Toms Sprinklers

This is a return visit for Tom. As mentioned above, our system was poorly installed by others, but Tom improved upon what they had done at no charge! We did have to get a new timer, but that is all we paid for. Tom is committed to doing a solid job, and he's reliable. He goes above and beyond the basics of the job. Way to go Tom!

Tom showed up the same day I called him. He checked my whole system and cleaned the valves for my backyard sprinklers (which is where I was having the problem). Then, he ran that section on a manual cycle 3 times to make sure that the problem was fixed before he left. He was very prompt and affordable. I would definitely recommend Tom to anyone needing sprinkler help.

I found Tom on Angie's List and he returned my call and came out the same day. His initial repair did not resolve the problem, He returned on time and scheduled the repair that was needed. Tom is reliable, trustworthy and and does excellent work.

Tom was punctual, personable and great to work with. I have an old system and a variety of sprinkler heads; he was able to adjust all of them!

We had moved to Idaho in October 2013 when our sprinkler system was first used in April 2014 it didn't work well, there were areas of the grass that was turning brown due to the poor sprinkler coverage. Also there were some sprinkler heads that didn't have the correct spray pattern or limited pressure. We searched and discovered Tom Barber provided the maintenance service. When Tom showed up at our house I was expecting to have our sprinkler system look at and get an estimate. What Tom did was he immediately got his tools out to diagnose the sprinkler issues. No sooner had he started that he jumped in immediately checking all sprinkler stations for performance, changing sprinkler heads as needed. In the backyard he what I call over and above my expectations by moving some sprinkler heads around so they were more efficient in the coverage. I was very impressed with Tom's work ethic and dedication to solving all my sprinkler issues, including rewiring the sprinkler programming to better meet the needs and water savings. I was so impressed that I've asked Tom to come back in the fall/winter season to do the seasonal sprinkler blowout and to my name on his list to do this annually. If there is the need to to anymore changes or enhancements to our sprinkler system Tom will be the go to guy. I highly recommend his service to anyone. I would give Tom an A+ for his service.

Tom is equal parts MacGyver and Dalai Lama. I am a new home owner and have no experience with sprinkler systems. Tom fixed my aging system and was willing to let me look over his shoulder so that I could understand how to do-it-myself the next time around. The man is an absolute joy to have over at your house as he happily repairs the most frustrating jobs. If only every person had his same generosity and character, this world would be much happier and functional planet.

First off, after several attempts to get other companies in, Tom called back and responded literally within minutes. He mapped the zones and diagnosed and resolved the problem within about ten minutes. He then examined the entire system, made some adjustments, and provided some great recommendations on what to watch for and how to maximize performance. Bottomline...phenomenal response, phenomenal results.

Tom responded on my first call and came by that same day for a review of the problem. He determined that the main valve to my system was leaking slowly but we agreed that it needed repaired. We scheduled the work to be done and agreed upon a price. Just before the job was to be started Tom called and asked to come by with a new wrench he had made and thought that he may be able to stop the leak without having to dig down 4" to gain access to the valve. He came by that same day and used his new tool on the valve. He had just been successful at another home with the same problem and was successful. I was hopeful this would work, saving me quite a bit of money. Tom was able to turn the coupling quite a bit but unfortunately it did not stop the leak. He tried several times before deterring the dig was necessary after all. I was impressed that Tom had this tool built and that he came over to give it a try, with considerable enthusiasm after just being successful with it. That effort gave my a lot of confidence that Tom was looking out for the homeowners and trying to keep their repair costs down. On the agreed upon day, Tom arranged for his son to dig the hole and prepare the area for the valve replacement. Tom's son is a hard worker and a very pleasant young man. It's nice to meet young people with solid work ethics in this day and age. Following the dig, Tom came by and made the final repairs, tested the system for leaks, installed a better access pipe and filled the hole and cleaned up any sign of his work, leaving the area very orderly. There were a few times where I was either away from the home or had to leave before Tom was done and never did I feel uncomfortable leaving Tom with full access into my property. Trustworthy, reliable, professional, knowledgeable, honest, friendly, thorough. I also agreed to use Tom to winterize my system this fall.

