They are extremely good and we've recommended them to several people. They were right in the ballpark with everybody else we got estimates from. They were extremely polite and made sure everything was clean. We did have a little problem when it first rained and they came and fixed it for nothing. They came the same day I called and they ended up fixing it the next day. They were very punctual and they cleaned up after themselves. Their pricing was the same as everybody else.

The crew showed up on time each day, were very good about cleaning up during the process, and were both courteous and professional. They did take longer than expected to complete the job (2 1/2 days), but my roof is very unusual, and required lots of shingle trimming. They also corrected some sloppy work done by the previous roofer around the chimney, and added a couple pieces of sheeting, but didn't charge me anything extra. Once they were done, they did an exceptional job of cleaning up. If they grass hadn't been matted down by the tarps, which was expected, I'd never have known they were in my yard. Very well done.......

Promptly sent an estimator out. Received the estimate in the mail on Monday following. Promptly scheduled the work to be done and accomplished it on the day it was scheduled. Cleaned up the debris after the job was completed. I would recommend and use this company again.

Went great! I was having a hard time deciding on a shingle color - they dropped 2 large samples off for me to compare. We live on a busy street And our driveway is a challenge - but the crew did a Great job making it work! The job was done in 1 day. When they started there were maybe 4 guys working -later in the day when I came home from work there had to of been 8! They did a great job - got right to work and cleaned everything up.

They did a good job and I would use them again. They showed up on time and finished withing a day.

I did not use this provider. I went with a lower estimate. The owner was very helpful and I feel honest in with what was needed to fix the roof. The Estimate was detailed and price was in line with other contractors.

These guys (and gals) did a great job on my roof. Punctual, responsive, professional, quality, price, I give them two thumbs up on the whole package. I solicited 4 bids, on multiple shingle grades. The EJS bid the lowest price for standard shingles as well as upgraded shingles. They did a great job covering/protecting things while roofing. Anytime they spotted us they asked us if we needed anything moved or if they were in our way. They spent a lot of time on clean up and made sure the grounds were spotless before they left. I'm an Engineer by trade so could not resist climbing on the roof and checking their craftsmanship. It looks like a top notch job to me. Plenty of attention to detail.

In both spoken and written communication, this company was extremely professional. In the end they were a few thousand dollars higher in their estimate than the company I went with. If not for that I would have gone with EJS and I wouldn't hesitate to mention them to friends and family. I wanted to give them a good review here simply due to the level of courtesy, promptness, and professionalism they displayed.

I'm wondering if EJS Roofing and DeNeve Construction & Roofing are one and the same company, because I got the same behavior from both of them in the same week, despite all their glowingly favorable reviews. But this one is about EJS. I called EJS on May 17th hoping to get them to give me an estimate on the repair/sealing of the flashing around my chimney-turned-linen-closet (the drywall in the closet was taking on moisture and developing a spot of mold. I decided to have the cause of the problem fixed before repairing the resulting damage). The man who answered was curt and surly, but ? based on all the great reviews ? I went ahead and scheduled their visit for later that day at noon. I got my 26 year old son to wait on EJS for me, but they never showed up. Stuff happens, so I gave them another call on Wednesday May 22nd, and we decided they'd come over to the house the next day about noon. They never showed up and I haven't heard from EJS Roofing since. Like DeNeve Construction and Roofing, I'm now thinking all those great Angie's list reviews are plants from friends and employees. I gave EJS a fair chance to provide a service and they blew me off. So, guess who won't be getting another call or a favorable word? I've given DeNeve its own separate thumbs-down, if you're at all interested.

EJS started as soon as the weather permitted. The guys showed up early and worked late for three days. It was not a simple roof, but they made it look great. They were always friendly and courteous.

EJS Roofing showed up at the time of our scheduled appointment on a Friday. Ed and his team were very polite and professional. He asked good questions and they got straight to work and up on the roof. They evaluated and assessed the damage we had from the inside and outside. Ed explained exactly what they thought the issues were and what needed to be done. I received an e-mailed estimate later that day. I spoke to Ed with a few more questions and gave him verbal approval to do the work which we scheduled for the following Tuesday. We got a call on Sunday morning. Ed apologized for calling on a Sunday, but the weather forecast called for lots of rain in the coming week and he could have his crew out on Sunday before the rain came. We agreed. The same guys who were here with him for the evaluation and estimate were the ones who came and performed the work. They had to remove siding on our chimney and shingles from the roof, but were able to repair the chimney and surrounding area, they installed new flashing and repaired the pan cap. They were able to exactly match our roof shingles. We had to leave for a previous obligation while they were right in the middle of the repair. Upon our return you could never even tell they had been here. Later that day it began raining and rained, heavily for several days. Dry as a bone inside! The bill we received was exactly what the estimate was. I would use Ed and his team again in a heartbeat. They were professional and courteous. They performed on schedule and on budget and cleaned as they went.

