They are probably the biggest residential use around here. They provide for the most part good service. I had a problem several years ago with them but they came out and corrected it right away. Their punctuality is generally good.

verbal When I called I explained exactly what I needed repaired, and was given a quote. When the repair man came, he did not have the right parts. He left and came back a couple of hours later. When he completed the work, he charged me more than twice what was quoted, and also charged me for the time that it took him to get the parts (I have never been charged for a plumbers time when they were getting parts), even though I had explained in detail what needed to be repaired prior to them coming. I felt ripped off, and though I paid what was asked of me, I never have nor will use this company again.

The service turned out really well. I had three bids and their bid was the most thorough. They listened to what I was asking for and added a lot of details to the bid that I had not even thought about. They listened to my preferences about where to put vents. I was very impressed with them.

I have used Dalton's for major equipment replacements and some small repairs. I have alsway found the entire staff very professional and responsive. I have always called Dalton's first and they have yet to dissapoint me.

I just paid $115.89 to have a routine check on my furnace, which took less than 20 minutes. Now, if you allow for a 10-minute drive to get to my place and another 10 minutes to get to the next appointment (which is about right in this community), it would be a 40-minute labor cost of...$173.84/hour. That's outrageous. A routine furnace check should be no more than $85. But, there's more... Then, the guy who inspected the furnace told me that the ignitor looked like it would go out sometime in the unspecified future. So, I paid an additional $153.39 for him to take ten minutes to install a part that is available online for $33.23 (which includes $26.49 plus $6.74 shipping--and would be substantially cheaper when bought in bulk by a service provider, of course). So, to be fair, let's presume that a mark-up of 50% was charged for the $26.49 ignitor. That means that the materials cost (including part, shipping and profit) would be $46.48. Subtract the $46.48 from the $153.39 charge and I was charged $113.65. In other words, I paid $106.91 for ten minutes of time of a guy who was already on site. Multiply that ten minutes by 6 to get an hourly rate and it means I paid $641.46/hour to have that part installed. That's outrageous. $641.46 an hour!?!?! A more reasonable amount would have been a total bill for $161.48: $85.00 for 20-minute service call, plus $46.48 for the part and shipping, plus $25 for the additional 10 minutes labor. So, rather than pay $269.28, I believe a very reasonable amount would have been $161.48. I believe I was overcharged by $107.80. The person making the appointment was courteous and the service provider was timely, professional and informative. But, the charge was outrageous.On top of all this, I wrote to the company, explaining all of this and asking for a $107.80 refund, based on a more reasonable charge. I waited three months for a reasonable response, with not even a courtesy call to say "sorry, no can do." So, I've decided to share this experience with those who may consider hiring Urban to address their plumbing and heating maintenance needs.

They had to come back three different times to fix a sewer flange on my commode. They came out twice to repair it and on the third visit they replaced it. They are very expensive. I was not happy with my experience with them. I feel they should have done it right the first time. I had to pay $70 for them to come out and then I was charged each time they came out when the problem was not fixed correctly the first time. They were good with getting right out to do the work. I would not use them again in the future.

Had a service man out to fix/replace water heater. He was professional and nice, but a about 20 minutes late for appointment. Quote was very high and there was no negotiating price. I shopped around and found someone else ($400 cheaper and a very excellent work) Probably won't be calling again, now that I know, what I can expect for pricing. Paid service fee of $67

They were really good. They came out and looked over the system that I had. They made some good recommendations. The house is much more comfortable now that they are done. They came out and did everything on time. They even let my husband hang around and observe. The price was okay. I got a bunch of rebates from the utility. I would use them in the future.

We called early. They were there as soon as possible, the same day. It was winter and cold out, but our house had stayed warm enough so we were not worried. He came and had the problem solved quickly. Fixed it and then discussed some options for our old furnance. We have not yet made a dicision on the furnace, but will consider Urban to do the work. We have used Urban in the past for many other projects and have always been pleased.

They were on time, courtesy, and very clean. They were also the lowest bid I received.

They were the first responders - 2 other plumbers did not reply at all! They lined up an app't for the next day, but then I told them it was possibly an emergency - I pressed to get them out there and Bob came out same day.... and said it was OK overnight, and they came out ASAP the next day and did the replacement work! Great men, great service from the woman on the phone, etc.

The service was great. They came out and inspected the old unit which was installed by the contractor building the house and determined the original equipment was undersized and inefficient for our home. They also were very informative of available programs offered by CFU to provide rebates making the purchase price very attractive. They went above and beyond to make sure we had the proper equipment, installed quickly (during a heat wave) and followed up after the service was complete.

Excellent. They came when they said they would. They cleaned up all the mess (including some that I couldnt get at from before the old water softener could be removed) were pleasent and courteous, and did what I asked them to do.

Well the serviceman cut open the wall and found an old iron pipe was rusted through. Sounds perfect until the weight of a huge iron pipe surprised this big guy and he promptly dropped it on the bathroom counter top sink and breaking that in half. It was a nice marble looking top. So he ended up replacing the pipe with a plastic one and replaced the counter top and left. Left with a huge hole in the wall. After some complaining they eventually redid the wall and charged top dollar. Way overpriced and definitely not professional. Anyone cutting into a big iron pipe should know it's heavy. I only bring this up now because it's leaking again. The wall they repaired is constantly wet. Sigh. We've used Young and A1 since then. Among others.
