained the safe way of removing and replacing the cover to the control box. He saw that one of the light bulbs inside the control box was out and asked for a new bulb to replace it. He was very knowledgeable and informative about several other things that I needed to keep an eye on such as; replacing the battery inside the key-less pad on the outside of the garage. He showed me how to open it ( which I would not have known otherwise) in order to get inside to the battery when it was time. I was very happy with the service and will certainly use them in the future if needed.

I told Rich that when I opened the door, it sound like it was going to come off it's track. He explained to me all the steps he took to make my door safe. He showed me where the rollers were damaged and told me what could have happened if they were not replace. He took the time to explain things to me in a way that made sense to me. He also, oiled all the rollers and joints. I would use him again and recommend him to my friends.

Rich arrived early and was very professional. He explained all he was doing and why. The work was done very well and he kept me informed. I would hire him to return if ever needed.

The gentleman was prompt, thorough. He showed me that the sensor was out of line and that it was the reason I sometimes had trouble closing the garage. He explained that on the left the light on the sensor should be green and on the right yellow. If the green light blinks or goes out the sensor is out of line. I told him that one of the lights in the garage will not come on no matter how many times I have changed the bulb. He found that the light socket was damaged and replaced it. He oiled all the rollers and joints. I asked him to show me how to be able to open the garage manually like during a power outage. He showed me how it was done. He put a pull cord on it to help me better see the part that needs to be pulled for manual opening. He asked if I had any questions and he answered all I had. I would definitely call him again for service.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was fine. They were in and out within about 5 minutes. He just had to put in a couple of screws and it didn't take more than 20 minutes. He put the pad in that actually went with my garage door once he saw my door, so it was pretty simple. The pricing was reasonable.

I had used Richard's services previously on my other garage. The first service was performed on a older garage door. He completely overhauled the door, door sensors and installed door keypad. This time my garage was new and didn't need any maintenance, but we discussed some improvements, which I intend to do on a future date. He is constantly researching and improving his craft. Looking forward to future business.

They're great and really quick. There was no extra charge. I would highly recommend them and I have no problems with them. They did the job easily.

Richard [American Doors, Inc] called the morning of the estimate to let me know he was on his way. He was punctual, professional and personable. He explained what was needed and answered all of my questions. After giving an estimate on price and time, I asked him to do the work. He got right to work and when finished, cleaned up his work space. He also showed me how to keep the new springs and door in good working order for the future. Though the price was a bit high, he he had a lower price for the original estimate compared to the others I had spoken with. Richard upgraded the springs so the price was more than I had anticipated (my choice). I would recommend him to others.

It was fine. Very friendly guy, seemed to know what he was doing.

The service went well. They seemed to check the door thoroughly. They did not try to up sell me, which is better compared to other garage door companies I have used.

It was wonderful. He came on time, within the timeframe. He contacted me first, which was good. He did everything he promised to do. He was very congenial and professional. Everything worked out beautifully. He accommodated my schedule. It was great. He offered to put something on the bottom because my plastic was all torn up. But then he said he couldn't do it the way my door was on there. It wouldn't wrap right. So he didn't want to sell me something that wouldn't work. I live in Indiana and he's in Illinois. I thought that might be an issue but it wasn't at all.

Rich called on the day and arrived early, set up promply and started working. He was fast, efficient and thorough. He told me the way the wiring that was done previously was not good enough and re-wired for the newer opener. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to get it to perform perfectly. After it was installed he explained how to use it. I was very pleased with the job and outcome and would recommend him to anyone needing this type of service.

I followed John's instructions and cleaned the sensors , tightened the wing nuts that secure the sensors to the left & right sides of my overhead garage door and it worked! It is very refreshing to work with a company that will help a potential customer avoid an unnecessary expense! You'd better believe that if/when my vintage overhead door and opener need service or replacement, I will be calling American Doors!
