 + -1 moreWe have now dealt with 6-8 people at A-1, including Kerry who works in the office. A-1 is outstanding, courteous, very respectful of our home, professional, just really good and nice to deal with. I have 100% confidence in their service regardless of what we ask them to do. Randy was our service tech. today, not surprising he was great, we enjoyed having him at our home; and are pleased with the work that he did. The furnace filter was replaced, partly because we had ducts cleaned when the furnace was installed about 6-months, he noticed a small leak in the side of one of the old ducts connected to the furnace and took care of that, then after cleaning and checking the AC Unit, checked both the heating and cool air delivery in the house to make sure everything was working properly. Regards, A continuing and very satisfied customer.
Description of Work: A-1 Installed a new furnace for us about 6-months ago. The service today was to check on the furnace, replace filter and do some minor maintenance; also to check our air conditioning system.

We selected A-1 from Angie's List; Mike Casper their Sales Rep. came to our home, was on-time, very nice to talk to, gave us the information we needed, no pressure, responded to our questions in a clear and concise way, knew what he was talking about; gave us his suggestions/recommendations; in a short time we had our project planned and budgeted, and already felt we were in good hands with A-1. Yesterday Doug and Sloan showed up to remove our existing furnace, installed a new Lennox furnace; along with creating/constructing a fresh air supply vent and new digital/programmable thermostat. Removal of the old furnace and fitting the new furnace into the space allowed was a real challenge, but the work while difficult was very well done. Both Doug an Sloan were very respectful of our home, including the two small cats running around. A-1 had also arranged for a duct cleaning service that also did the work while the furnace was being installed, and did it in a very careful and thorough way. Couldn't be happier with A-1's service from all points of view.

Jeremy arrived at my house at 9:00 a.m. and he was done by 9:30. The repair was under warranty so there was no cost. I was extremely pleased with the promptness and service. I would not hesitate to use them again. I highly recommend A-1.

 + -1 moreThe furnace was supposed to be more quiet than the old unit but it really has more noise (fan?). We had issues with getting the upstairs to heat with the new unit too but they came back and adjusted it. Now it is okay.

When my father-in-law needed a new furnace this year I just contacted the salesperson I had used and he came out and provided a price for what was needed.  + -1 moreWe requested bids from 2 companies. Mike from A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning came out and impressed us with his professionalism, knowledge and experience. He was very personable and thorough in collecting information at the beginning of the process; and similarly excellent when he returned to deliver his bid. The installation team was first class. They arrived on time and did the entire changeover, including the city inspection, in a single day. Their craftsmanship and efficiency was top notch and much appreciated by me. The area around the furnace was clean and orderly at the end of the job. Andy from A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning called several weeks after the installation to confirm that everything was working properly and our expectations had been met. They had! The team at A-1 Heating & Air Conditioning is at the top of our list for any future HVAC needs we may have.

 + -1 moreThe company was totally unresponsive. No call back. They had their chance but the ship has sailed. We will not accept a bid on our system replacement. If they can't call to set an appointment to possibly sell a $6,000 - $10,000 system, how can we trust they would service the system if an issue arose. Perhaps it was a fluke but that is our experience.
Description of Work: We determined we needed to replace our A/C and furnace. My spouse and I were trying to keep the business local. Based on reviews here and the fact they were about a mile from our home, my spouse called to make an appointment to have someone come to give an estimate to replace our system. The woman she talked to told her the person that schedules the estimates would give us a back the same day. To date, (one week) we've heard nothing from the company.

They made their diagnosis and also recommended that I re-contact the original service provider to let them know what they found and give them the opportunity to repair the unit as it was still under warranty. I took their advice and am currently working with the HVAC company that installed the unit. Thank you for your help and guidance.

System was almost 20 years old and after weighing options re: repair or replacement, we made an appointment for sales to visit re: possible purchase of new system. A1 serviceman, salesman and all involved were thorough, knowledgeable and patient with all our questions. We ultimately replaced entire system and cost was as discussed. City inspector was extremely impressed with the work performed and gave high praise.

 + -1 moreEveryone at A-1 Heating and Cooling was friendly and couteous from the beginning to the end of changing out our old heating and cooling system. All were very knowledgeable and kept us informed of any problems or changes. The job of replacing an old oil furnace, especially a 40 year old one, should and could have been a very messy process but after they were finished there was no trace of grit or grime anywhere. They were very professional in every aspect of their job.

 + -1 moreAfter reading reviews on Angie's List and BBB I chose 2 companies to come give us bids. The day before they were coming the furnace died. The prices (yikes) for each company were comparable. We actually went with the more expensive one because we were so impressed with the salesman, Mike. He has experience as a tech and installer himself, so he really knows his stuff. We went with a mid-range furnace and top-of-the-line heat pump, following Mike's recommendation. He also suggested we enlarge our duct work trunk and some lines to maximize the efficiency. The crew arrived as scheduled and were amazingly proficient and professional. They did even better work than we expected - went above and beyond. I love the new system. I can't believe that by back bedrooms are no longer 10 degrees cooler than the rest of the house - I thought that just normal for an older house. I'm glad they've proved me wrong. Also, I'm noticing that the furnace seldom has to come on. The heat pump is really carrying the load now so we should save big on propane costs. Overall, I'm very pleased with our decision to go with A-1.