The sprinkler turn off valve began leaking in late April. Of the people I called, 3 never called back. 1 made an appointment but didn't show up, 1 called back after 3 weeks, and 2 said they would not even try to fix the valve but would dig it up and replace it at a cost of $600 .By the end of May I called Tom He came right out and tried a couple of things before he considered replacement. He fixed the leak for $50. Tom was very professional, arrived when he said he would, knows what he is doing and did not try to jack up the price. I am forever grateful for that!

Very Well! Our irrigation system wasn't working properly, and now that Tom fixed it, it works just fine. In addition to fixing our system, Tom gave us recommendations on how to water more efficiently. He was very pleasant to work with, and if we need him again, we'll be sure to call.

This turned out to be the job from h***. Nothing was cooperating. If it could go wrong it would. No reflection on Tom. He just had to work with 30yr old parts. I was impressed with his patients

He was very professional, came the next day after my call on a Saturday to look at our sprinkler system. He worked that day and everyday for the next week. He was on time and very thorough. He replaced some damaged sprinkler heads, found and fixed leaks in the conduit, fixed the automatic scheduling and had everything up and running great in no time. We will be using him again for all our future sprinkler needs. Great work and great guy!! Definitely would recommend him to anyone needing his services.

Very responsive and professional sprinkler blowout.

I called Tom after I had called my regular sprinkler blowout guy for the past 10 years and was told that they were not doing it anymore. He said for me to text him the property addresses and he would try to work us in. The next morning he sent me a text saying he had us all worked in and would be doing us that day. He came and was GREAT. Told me of a problem he had encountered on one of the properties and how he had fixed it. He really KNEW his stuff. We worked together on the stations and I will be using him from now on. He was very personable and we were thankful he worked us in so quickly.

Tom had already been through our area when I called him, but he doubled back through the next day after I called him. He was very polite and friendly and worked quickly but thoroughly. We'll definitely be giving Tom a call again next fall.

Tom was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by in the event the sprinklers needed to be blown out. We did need them blown out and Tom took care of it for us.

Tom did a great job! Tom showed up when he said he'd show up and worked two straight days until all work was complete. It's refreshing to deal with a professional who does what he says he's going to do.

Prompt, professional, friendly, and honest--just a really nice guy to work with. He completed the initial repairs on site and came back within four days to do the lengthier job. We thought the price was a bargain for the service we received, and we've been completely happy with the results.

Tom showed up within 4 hours of first contact, very rare service in this industry. I have had my share of headaches with sprinklers and Tom is the first to ever show up with only a single call and a single service appointment. He quickly assessed my timer issue and corrected it then set to work on adjusting and replacing a few broken heads as well as adjusting the rest of the heads within the 7 zones I had in my system. Tom is extremely professional and efficient in his work and will be called upon again if I have future repair needs.

Tom was so easy to work with - he worked very hard to make sure our lawn was exactly how we wanted it before he left. He ended up working over 5 1/2 hours on everything and took care of so much we were unable to - our sprinklers had been broken due to tree roots and one was quite a mess. He was prompt, easy going, and professional.

Tom came to my house just a couple days after I called him. I called to get my sprinklers dialed in and some heads replaced. Tom was very efficient and helpful. He explained to me what he was doing and what I could do if the sprinklers ever came out of adjustment. I thought that I was going to have to pay and have my main valve dug up and replaced but he was able to fix the leak without digging it up saving me hundreds of dollars. Overall Tom is very helpful and educational, and I will definitely be using him again for blowouts and any other sprinkler work from now on. His prices are very fair and he had all the parts that were needed. Most of the cost was parts and extra nozzles that I asked for.
