+ -1 moreService guy was on time and efficient with Inspection. As expected, my furnace ignitor was looking bad. Upon replacing it, my furnace still wasn't igniting correctly, so recommended replacing a pressure switch. Had to order the part, so not finished at the time of this writing. The good: - Service guy was straightforward to deal with. He seemed a very straight shooter-type, and didn't try to "up-sale" me anything like others I've used. - Prices seems very reasonable. I know what an ignitor and pressure switch cost, and their markup and install labor for them was not too bad. The bad: (well, the *minor* complaints I have) - Still waiting on the pressure switch and install. Was told it would be a few days, but it's been over a week now. I don't blame them - I'm sure they are waiting on the part - but a little communication would be nice! - Service guy tracked mud in our house. Not a biggie for me given the quality and price of service, but I think my wife was put off by it a bit.
Description of Work: I bought a Connett service inspection deal from Angie's List. Also replaced ignitor and pressure switch. I kind of expected that, though, since my furnace had been acting up this winter.

+ -1 moreIt was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went fine. They are a great company and they did a great job. I waited a few weeks when I asked them to come because it was so cold out. The delay was because I didn't want them to, and not because of them. Right after I called them, they came right out and did it. They were prompt with everything, they told me when they would be here, they called ahead, and everything worked out very good. I will use them again. It cost a little more than the $1800 Big Deal price but they didn't have out of the ordinary things they charged for, it wasn't just to get more money out of me. It was a fair deal. I probably spent $4400 for the 2 furnaces. I thought the price was very good that's why I did it. My furnaces were both working and they weren't broken, but they were getting old so I thought I would get a good price while I could. Assuming they put the furnace in right, I guess they were professional.

He though the humidifier was broken, he said it was re-wired incorrectly. It was not re-wired incorrectly and I was a little disappointed with their diagnosis.

+ -1 moreHe discovered a split in the condenser that condenses the water. It had leaked water into the furnace. So he had to order a part. I paid them the $35 for the furnace check. When he came back they charged me a service call. I disputed that and I didn’t think that was right. I think they should have deducted the $35 which I already paid them for the service. They wouldn’t do it. I ended up having to pay the $35 for the service call and $90 for them to come back. I would say that they were responsive. They performed the service requested but they charged me twice for the service call. I felt that was unfair. I argued with them and they would not concede. It was a big deal purchase. In terms of price, it was below my expectation for sure. They were very professional.

+ -1 moreI didn't watch all that the repairman did, but he did show where the problems were. I asked for a quote on a replacement furnace and got one about 1 1/2 weeks later. Also got quotes from other providers as well. Did not choose this company for the replacement furnace because they are fairly small and I had concerns over long term viability of the business. They did great work, but my husband and I had to consider more than price although they did come in with the lowest quote.
Description of Work: I used the offer of a winter check up on our furnace. Our furnace was 33 years old and they recommended that it be replaced and not used at all until then as there were holes in the pipes to the chimney.

He got started and I went back to work. He cleaned up after himself when finished, left a very detailed explanation of the work done, the tests and recommendations for future service - including letting me know what was in good shape and needed no attention at this time. Very professional. Very personable. I used an Angie's List coupon for this service and had never used Connett before this time. I will definitely contact them again for future tune-up service or repair.

+ 0 moreOnce the negotiations were settled, a date for the installation was made. It was in the following week, servicemen arrived on time, worked quickly, protected the floors, and cleaned-up after themselves. It was a professional job, start to finish. There were two servicemen working as a team in different locations. The coil above the furnace had to be replaced in the basement. Some sheet metal work was required. The compressor on the outside was replaced. The existing wiring and tubing was reused. The old refrigerant was purged and the lines pressure tested. Concrete pad was tested for level and reused. Once the units were installed, the system was charged and pressure checked and the system was run. The thermostat was tested. System worked fine. All in all it took approximately 4 1/2 hours to do the installation, remove the old system and clean-up.
Description of Work: This is a continuation of service started recently as pre and post season operation for my hot water heater, furnace and central air conditioner. The hot water heater and furnace were fine, and the serviceman performed the cleaning and tune-up. The air conditioner was leaking and needed to be replaced. I got three bids. This bid was much lower than the other two. The price for the installed unit was quoted as $1900. They gave me credit for the $35 fee for end of season servicing, which could not be done as the unit was defective. After I got two other bids, we settled on $2065 with the added cost of increasing the covered labor for 10 years to match the parts. In addition, the increased efficiency qualifies for a $100 rebate from MidAmerican Energy.

Description of Work: They were the company listed with the Home Repair Contract I had with my home mortgage. They cane out & did a review/assessment fo my furnace & then said they would have to call the Home Repair Contract compant to see fi they would approve what needed to be fixed for my furnace. The repair man only told me that the blower motor was not working & needed to be repaired. However, the next day, the Hoime Repair Contract compant called me back at 4:30pm, telling me that the service repair man from Connett Services said that the system--furnace, was not working due to total lack of maintenance and that the blower was 100% clogged & that;s why the furnace was not working, along with the fact that the blower motor needed to be repaired. The service man never told me any of this when he was at my house, only said that the blower motor needed to be replaced. Once the service man told the Home Repair Contract company that was associated with my home mortgage that it was due to lack of maintenance, the Home Repair Contract company refused to pay for the repair of the furnace and to replace the blower motor. This was despite the fact that I was paying monthly premiums with my mortgage payment to pay for the All inclusive Home Repair Contract on all home appliances and I also had to pay a $75:00 deductible too. I ended up not having anything repaired, paid a $75.00 deductible & had been paying $40.00 per month extra with my mortgage payment for this all inclusive home repair service contract that was suppose to cover all parts and labor, even if the furnace needed to be replaced. I had to go with another company. I will never use Connett Sevices again.
