We specialize in masonry restoration, grinding, tuckpointing and brick replacement on residential and lowrise commercial properties. We rebuild chimneys, parapet walls and replace lintels,We install glassblock windows we do caulking and waterproofing all to the nighest industry standards.. Dan has 29 years experience in the industry and spent many years working in Boston and Chicago high rises. He is a journeyman mason and holds a city of Chicago masons licence. Northsouth does not sub the jobs to other companies. Our own crew does each job and have been with us for over 10 years. We provide free estimates but charge a flat $15.00 charge for second trips to the same location if the job is outside Chicago. We have been on Angies List since 2001 and have received many super service awards over the past 14 years.

"They were a great company to work with... friendly, courteous, and accommodating. I had a front porch leaning away from the house (from settling), and a walkway leaning toward the house. They patiently answered all my questions, and did a professional job. The new porch and walkway look great and I'm very happy with the results. They told me to apply water to the new cement for a week to prevent cracks. I had never heard of this before, so I'm glad they mentioned it. My only regret (which was my fault, not theirs) is that I didn't put tarps over my groundcover and part of the lawn to avoid having to pick out small pieces of cement. I don't think any contractor does this, so again my fault, but just something to consider for anyone having work done and is picky like me."

"We had a roofing issue on our 10-year old roof and need 2/3 of our roof torn off replaced. The previous roofer was out of business. We needed some modifications over a portion of the roof with little pitch that wasn't discovered until the old shingles were removed. "Selvin was nothing but professional, punctual and easy to work with. He was able to squeeze this job in as I hired him "late" in the season It was a gift for my son and his wife who are expecting next month and the yard got away from them. We also needed to coordinate them being home due to their dog not being receptive to strangers in her yard. So between many emails and Mother Nature cooperating last Sunday, the work was started. The work included weeding all the beds, trimming MANY bushes, digging out overgrown sucker growth, spreading mulch, mowing the lawn, just to name a few tasks. Oh I forgot to mention that Selvin initially said it would be a two day job, but got an extra crew together to do it in one day! He sent me a complete set of before and after photos in his email saying the job was completed. My kids are thrilled beyond words and I can't thank Selvin enough for a truly beautiful job of giving them their yard back. Money well spent for a quality job by an excellent business man."
