Furnace went out in the middle of the night. We called Neighbors first thing in the morning. They showed up very quickly and had us up and going within 2 hours.

They were real good. They were professional. They cleaned up well after themselves, and they made sure that everything was the right sizes, and everything is just like it is supposed to be. I am real happy with them.

They’re easy to make an appointment with, prompt and show up when they say they are going to show up. They are thorough, professional and nice.

They were very thorough and very good. I got a call from them earlier to say they were in the area, and they would like to come over and see how the job was going along. Their price was in line with another estimate that we got, but the other one did not include the concrete work. They were very professional, and I felt like they knew what they were doing. They said they will keep looking at it until the radon level was at a certain level.

What impressed me most about Neighbors is that all of the other companies that came to give estimates ignored the cracks in my basement floor. I was told at the estimate that only the major cracks would need to be filled, but the technicians who did the work actually filled every little visible crack (no additional expense) AND fabricated a sort of hose applicator (out of Romex cable sheath) in order to seal the space between the concrete flooring and the PVC drain pipe to the shower that was only accessible via the back side of the shower, reaching way underneath it. This was not written into the agreement that this would be done and there was no additional charge, so their work very much exceeded my expectations. I am one very happy customer and will recommend them to all friends and relatives who inquire.

Neighbors came out, looked things over and gave us an estimate. They made sure we understood how the work would be done and what was and was not included in the estimate. The crews actually arrived exactly when they said they would. Each crew was very nice. They explained anything I asked and really went out of their way to accommodate me. They did absolutely everything they said they would with some extras thrown in. They made sure everything was done properly to work effectively and efficiently. I can't say enough about how great these guys are!! We've been snug and warm on the coldest (-25) of days. These folks know how to do business the way it should be done. I would not think twice about using "Neighbors" again and I recommend them to everyone.

The installers were very efficient quick and neat and professional the salesman was very personable, presented all facts, very info motive without pressuring.

It was a good first appointment. The person that came over told me he wanted to schedule with someone else because of the problems I had with the bathroom vent, so it would probably be necessary to break walls upstairs to be able to vent the bathroom correctly. So they came over the next week, got all the information, answered all my questions, were very polite, etc. When they left they told me that they would be emailing me the quote. didn't give me a time frame, but I am used to quotes being delivered in less then 2 weeks, specially by email. 2 weeks later I called them to ask if they sent the quote and make sure they had the right email, in case that it was sent to the wrong email. They confirmed they had the right email and that they would be sending right away. It's been another week and no quote, no calls, nothing from them. So I cant evaluate their price and quality of service performed. Next day update. They called me the next day apologizing for what happened and stating that they did sent me the quote although I didn't receive it and asking if I am still interested on getting it. Right now I already have another person to perform the job for me. But I do appreciate the fact that they did take the time to call me and I guess I was just unlucky with the experience. All other clients seems to have a good experience with them and I may try their services in the future if needed.

The work went excellent. The salesman was thourough, informative, and cordial. The installers were excellent, neat and clean, efficient, and friendly.

