While in my home, he worked quickly and efficiently leaving me feeling very confident in his job skill and knowledge.  + 0 moreAndy arrived early, and came through and worked extremely, fast, clean, and professionally. He's not one for small talk, he's one to get the work done well, and get it done quick so that you can be on with your day. I couldn't have asked for a better service call. Pro: That part was pretty amazing, to have a provider let you know that there work was a little more effort than they had expected and still hold true to the price they quoted. Makes me feel comfortable calling again. Andy was easy to work with, and he did a great job. He does ask you a particular way you'd like things, and executes to your liking. Con: wasn't ready for the inconveniences of a downtown job (i.e. parking, moving his ladder and gear from further away. He suggested a small price increase, but in the end kept his word on the quoted price.
Description of Work: Installed two heavy duty chandelier bases onto two J Boxes.

 + 1 moreFantastic! Using Angie's list I had called Andy to fix a ceiling fan, he was so professional, quick and personable I asked for quotes on some of my "wish list" work I wanted completed. He discussed with me the job, gave me a quote and we set up an appointment. The job was scheduled to take 2 days; both days he showed up on time! His cleans up as he goes, did everything he said he was going to do. He tolerated by yipping puppy and wowed by 5 year old grandson. It was such a great experience - I wish I had more things for him to do! I recommend him highly and will use him for all my electrical needs.

I contacted Andy Derrick on my first attempt and discussed the pros and cons of various attic fan installs and fans themselves. He made recommendations based on my house style and it's position to the sun. We made arrangements at that time for the install as I felt very comfortable with his explanations, knowledge on the subject and the fact that his Angie's List score and reviews were very positive. Andy showed up promptly and had the fan installed and operating within a short time and at the agreed upon price. I will definitely call upon Brite Electric if ever I need electrical work performed.

Since I don't live in Boise, we had to make all arrangements via phone and email, and the repair visit had to be co-ordinated with a third person, my mother's caregiver. Through all of this Andy was helpful, efficient and professional. My mother's caregiver reported that the the visit and repairs went smoothly. In addition, I had asked Andy to look at a light fixture that I thought was a problem, but he deemed it to be safe and didn't charge for that work. I will definitely call Brite Electric again when I need work done.

 + -1 moreAndy arrived at 1155 for a noon appointment. I showed him what needed to be done. In review, he drew up a diagram of the work to verify with me. He completed all the work in five hours at $80 per hour and $60 in parts. He is very efficient and professional. I now have peace of mind that the wiring is up to code and I have enough switches and the correct receptacles for the outdoor circuits.
Description of Work: Simplified a garage wiring circuit, added switches to outdoor spot lights, fixed an indoor and an outdoor receptacle, and checked the GFCI receptacles to make sure they were wired correctly.

Description of Work: I contacted Andy at Brite Electric Co. and he called back that day to set up an appointment. He arrived on time, was very professional, personable and answered all my questions. I have an intuitive sense about the trustworthiness of people and felt very comfortable having him work in my home. There were three things that I wanted him to help me with: 1- Replace two heavy front porch light fixtures. The previous lights were 20 years old and I was concerned that the hardware/wiring might not accommodate the new fixtures. The new lights have a heavy slate base and I also wondered whether the new hardware was sturdy enough to hold them up! He did have to make some changes, but they're up! And he did a great job. 2- Fix 2 electrical outlets in each of two rooms. He fixed these rather quickly, and replaced at least one outlet with a reset switch. I had imagined mice behind the walls gnawing away at the wiring so it put my mind at ease to have a professional take a look. 3- Replace bathroom exhaust fan. All the parts of the motor in the fan had been painted, and I couldn't see the specifications. Andy said that he could get a replacement and install it for me.....OR....I could take it to Home Depot and easily replace it myself. I did, and it's done! I would highly recommend Brite Electrical Co

He gave me a quote and said he would apply the visit to disconnect the fan to the new install. I called him a few weeks later to schedule the install. He was very prompt and professional. Considering he had to crawl through our attic insulation to do the job I feel we got a really good deal. I would definitely hire him for future electrical projects.

He found out there were difficulties pulling the cables since I have a double attic. That did not deter him at all. He went to work and had the job done in less time than he had quoted.
