Excellent working with them: online communication; no salesmen; no upselling; punctual arrival for working and measurement; quality product and installation; polite, friendly installers. We needed one replacement double-casement window for our kitchen, on the second floor. After describing the job online, we received Zen Windows initial quote the next day online. They sent out the installer to measure and match colors, then sent their final quote (essentially the same amount) online immediately after that. The window was manufactured on schedule; the installer arrived promptly at the exact time stated; the window was installed (and cleaned!) in less than 4 hours, with no mess left. The price for the window may seem high, but it was a double-casement window and we are more than two hours travel from their site. We would work with them again and recommend them to friends.

Alix did a great job of keeping us informed throughout. We had all the windows in our home replaced. Dan and Brenda were our installers with 45 years experience. They were very courteous and friendly, explained everything they were doing, did an outstanding job on the installation, and cleaned up as they went. Brenda removed all the stickers and cleaned each window too. They checked with me throughout to make sure we were happy with their work. I was a little nervous about having this done, but Zen Windows of Des Moines made it so easy. I highly recommend them to anyone.

My main floor windows that came with the purchase of my home, needed a major update . I went online and found Zen Windows in DM and read their reviews and instantly determined , they would be perfect for my project. During my initial consultation, they were able to pull up an image of my home and we did the entire process over the phone, making it super convenient. After we agreed on the style of windows and the color of the trim, they sent me my quote and once I approved, my windows were ordered. The windows arrived fast and their super friendly team installed them in one day. I love my windows. I didn't think I could be this excited over something that's a necessity in everyone's homes. I don't even have coverings on them because they are big and beautiful and they let in so much light. I highly recommend Zen Windows for your window projects not only for the quality of their windows but because their team is so wonderful to work with.

This was a major purchase for my husband and I, as we were replacing every window in our house. From the very first interaction to the very last one, I only have positive things to say. We did a lot of research on different window companies and received quotes from Andersen, Pella, and Zen. Zen's online process was by far the best experience as we didn't have to endure lengthly sales presentations like we did with Andersen and Pella. We had many questions for Matt and exchanged many phone calls and texts with him. He was upfront and honest with us regarding all different types of windows based on his lengthly experience in the industry. Matt was personable, easy to talk to, and answered every question we threw at him. Matt never once pressured us into any purchase. We ultimately choose Zen based on Matt's second to none customer service, the quality of window they offer through their manufacturer partner, the qualification process they go through with their installers, and their competitive price. Once we went with Zen, they came out and measured our windows and we had to wait 8 weeks while our windows were custom built. Once they came in, Brian and his family installed all the windows in our house and did an amazing job. They were quick, cleaned up after themselves, and even answered questions we had about other areas of our house. Brian is truly an expert in his craft of installing windows. Tom did an amazing job matching the new trim; you cannot tell the difference in the new trim around the windows and oak finish of our kitchen cabinets and our baseboard trim. Dan finished a few of our windows as well and did a great job. Overall, we are thrilled with our new windows and would chose Zen again in a heartbeat.

We met Alix and Matt at last years Iowa State Fair while walking thru the Industry and Trades building. We had wanted new windows for our home for the longest time and had walked past several window displays. You can spot high pressure sales people a mile away as we kept walking. We came to Zen Windows display (Don't pay $1200 for a $599 window) and immediately sensed a difference as Alix and Matt were easy to talk to and down to earth people showing us their windows. Alix gave us her card and we told her we'd be in touch. Alix sent an e-mail following up with their window and door brochures along with video links. I liked this as I'm old school and like to do my homework and research. We exchanged several more emails with questions from us and one telling of an up coming price increase. Having built our home we had blueprints and sent them and got our estimate. With several changes and additions to the original estimate we signed our agreement. Dan came to measure our windows and was very professional as was Brian and the install crew having excellent craftsmanship and skills. Our home is so quiet and tight now and looking forward to reduced utility bills from the windows. We Love our Zen Windows more and more everyday! Thanks Alix and Matt!

I researched Zen Windows and decided on them for the work I wanted done. Their product seemed superior and they did business in a manner I liked. No hassle, no high pressure tactics. Everything was done via computer or phone. Sent them pics of the windows I wanted replaced and had a FIRM quote shortly after. My decision, yes or no. Kept me updated on what was going on at all times and when installation would take place. Installers were extremely professional and courteous and did an amazing job. Why did I wait so long to have this done? I am extremely satisfied with my new Zen Windows and would definitely recommend Zen to others.

My experience working with Zen Windows Des Moines was truly amazing. Buying replacement windows for me was a big time investment (almost too big). So off I went looking for that hard-to-find combination of quality and a fair price. Well folks, I got lucky when I found these guys. Three reasons why I think they are the best: 1) they sell/install top quality windows (I did my homework); 2) their installers proved to be skilled craftsmen that take enormous pride in their work and 3) the owners care...a lot...they take the time to make sure you are comfortable and happy with every step throughout the process. I have worked with other window companies in the past; their products and service did not hold a candle to Zen. Not even close. It's almost unfair. One last comment, and it was a big part of why I picked Zen - no sales pressure. No high pressure salesman will come to your house with his hour long dog and pony show (including props) telling you you have to sign a contract today or else. With Zen there is none of that nonsense. Just send them the pictures, get a written quote with a guarantee, and you decide. Done. This is the best experience I've ever had working with any company on a major purchase. Period.