The new American Standard heat pump provides a marked improvement on our summertime comfort. Everyone we dealt with was very friendly, courteous and conscientious but the installation process was frustrating. To some extent, that was not the fault of Neighbors but some of it was. Our old AC unit stopped cooling well and we called for service. We decided to try Neighbors based on Angie's list as well as our neighbor's recommendation. A service technician came right away and determined we had a leak in our condenser coils, which would need to be replaced. Because of the age of our system, we decided to replace everything and we went with a heat pump for the energy efficiency. The jury is still out on how our power bills will compare to before but in theory they should be lower. The whole process took a long time. The first service call was in late June, and we placed the order for a new system on July 2. The main installation occurred on July 17 and we had cooling as of that date but the zoning and thermostats were not yet working properly. We had an unusual baffle system that zoned upstairs vs. downstairs. Initially, Neighbors thought they could integrate it with the new thermostats but ultimately they could not and we had to get new zoning dampers in our ducts. It took 2 more days to figure this out and this delayed completion of the installation by a couple weeks while they ordered the parts. We payed for the parts but they did not charge us any extra for installation. Even then, the thermostats were not working properly. The outside temperature sensor needed to be replaced as well as one of the thermostats. Finally, by August 13, the cooling system was functioning properly. Through all this, we never had to pester them. Neighbors responded promptly when we notified them of the problems and they were as frustrated as us.y Then in October when we turned on the heating system it became apparent that there was a problem. The thermostats, heat pump and furnace were somehow not communicating. Before reaching temperature, the thermostats would switch to "Aux Heat" mode where the furnace is supposed to kick in. But the furnace did not come on and once it hit that setting, the heat pump quit and would not come on again until either the thermostat program cycled forward to the next setting, or we manually reset it. It was impossible to start the furnace even using the "EM-HEAT" setting on the thermostat which is supposed to bypass the heat pump and directly control the furnace. We called on Friday, Oct. 18 we called and a service technician came the next Monday. He said he could not find a problem and would have Ed the electrician call the next day. He never called and finally on Friday I called them. The receptionist said he had a note that Ed was supposed to call us but still he did not. Finally on Monday, Oct. 28 I called them again and was able to talk to Ed. He came over on Tuesday and acknowledged the system was not working properly but could not identify the problem. My wife had been doing some research and found that the description for the Honeywell zone controller they installed did not appear to match our system and that there was another one recommended for 2-stage heat pump/2-stage furnace systems. We had brought this up over the phone but were told the control board was appropriate. But finally Ed conceded that they might have installed the wrong control board and said he would order the other one. On Nov 6, Neighbors called us, Ed came over the next day and now, finally, the system works.

I am very pleased with the overall experience. I had a leak in my current AC and they identified it last season. Following this they came out and did a load calculation on the house and gave a me several options.I decided to go ahead with the installation this season. They installed an American Standard unit. The work was done promptly and in a professional manner. In fact they are ready to send in the rebate forms themselves as well. Overall, I recommend them without hesitation and will use them in the future.

First service call was to determine what the problem was with the radon unit as it had stopped working. Also to install sump pump that we had purchased. As the sump pump is in an enclosed pit my husband did not want to install it. The service company that installed our radon unit had gone out of business . I looked on the Internet for a reputable service company and found Neighbors. The service rep determined the radon fan had burnt out and needed to be replaced. My husband and I were concerned about our radon unit since the company that installed had gone out of business. Justin from Neighbors explained how our system was put together. He explained that it was in good shape except for needing the new fan. As for the replacement sump pump we had bought for him to install he recommended we purchase a different model and gave us some suggestions. The model we had purchased did not have a covered switch and as a result the switch tends to go out sooner. With a closed sump pump we need a model that lasts longer. The second trip was to install the radon fan and sump pump. The service call went fine with no problems. Staff were easy to work with in meeting our schedule and arrived on time. Kathy in the home office worked with us on billing and scheduling. We were very satisfied with the staff and work done. Everyone is very helpful and professional.

Our radon levels were just below 19 before the mitigation and less than 1 after. The workers were careful, considerate and competent. I believe they went well beyond the call of duty throughout the process. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone.

My thermostat didn't work, and heating was not functioning. We called the company in the morning, and they came over withing quickly and solved the problem. The staff recommended us to have a routine check up on the furnace, which we agreed.

Neighbors provided us with information on several options for the replacement of our old furnace. They did the research on what incentives and options were available so we knew exactly what the final price would be up front. We scheduled a time for the removal of our old furnace and the installation of the new one. They showed up on time, had all the inspection approvals handled and when an unknown problem arose with the inspection they handle the correction with no additional cost to us. The installation was completed on time and very professionally. After the installation a service tech explained all the options and how our new thermostat worked. We called them back several times for adjustments to make the furnace run exactly at the most optimal speed for our comfort. They were great and never an additional charge. When the tax incentives were extended for this year they sent us a note to remind us of the possible tax incentive and the paperwork we would need. I would highly recommend there service.