Very good service. Got right back to us when called about job and came out within a couple of days to look at project and readjust estimate (to lower cost). They came within the time frame that they quoted for us and were done in a day and had everything cleaned up very nicely. I would definitely get them again.

There was some confusion about which day they were coming. Could have been ny mistake so can't really be too h****** them. Busy times. They also realined the shingles around the fresh air exchange stacks on the roof while they were "up there" at no extra charge. This was fine I guess but caused panic on my part as I saw them and thought why were they doing un authorized work? I really had no way ot know if it needed or should be done. I would have appreciated being consulted before hand.

It went well. As I remember, the crew was here about four days. They cleaned all mess up and I paid them. I received the "Limited Warranty Information for Asphalt Shingles" that the owner, Mr. Schroder, signed and filled out with my name address, contractor's name and address and product applied, with contract price and number of bundles used. He also included the manufacturer's information on the shingles, storm shield, hip and ridge shingles, and starter strip.

I called to get an estimate done and Ed was very prompt in getting back to me. He came by my house a day before dropping off the estimate and did all the measurements. The next day he dropped off all the information and explained what type of roof they would put on and the warranty information. I decided to go with them and they were able to schedule the replacement promptly. I was home when they were replacing it, and was surprised it only took 6 hours including clean up. I have dogs and I was worried that there would be nails and debris in my yard afterward, but they cleaned up so nicely it was like they were never there. My roof looks great and I was very happy with how everything went.

I called and spoke with the owner on 11/24. Some shingles had blown off our roof in the recent wind and I needed an estimate for repairs. He said that he would be at my home for an estimate at 1 PM on 11/26. I took time off from work to meet him at 1 PM. At 1:15 PM, he was not here and I had not received a call letting me know he would be late. I called him, he said that another guy that works for him would be here any minute, he just left to come to my home. He arrived at 1:30 PM, looked at the roof, and said he would mail the estimate to me. I let him know that I planned on having the roof repaired this week and asked that he call me today with the quote. He said OK, he would call when he got back to the office and put the information together. Shortly before 5 PM, I called another company, got the estimate and the repairs will be completed on 11/28. If you need a quote or repair in a timely manner I can not recommend calling this company.

EJS was the lowest bid of three that we had quoted, but they were all in the $5300-$6000 range. The 5% discount they give to Angie's List customers is nothing to sneeze at when we are talking thousands of dollars! They estimated our house by using a satellite program to estimate the peak of our roof and size and were the only company to do that. We had the estimate in 3 days which took other companies weeks of calling. When they showed up on the day they stated they would start, there were 6 employees working from sun up to sun down very efficiently. They breaked for an hour at lunch, otherwise worked continuously all day. I could hear them joking and they all seemed to work like a fine-tuned machine. All of them spoke English and seemed very professional. And I must admit, my roof is beautiful :-)

After contacting EJS, within a couple days they stopped by to survey the house/roof to prepare an estimate. I received a comprehensive professionally prepared estimate in the mail approximately 1 week later. After signing and returning the estimate, we were able to setup an approximate date for work to begin. The EJS crew began promptly at 7am on a Monday when estimated. The job was completed in 3 days (the roof was a fairly large job). Each day when I came home from work (somewhere between 6 and 7pm), the crew was still working. They worked diligently until the last sliver of daylight was gone. The job performed was of high quality and the crew cleaned up the area very well. One side note that impressed us - the first evening my wife arrived home from work, as she pulled into the driveway a worker motioned for her to stop. He quickly scanned the driveway for nails to prevent her from picking up any with her car as she drove into the garage. We thought this was indicative of the care that the crew took to make sure our property was protected while they were completing the job. Nice job, EJS. I would recommend you to anyone.

