Description of Work: I hired Connett Services to clean/service a furnace and A/C unit. They were having a special on Angie's list so they only charged me $74.20. They told me that they found a crack in the heat exchanger and the furnace needed to be replaced. They said this is how people get carbon monoxide poisoning. They also said the A/C unit was low on Freon so there must be a leak so they recommended I replace that as well. They quoted me $5,200 to replace both units. I asked them to send me something in writing and never heard from them again. I contacted another Heating & Cooling company that was referred to me by someone I know and trust. They went out and gave me a second opinion. They found no visual cracks in the heat exchanger and no carbon monoxide. They tested for refrigerant leaks. They found a loose schredor core so they tightened it. They checked the charge and added 1 lb refrigerant. Both units were working properly at the conclusion of this service which cost me $139.10!!!

+ -1 moreMy garbage disposal stopped working and I was unable to release it with the wrench. I contacted Residential MD (my home warranty service) and they directed me to Connett. I called Connett and they made arrangements to send someone out the next day. The service man arrived as promised, reported his findings to Residential MD and was authorized to proceed with replacement of the unit. He needed to pick up a replacement and returned within a half hour. He replaced the unit and was on his way within a two hour period. I was very satisfied with the service.
Description of Work: Replacement of garbage disposal. Replacement work was covered by a home appliance warranty. Cost was a co-pay only.

Of course I called on the first hot week of the summer so he was not able to get out for preventive maintenance until the following week. Roy called me at work as I requested to let me know he was on his way to my house so I did not need to wait for him at home. He cleaned the coils, tightened a valve, and added freon. He got a little mud on his shoes while cleaning the coils so he left his shoes outside when he came in. He loves dogs so he wasn't bothered by my dog checking him out in the backyard while he was working. Very friendly, professional and easy to work with.
Description of Work: Roy came out to to perform a service check of our air conditioner and added 1.5 lb of Freon to unit.
