Dear Member, Thank you for taking the time to post a review about your experience with our company. I was a bit deflated to see that, by your rating, you have us B's for service and a C for price. In looking at the notes for your service, it seems that you had a loud vibration with your Samsung front-load washer. My technician found no mechanical failure but that you had noted that it mostly seems to happen when you have a single large item in the washer. That will always throw it off balance as there is nothing to distribute the weight in the drum. My technician also installed some padding that you had supplied, to help with the vibration. And all you were charged at that time was our stand service call charge for trip charge and diagnosis, of $89. If you have a moment, I would be so appreciative if you could give me a call to discuss how we can improve what we do to ear that A rating in the future. 208 938-1066. Thank you. Patty H

Dear Member, We thank you for the review of your experience with our company. I wanted to respond about your D rating for our pricing. In looking at the services performed on your dryer, we replaced all 4 rollers, the idler pulley, and the belt. We also cleaned out built-up lint from inside the dryer cavity and the blower housing. We then cleaned the vent from the interior wall to the outside for the house (a separate service). Your charge for the repairs and vent duct cleaning was $230. You also have a one year parts-and-labor warranty on this repair. And the clean vent will save you on your electricity bill and prolong the life of the dryer (not to mention preventing a fire in your dryer due to a clogged vent). Your technician was background checked and drug tested, trained and certified. We hope you feel that it was money well spent for your convenience and peace of mind and you give us another opportunity to be of service to you in the future.

Description of Work: I needed my gas heating stove relighted. This was done and I was shown how to do it in the future. I also had a problem with my gas range but was advised of the cost to fix it and declined. I was having a problem getting the heating stove to come on via the wall thermostat and was informed that he would have Cody contact me about it because he (the technician) didn't know how to fix it. Five days later and I have not heard from Cody, which is very disappointing, but I did accidentally get the thermostat working on my own.

Description of Work: Troubleshot and replaced a faulty compressor starter switch on refrigerator. Service was excellent just thought price of $243.00 to replace a part that could be found online for $20 -30, was high. I appreciated his honesty fixing a 19 year old refrigerator and not trying to sell me a whole new compressor

Dear Member, Thank you for the review of your service with our company. I cannot comment on the prices you found online for the parts we used in your fridge. We do not use any of these internet sites, generally, for our part purchases. Many of them are not from parts houses and are often not first quality. Often, we cannot compete with many of the online sites, but I CAN guarantee that your parts did not arrive in a Dorito's bag on a foam meat tray (which is actually a true story!!). Also, that part and service comes with a 1 year parts-and-labor warranty, which is better, I bet, than you can find online! Our best to you and thanks for your review! :)

Description of Work: Called back to fix the spin cycle on washing machine after they replaced the part and were paid. It wasn't quite 3 months and the equipment failed - same problem with the spin cycle. Called to request service and had a tech out quickly. Tech said it was a defective part and fixed it. He was knowledgable and professional -- my concern is only with the company's policy in this type of situation. I certainly understand service call fees, and yes, they note that information on their website and inform you when scheduling a repair. However, this was a faulty part the company installed, and I was still assessed the service call fee of $89.00. I can't wrap my head around that one -- they installed the defective part, and yet assessed me a service call fee to come back and fix it. When I contacted the company to question it...it didn't go well and there was no negotiation whatsoever, not even meeting me half way to pay half the fee. I will not call this company again. Sadly -- Cody's does a fantastic job -- just know ahead of time about the company's service call fee policy which is implemented, no matter what.

Dear Member, As we had discussed with you prior to your review, we have the best warranty in the area -- 1 year parts AND labor warranty for our repairs. Typical warranties from our competitors are 30 days for labor and 90 days for parts. You were more than 90 days since the initial repair. For most companies, you would have had no warranty at all. They would have covered nothing after the 90 days. WE DO! However, we do have a rediagnosis fee after 30 days, which is clearly stated on our website, when you call for service, when we book the appointment, AND in your receipt that you received after the repair was made. It is nothing that we hide or try to sneak in on the sly. We are sorry that you do no like the terms of our warranty. Yes, they were parts that we installed. However, we do not manufacture parts. We purchase our parts from reputable suppliers and WE guarantee the parts that we do not manufacture for ONE YEAR! Whether this part comes from Mexico, China, or Minnesota, we warrant them. But you are frustrated and find us lacking that we do not have an unlimited warranty. I ask you, who does? How far can one little company stretch themselves, in this instance? We make absolutely no profit from this charge. It does not even cover our costs. But our technician does at least get paid for his time to return after 3 months! The rest, the company loses. Our apologies that we do not live up to your expectations and we hope that you give us an opportunity to be of service to you in the future, but we feel that we have an outstanding warranty and stand behind our policies. I invite you to go out into the community and look at the warranty for other products and service and see if we are really lacking or if you just have expectations that just cannot be met.

Overall Cody's service was good - but I am a little disappointed in general: Once the new part was installed, the lighting on the cycle selection was one slot off. They called Bosch and were told that "it is supposed to work like this." Since the controller board and lighting is all once piece - there is not too much that can be done (and at $300 I do not want to buy another one!). The fact that the controller board doesn't work the same as the old one did (the lighting on the cycle selection was in the correct slot) leaves me a little disappointed with Bosch.
Description of Work: Our Bosch Washing machine was not completing the rinse cycle. Cody's appliance repair diagnosed the problem as a failure in the controller board. They ordered a new part and came back one week later to install it.

Cody has been fixing stuff at my house and rentals for over eight years. I always ask for Cody, not that his staff isn't good, but he knows everything about appliances. He just has a knack for diagnosing and fixing things. He is on time, completely professional, honest, and possibly the best appliance repair person in Boise. He has put new linings in my dishwasher, new seals on the fridge, fixed the washer (can't remember what was wrong, but it worked great after that), put a new element in the oven, replaced the garbage disposal with one that never had a problem the whole time we were at that house, and after three other repair companies (all sent by the home warranty company that told me Cody was no longer available, which turned out to be a mistake) he finally convinced said company to replace the fan with one that worked.
Description of Work: Cody has fixed my dishwasher, washing machine, refrigerator, garbage disposal--in fact, the only thing he didn't fix was the dryer and that was because it would have cost more than buying a new one.

Cody did a great job! He was polite and professional. He arrived early after calling ahead for the OK. He repaired my washing machine on the first visit, but had to send out for parts for my coffee maker. He returned the next week to install the parts and one more time to make temperature adjustments.

Excellent. We moved to Boise from out of state and no one carries the Eurotech brand of washer & dryer that we own and needed service for. Cody Husk came to work on them and was quick, efficient and helpful. We would definitely call Cody's again when we need any of our appliances worked on.
