Bix Basement Systems

Description of Work: It has now been on over 7 months since Bix was notified that the foundation work they performed in May 2015 created water leaks in our basement. We showed them pictures taken by the company we hired to correct Bix's shoddy work showing Bix broke our foundation and downspout drain system. It has now been 4 months since we tried to resolve this problem through the BBB with Bix refusing to acknowledge their responsibility. It has been 2 months since Bix said they sent our information to their insurance company. It has now been over a month since our attorney contacted Bix and their insurance company. This is the same company, Bix, that demands payment the same day they complete their work. THIS COMPANY CANNOT BE TRUSTED.

Description of Work: Bix is totally untrustworthy! They worked on our foundation and destroyed our drain system allowing water to come into the basement causing us to pay over $20,000 to correct all the damage. We have been told on numerous occasions that their insurance company would be in contact--that was over 2 months ago. We have now hired a lawyer to help resolve this problem since Bix or their insurance company refuses to contact us directly. Stay away from this company!

Description of Work: Bix did a very good job for us with de-watering and encapsulating our large earthen floor crawlspace areas. They cleared out debris (primarily old, deteriorated insulation and building materials), installed a sump pump system and sealed off the areas to prevent outside air and humidity from infiltrating. Prior to the work done by Bix, our crawlspaces were wet, creepy places that we didn't want to enter or deal with. Bix personnel handled the project professionally, courteously and with positive attitudes. It was an expensive project for us, but it is a relief to have the wet crawlspace issues resolved. The spaces are brighter, clean and pleasant now (for crawlspaces) and we can use them for storage.

Description of Work: They worked on a foundation problem and left us with a destroyed downspout and foundation drain system. We paid another company to fix the problem that Bix created. We now longer have daily water coming into our basement thanks to Friends with Nature. Bic customer service stinks as they have up till today, refused to acknowledge they created the problem through shoddy work. We are still waiting for a response on whether they will pay to have our basement returned to a mold free and liveable environment. To date, we have paid over $3000. to correct Bix's work with another $20,000 estimate to fix our interior basement. Their customer service stinks like my basementor does now.

Description of Work: Lifted the concrete slab on our front porch and lifted two sections of our sidewalk.

Description of Work: We had Bix Basement System do their system (sump pumps) that they recommended plus wall braces to the tune of $13,000 and within months after installation we had almost 20 inches of water in our basement!! They were not going to stand behind their system. They said it was excessive rainfall and an act of God! After I made many phone calls demanding their appearance at my home they came. Thank goodness to my neighbors pressure on them, they did install a second system and replaced several appliances that were destroyed. I don't think their company is all they claim to be. We are grateful our persistence paid off.

Description of Work: There isn't enough space for me to include it all! So sad!! They don't return calls, didn't finish the job, overcharged, lied and tried to cover it up. They can't be trusted!

Description of Work: They will be installing an Ultra Sump Pump in my basement laudry room. I choose them over another provider because of their higher ratings on Angie's List.

Description of Work: They put in 19 Anchors. The salesman said that this anchor system would completely straighten the walls. It may eventually, but hasn't yet. The guys that did the work were very nice. But they came unprepared. They had to borrow tools and sometimes didn't seem to know what they were doing. They called their boss in and jacked up our house so they could get a wall straight. This caused the floor Joice to pop out and move the wall. This caused damage upstairs. They accidentally broke a window as well. The landscaping that they promised would be great wasn't either. After numerous unreturned calls they finally sent someone back out to assess the damage. Eventually they came and fixed the landscaping and water barrier. Also moved the wall moved back in, although it still isn't right. They also did some caulking in a upstairs bathroom that had damage. They said they would send someone out to fix the window. We got tired of waiting, so we installed it our self. They did send a check for the cost of the window. We had thought about having a new basement installed and we told the salesman that. He assured us that they could fix it much cheaper. And that a new basement would run in upwards of $80,000. Since then we learned it would have only been around $30,000. Expensive lesson learned on our part.

Description of Work: Sealed crack in foundation and polyleveled portions of aggregate driveway. Salesman was great and work crews were great, especially the polylevel crew. However, scheduling was poor and communication between front office and work crews was terrible. Although weather played a partial role, if work had begun as scheduled and crews had been adequately prepared by the front office we would not have had to wait for excavation and leveling that was begun in October to be finally completed in April. This company actually operates out of Fort Madison. Work crews consistently arrived later than scheduled and the assigned crew was neither properly informed of nor properly prepared for the contracted foundation repair. The ultimate result was a project delay spanning months rather than a couple of days.

Description of Work: Installed three yard anchors to pull out a bowed-in basement wall and prevent recurrence.

Description of Work: They were way to expensive, so I couldn't use them. Plus they were very unorganized doing estimate .

Description of Work: Installed 13 piers and injected polyfill under part of the slab. These folks were great and I highly recommend them over other local providers!

Description of Work: The foundation technician came, but was 30 minutes late. Notified the real estate agent, NOT the homeowner via text message that he did not want the job. Did not give ANY details, no estimate of job, no indication of where we could go from there. Considering we waited almost a week for the appointment, this really puts us behind the eight ball with this property.

Description of Work: Four wall, 3 pump drainage system and 12 wall straps. No big rains yet but it seems to be pumping out water from time to time from under the concrete.

Description of Work: Bix installed eight anchors and rods to stabilize and straighten a basement wall that had a crack and a slight bow.

Description of Work: Installed 8 FSI Wall anchors on the front basement wall that was cracking and had 1 3/4 inch opening on the cracks. It was leaking like a sieve. Water just poured in and we didn't know what to do.