I got prompt responses from EJS when I called for an estimate and had questions. The EJS estimate was the lowest out of 3. The roof job was scheduled two weeks after I approved the estimate. The crew showed up before 7 am and got right to work. The American crew was very competent, hard working, and friendly. EJS told me it would be a one day job but they had to do some wood sheeting replacement and finished the job the next day. I was glad they took the time to do the job right rather than rush it to get it done in one day. They put tarps down all around the house and had a big trailer dumpster for the old roofing material. I had a friend that knows how to do roofing projects and he watched the crew work for a while. He said the crew was very competent and knew how to do the job right. The clean up was very thorough. I am extremely satisfied with the job that EJS did. I recommend EJS to anybody who needs roof repairs/replacement done on a house. The invoice was for the exact amount of the estimate plus a small charge for the wood sheeting. There were no surprises on the invoice. I give EJS 6 A's for a job well done!!

My 100+ year old home needed a new roof, as the old one was getting shabby, and a couple of persistent leaks during heavy rains were causing me great grief. I joined Angie's list for the specific purpose of finding a good, local roofer as the online reviews elsewhere were inconsistent and unreliable. After getting several bids, I settled on EJS who were pretty much in the middle of the pack for price, though with the best recommendations. I am glad for the route I took, too. Ed, the owner and the E in EJS, is a good and knowledgable businessman who explained what my options were and did what we agreed upon. This was a complicated roof on an old home that had many layers and unknowns. Because of the complexity of the job, I decided to go with competence, and I feel like I won. Ultimately, even though a bit higher than some, the price was completely reasonable. The crew showed up early on two consecutive very hot days, and worked close to 14 hours both days. I had asked them to stack the metal for another job (my shed), and it was all done neatly with little to no damage during tear-off (which was hard to believe, as I have worked with metal before, and there was care taken in that aspect). Everything was done that way, too. Ultimately, the job was wrapped up on the third day in the morning, when the site was given a final cleaning and the finishing touches taken care of. The crew was friendly and well-versed in their trade; we talked throughout the process, and I thought they were all good working men. I have two young children, and they were all respectful of that. From bid to completion, this major project was done better than I had anticipated. The roof looks fantastic and I am confident that it was done correctly and with care. The workmanship warranty is a definite plus. There is a reason for their rating, and I only hope they continue to provide such service (as I recommended them to my friend who just bought a home and she is going to use them in the near future too).

Everything was great from start to finish. The estimate was very fair compared to the other 2 I received. Ed himself was very accommodating in answer my questions, getting prices for different kinds of shingles and giving me samples of colors and addresses to look at different colors of shingles already on houses. The crew was there to start at 7:00 AM each morning and worked hard from start to finish. This was a 3 day job due to the pitch of the roof and all the different angles and it was very hot those 3 days days, but they cranked through the roof. They were also very nice and easy to talk with any questions I had while they were working. The clean-up each night before they left was great and at the end of the job they did a fantastic job of clean-up and putting everything they had to move back into place (or asking me where stuff needed to go). Had a couple big storms right after the roof was done and everything is still holding strong. I cannot say anything bad about the experience and would recommend them to anyone!!!

I was surprised that they worked on July 4th, on a holiday. They were there three days in a row and they did a fine job. They were very meticulous as far as cleaning up afterwards, they didn’t anything back. It just came out real neat. It was extremely hot, probably about 100 degrees.

This company was very professional. They either had a person answer the telephone or I had a call back from a person within 24 hours. I loved the personal contact. They gave me an estimate of the date they would perform the work and then when it came close to the date they called to confirm it. Their estimate of how long it would take to do the work was right on. The clean up was impeccable. They placed tarps all around the house to catch debris. I didn’t find a single nail on the ground after they were finished. This company was comparative in price but not the lowest. Because of their professionalism, I recommend them to anyone even if they are a little higher in price.

The first contact was answered promptly and an estimate meeting was arranged. A few days later the estimate and shingle color samples were delivered by mail. No better estimates came. In fact, most companies contacted failed to respond at all. When I accepted the offer, we talked again to schedule the job. He estimated the job would start on July 16, and it did. They started early on the first day, worked nearly until dark, and came back to finish the next day. They were done by mid-afternoon.Apart from the roof being all new, I could hardly tell they had been there. No mess, no mashed plantings, no shingle fragments or nails lying about. Still waiting for a rain to test it, but it looks great.