My experience with this company is a real enigma. They presented themselves in a very professional manner in terms of their website, vehicles, presentation, sales process and installation. However, service after the installation as well as some of the installed components have been a disappointment. Sales process - very professional, knowledgeable and priced competitively with other companies - I would give them a B Installation - The team that installed the equipment were very professional, conscientious, prompt and dedicated to doing quality work - they were great and I would give them an A+ Materials and equipment - Major equipment (geothermal) appears to be of good quality from a reputable manufacturer. Peripheral equipment (air diffusers, water heater, thermostats) appear to be less expensive, lower end products. Air diffusers are plastic models that had to be modified by the installers in order to fit the vents. Air flow causes them to unscrew from the base and fall to the floor and two have broken already. Water heater was not energy star rated and thermostats in two of the three zones were inadequate to fully utilize the functionality of the equipment. It should be noted that after our complaint, one of the thermostats has been upgraded but we are still waiting for the other. Service after installation - shortly after installation we had a cold front come through and found that two of the 3 zones were not working properly. I made numerous calls to the sales person but no action was taken. I also called the service technician and left messages stating the problem. These calls were not returned and no action was taken. In fairness, this occurred over the holiday season. I finally had to call the owner to get a response. A week later they were here to fix the problem which turned out to be improper wiring and a non-compliant thermostat. The technician did not have adequate information on the equipment to fix the problem so a temporary solution was put in place. A week later they returned to fix the wiring and replace one thermostat with a slightly upgraded model. Follow-up - I had to again contact the owner in order to get them to follow-up on rebates and tax incentives. I was disappointed when he tried to hit me up for additional charges after we had agreed during the sales process that our contract would cover all costs. Installing a new geothermal system was a learning experience. We were likely over dependent on Neighbors to ensure quality materials and did not think about questioning the quality of the vents (air diffusers), water heater and thermostats before signing a contract. In retrospect, we should have questioned every component including those that seem minor. We simply did not think about them cutting corners on these components. The service is still a big question for us. We are located on the outside edge of there normal service territory so it may be different if we were closer. We questioned this during the sales process and were assured service availability 24/7. We will see what happens in the future. We still have one zone not working properly which is partially due to the low end thermostat.. Overall, I think Neighbors has the potential to be a good or even great company. They do some things very well but need to extend this throughout their customer commitment. Since my previous review, management at Neighbors has been involved in an attempt to correct the original issues. I appreciate their direct involvement and we are making progress in acheiving the original goal of three zone heating and cooling. I do believe this company is dedicated to providing quality products and service in a professional manner and to fulfilling their commitments. My experience working with Neighbors Heating and Cooling has improved over time and I would recommend them to others within their service area.

The furnace shut down early Christmas morning.Called for a repair on the 26th and had it done by 5:00.

Service was very professional. Technician was punctual and provided good explanation of what he was going to cover as well as follow up on what he found. Price was reasonable and overall very satisfied.

Service was very professionally done. I appreciated the fact that rather than risk breaking the valve at the curb box, which would have required an extremely expensive and extensive repair, they were able to freeze the pipe in the basement and complete the replacement of the corroded pressure fitting.

My air conditioner quit blowing cold air due to freezing up as a result of coolant leaks. A technician came by and diagnosed the problem. Given the apparent severity of the leaks he recommended that we not try to repair the unit or the lines but to replace both the air conditioner and the furnace. They were 18 years old. Doug Wierson came by a couple of days later, looked at my house, made some measurements and talked to me about alternatives. He came back a few days later with four alternative estimates based on different heating and cooling options. In the meantime I had looked up American Standard products in Consumer Reports and in a couple of other places and was pleased with their quality. Based on discussion with Doug we chose one of the furnace/heat pump options. The technicians returned about a week later and installed the new furnace, air conditioner and lines. They did a nice job, removed all the old products and cleaned up neatly. They were personable and answered all my questions. There were a few issues with their web site in dealing with financing. Neighbors was very persistent in solving these problems, which were not entirely their fault. The people on the phone at Neighbors are always polite and helpful. I feel like I am an important customer. I have used Neighbors for all my heating and cooling needs for several years and have been very happy with their service.

We got bids from several contractors in the area, but Neighbors was able to give us the highest efficient rated furnace for least amount of expenditure. They searched and found us rebates (which they filed for us) bringing the $3864 bill down to only a $2234.72 investment. The installers arrived on time, did exactly as quoted. In fact they found a problem in the location of our condensation removal. The guys fixed the problem at no additional cost to us. After the installers left, the service representative showed up to explain all the features and how to best utilize our system. After using the system for a week we found that we did not like how the blower and circulation of air was working so we called and the very next day someone arrived to discuss what was happening and correct the problem. Neighbors Heating & Cooling were very professional, conscience and we will definitely work with them in the future.
