Called twice approximately two weeks apart. Left a voice message summarizing the work I wanted done and asked for a return call. Calls were never returned.

Dependable Electric is a name that fits this electrical company: a) Jerry Herb, Dependable Electric, arrived a few minutes before our established time for reviewing our project & establishing an estimate. Jerry listened to understand our needs and he made excellent recommendations. He is a people person. b) Jerry provided both an insurance certificate and their estimate within the time period which they had given. c) Jerry advised for us to simply call him when the project was at a point, that the electrical could be installed without impacting the other contractor who was removing the screens and installing Easy Breeze combinations. d) We provided Jerry with a 5 day advanced notice as to the anticipated time for his part of the project; and he sent Cody, his job-site electrician on the day we specified. e) Cody is also a people person. He offered us some installation alternatives, all of which would meet our Iowa City electrical code. Bur we made the final choice for preferred installations. f) The work performed by Cody passed the city inspector's electrial inspection. The city inspector ran his tests and was very complimentary about the electrical installation. g) While Cody was here we added the request for the sensor switch in our panty. This late in the afternoon additional request resulted in Cody having to return the next week. And he did return, on the very day promised. Dependable Electric, this name is not an exaggeration. We will contact them in the future for any electrical needs. .

He was prompt and courteous. He completed all items on the list without complications.

Arrived a few days earlier than expected as they were able to fit me in sooner than they originally said they could make it out. Once the electrician arrived he was able to quickly install the new circuit. He was able to also fix an issue with my basement wiring so that the lights won't go out in the basement if the GFCI circuit blew. The whole process took less than an hr and the service included all the parts needed to run the new circuit.

It went beautifully. Jerry was professional, courteous & respectful. I would recommend this company to anyone. I live in a mobile home with old wiring so the job was a bit unusual but Jerry did it very well.

Jerry does the bid and the initial estimate. Colby and Rich come later to do the electrical work. They all work well together. They are absolutely on time and show up promptly. They do quality work and complete it in a fast manner. Jerry's bid was in the ball park. He does not over charge. He listens to what I want and how I want it done. Every time we have worked with them, I have always been satisfied. I like their service.

Everything went perfect. Technician arrived on time and when promised. He was quick, efficient, kept me informed of what he was doing and cleaned up after himself. When the bill came in it was less than the estimate.

We received one bid to install a partial generator access to the house for $1,500 from another electrician. After accessing Angie's list, we called Jerry at Dependable Electric for a quote. He came out promptly and proposed a MUCH better solution for less than 1/2 the competitor's cost. Specifically, he installed a 50 amp generator interlock kit on our existing GE breaker panel and supplied all materials (except the generator). He installed a power inlet on the exterior of home near the current meter socket location and connected to 2 pole breaker in the existing electrical panel in our basement. He also supplied a 25? cord set to run between the external power inlet and our generator. We can now easily disconnect from the eletrical grid, power up our large generator, and run all of the essential components in our home - up to and including our air conditioner. We could have installed a smaller 30 amp kit for under $600, and this would have powered every critical need except for the air conditioner.

Of all the services I have hired from Angie list - this is the best service porovider. The communication, promptness, service and honesty impressed me very much. I called for an appointment. The person who picked up the call asked for a quick description of the problem and gave me some things to try for fixing the problem. I could not fix it. I called again. He said he will stop by our house on his way to way to another appointment. He came as promised, fixed the issue, gave estimate for a couple of other things we wanted done and left without charging us. I am still surprised !

The contractor did a great job. The estimator drew maps of the work to be performed and the installer was well prepared on arrival. The cost estimate was adhered to and I would definitely recommend this contractor. We were very pleased with the quality of the work and with the professionalism displayed.

Jerry came and bid the job and said the bid would be worst case scenerio, and no matter what happens once the job is in progress, the cost will never exceed the bid and generally the final bill is lower than the bid. His electrician arrived on time and was very respectful and courteous. He had more trouble than expected when installing a new outlet in the shop room in the basement, so the overall job took a bit longer than anticipated. He worked in a total of five rooms in my house and cleaned up when finished with each project. I'm very pleased with Dependable Electric.

They came to the house and looked over the work to be done in order to give us an estimate. They then called back with an estimate and we scheduled the job. This was all done in a timely fashion. They gave us a approximate date the work would be done and said they would call back with the exact date. They followed thru in a timely fashion and the work was completed to our satisfaction.

This was one of the best experiences I've had with a contractor. Business owner came as scheduled to spec the work for an estimate. The owner is very helpful and personable, asks good questions and makes appropriate suggestions. I received his estimate via email within a week of his visit. Workman arrived as scheduled prepared and ready with a work list matching the estimate. He proceeded through the job without interruption and asked me anytime there were choices to be made. He was pleasant and industrious and clearly in command of the skills of his trade. The wiring was completed in the first day. Since the deck is under construction, mounting the fixtures (which I supplied) must wait until ceiling and wall surfaces are in place. Fixture mounting (but not the fixtures) is included in the original estimate. The deck wiring required rerouting the existing outside service and drilling through vertical studs to route wiring. The new shop circuit required routing wiring over three rooms, dealing with a suspended ceiling and drilling holes in overhead floor joists to run wiring.

They did a quick and excellent job. They took the panel apart and had to do some mechanical modificatoins to make the InterlockKit fit right. And they bettered their estimate by some. I would use them again and do recommend them.
