I WAS DISSAPPOINTED THAT IT TOOK TWO MEN AND THAT THEY MADE A HOLE IN PLASTERBOARD.

I called at 8:30 in a panic because there was water coming in from the furnace and I was staying in upstate NY that afternoon. The TMI agent managed to get someone to the house within two hours. Thank you!

Same as above except we did have to pay for the first plumber from another company and still had the water in the basement when he left and it was not a broken pipe.

They were incredibly friendly and informative. They had different options. We liked the fact that we were able to finance through them and that helped out a whole lot considering the situation that we were in, so we would recommend them to anybody. They were right on the dot as far as competitiveness was concerned. Their responsiveness and punctuality were amazing and their professionalism was outstanding. Our experience couldn’t be more positive. We would call them back again for anything else that we have.

I was happy with the price. They came in, they were clean, and they were fast. I called them in the morning and they were there in the afternoon. I haven't had a problem since. When I called they gave me a two hour window and then they called before they came out. They were within that time frame so they were punctual.

Our oven was not working and we can smell gas as we turn it on over Memorial Day weekend. We waited until tuesday before calling so we don't pay extra for the holiday weekend. On Tuesday, we called about 1:00 pm and they was there at 2:30 pm. That is quick service! Andrew is very professional and courteous. He is very friendly and answer our questions. It took him about 30 minutes to analyze and repair the igniter to the stove. He had the part available in his truck, and also very through in cleaning the area. He pointed out that we will smell the grease burning off when turn it on the first time. The discounts we received is the senior citizen discount and a $35.00 discount from Angie's List. I would recommend the company to our friends and family.

They were professional and completed all the work in one day. Will continue to use them for any other project.

Their people were very professional however they flooded my downstairs. I had to have the motor blower replaced three times and the mother board twice in one year. The owner of the company told me they were only accessories and would not swap it out. I would not recommend them or use them again. Noticed they responded to my earlier review. They DID NOT fix the issue regarding the controls for the humidifier. They put the control for it UP IN THE RAFTERS on a duct, with a clearance for your head that is approximately 8" wide - you have to reach up in the space and guess at what the control settings are. This means we have to take a ladder, climb up, reach into the space and set it, without knowing what we are setting it on. So our issues were never resolved.

.I give them good ratings and will continue to use them in the future.

Their service man was polite and took care of the problem as promptly as he could. They came when they said. I would use them again in the future.

They were very good. They were efficient and explained everything they were going to do. They offer free estimates and they stick to the estimate.

Took less than 1 hour to complete entire service, and provided free education at the same time.

We got a TMI Home Warranty with the purchase of our home. We bought our home in Feb. and come summer had continual problems with our A/C. Our first experience (and $60) was a technician coming out, looking at our unit and saying that it wasn't covered, then he left. They argued with us that our unit wasn't covered even though there were no exclusions to our home warranty. They said it was their fault, but still didn't want to cover it. Our realtor ended up getting involved, and they agreed to have someone look at it. The service technician was rude and talked to me like I was a 2 year old. After several visits (and $60 each visit for same problem) things seemed to be working. We had the fan on and not 10 min later we smelled smoke, our attic (where our A/C fan is located) was full of smoke and the fan almost started on fire. The same service technician came out and when I explained the issue his words were "yeah, I thought something like that might happen." And you didn't think to warn us?!? Horrible experience and the only way we actually got our issues with the A/C fixed was to threaten legal action. The one and only visit for our boiler was ok, with the exception of the rude technician (which I had just come to expect by then.)

I called on Friday and received an appointment on Monday. I was pleased with both the scheduling and the service personnel. They were very polite and worked quickly on my refrigterator repair.

The man that was sent out was very attentive to detail and did a very good job. He cleaned up after the job was done and carried everything out. I am please with all the work that they have provided to me.

There was nothing really horrible about these guys - Like somebody else mentioned - they charge a flat fee for coming out. It seemed like for the minor jobs they did for me, the fee I paid, plus the cost of the warranty (paid by realtor) was on the high side. They did average work.

They are a very good quality company. They provide good service and good follow through.

We had one year of home-warranty through TMI as provided by the seller during our closing on the purchase of the home. The cost to the seller was ~$450 for this warranty that went to the buyer. It was not explained that each service call cost us (the buyer) $75 (deductible/co-pay/service fee, what have you.) We called TMI shortly after we moved in when our garbage disposal seized up. The house (at that point) was ~3 years old. TMI was very responsive and professional and charged us the $75 service fee to use an allen wrench on the bottom of the disposal to loosen a cap screw that took all of three minutes. We never called TMI again, and did not renew the warranty when it expired, and have no further desire to ever use TMI services.

The work and parts were very good, much better the the parts from the box hardware stores that I had been using in the past. The standpipe was still sluggish after the repair, and the worker returned to snake it out more extensively after which it performed well. I thought the charge for the work was extremely high.

Overall TMI is great. We know we can call them and even if they're extremely busy, they will get someone to your home and fix what needs to be fixed. During this last heatwave our air conditioning went out. The unit was still under warranty that was purchased and installed by TMI. They evaluated the problem, fixed it, and had us sitting cool and frosty in no time with no fees charged because of the warranty.

My central air unit stopped cooling so I called TMI. They got a technician out same day. He fixed the problem but said the condenser was sounding bad and didn't know how long it would last. It was installed in 1991. He was right a week later it went out. I called TMI again and they had a man out to do an estimate same day. He was friendly, I believe honest and wasn't pushy. The $70 for the service call the week before was also taken off the price of the new ac unit. So I went with them. They had 2 men out the next business day to install a central air unit. The men looked and acted very professional throughout the entire install. They had all the proper equipment and the entire instal took 4 hours and 30 minutes. It has been over 10 days since. I wanted to wait a little before I wrote a review, just in case. But I haven't had any trouble with the unit. The entire experience was very positive and everything was just as they said, no surprises. Oh there was 1 surprise... a week after the install the man who gave me the estimate on the new ac sent me a $20 gift certificate at a local restaurant.... a nice little touch. Im sorry I don't remember the names.

The 2" waste line from a full bath clogged at a basement joint during the home warranty period of our "new-to-us" old house. House is turn of the century vintage. The bathroom was remodelled with all new piping work in the last 5 years. Thus the unclog fee is reduced to the deductable of the warranty. (The standard charge is $175 for this same work.) The clogged joint was at the connection of the 2" line to the 4" line going out of the house. This service was completed on a Thurs. The water flowed as usual for several days. It snowed like no other on Feb2 ("100 year blizzard" and all) and on the following Thurs, I noticed a little water on the floor of the basement. The basement has other known leaks, so I first assumed it was melt water from the 16" of snow. But after several more days, I figured out it was waste water (including sewage) from the 4" drain pipe backing up thru the drain in the basement floor. I called TMI back and asked them to fix the new clog now in the 4". TMI said this is not under warranty as the clog is likely outside the walls of the house and the warranty only covers pipes inside the walls. They still quoted; $379 which included a camera scan of the 4". TMI rep Tony guessed it was tree roots clogging the pipe. Fair enough. The part that I did not like is that Tony said when they cleaned my 2" pipe, they likely pushed the blockage into the 4" pipe and "anything that is 2" in dia will always fit in a 4" pipe." But I thought differently. I proposed that the 2" clog was pushed into the 4", caught on a partial blockage already in the 4" pipe and completely blocked the pipe. Tony was VERY adament that all 2" blockages never cause blockages in a 4" line after all, 2" is always smaller than 4". Plus he's been doing this for years and years. Because Tony was a "messager" and neither of us knew with ANY certain what the 4" blockage was, there was no reason to press the point. I called a 2nd drain un-clogger and had the pipe cleared for another $185 the next day after TMI came the 2nd time. The other company said, in writing, the clog was a "soft" clog and not tree roots. This is were the rub came. Because of the better knowledge of the clog, I asked TMI to refund the $75 from the first clog. (My wife wanted them to completely pay for the $185 for the 4" clog) This, in my mind, was a way to show the customer great service and still not admit that they were the total cause of the 4" clog. I understand that TMI was not the complete source of the clog. The partial blockage in the 4" was not their problem. EVENTUALLY, that partial would be a full clog and I would have to call an unclogger. But likely after the warranty was up and they could get the full price. And the truth is I would have called TMI first in that case as they did a reasonable job on this service call. TMI would have none of it. I spoke with Tom, the head of the plumbing dept, after another several days of trying to reach him. His tone from the first word was not to understand the issue. His tone was demeaning and unprofessional. He did not attempt to understand that the 2" clog in the 4" pipe could have possibly been an issue. We went in circles for 30 mins. He told me of all his vast experience. The funny thing is one was of dishwasher powder that clogged a 2" line. If dishwasher powder, hair, wiskers, sentiments, etc can clog a 2" line, 2" objects can clog a 4" line. All clogged pipes are clog because of something smaller than the pipe building up in the pipe and made a complete blockage. Tom never could understand such a point after I tried stating it several different ways. His way was ALWAYS the right way. Finally, I tolded him, I was hoping for a better outcome cause I planned on putting a reiew in Angie's List. He said, (quote) "Oh, I have to write this down", some question about if I was threating him and he will contact the lawyers. I asked him if he was threatening me. Why can I not write my experience with him on Angie's List? There is no law against stating my opinion of TMI. And do be fair, there is no law stating TMI has to agree with me. At the end of the day, Tom's behaviour was such that I can now use a different company for my HVAC and plumbing needs without a pause of if I should have used TMI.

the most expensive estimate I received out of 4, found material costs less than 2000.00 on a 6000.00 $ bid , less than 2 day job

our furnace went out on a Saturday. Found our ignitor to be burnt out...we took it out ourselves...easy repair. $130 to come out. Ok it was Saturday, I expected to pay out the mouth. $180 for the part. I googled the part myself and found that it was a $24 part that they want $180 for. Found Young's in Port Byron who met us at their shop and sold us the part for $50. Had heat approx 2 minutes after we got the part home.

The service man showed up on time, made the repair and then did the eztra service I requested.
