Comprehensive discussion of what will be done, included pictures, good discussion of the actual mechanism that removes the radon. Once scheduled the process was completed in about 3 hours - walked me through what was done. The final product looked just liked the pictures. Discussed maintenance before leaving. All went well and was pleased. Radon's now at healthy levels.

We had neighbors bid on and install hvac at two different times. We needed a new furnace in 2015 and a new air conditioner in 2018. We were very pleased with the price and service we received both times. The repairmen we courteous and professional and the sales and office people were excellent.

A home we had bought needed radon mitigation to reduce the radon level below the EPA recommended 4 pCi/L level. Being an older home which had been extensively added onto by previous owners, the construction which included approx. 1/3 over a small basement, 1/3 over two separate areas of concrete slab, and 1/3 over a very low overhead clearance crawl space complicated consideration of how best to correct the radon issue. Before contacting Neighbors Plumbing, Heating, A/C & Radon I had visited with and received estimates from several other companies but the only option they presented was variations of the usual sub-slab depressurization type system, which would have presented complications to install in this application and been very time-consuming. When I contacted Neighbors, after inspecting our home, in addition to the usual sub-slab depressurization method their very knowledgable representative Randy Newman was able to present a quote for an entirely different available radon reduction option, installation of the RenewAire Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) system. It's cost was competitive with the other options, and the unit itself very well adapted to both the location where it would be installed and the existing radon levels we wished to lower. So we scheduled an installation date. The installation went perfectly in every way, from the arrival of Randy and Scott around 8:30am until completion by noon. They managed to mount the ERV unit in the most ideal location, a small upper storage 'attic' above a bedroom with short runs of duct work, carefully and logically laid out to conserve space. The workmanship and efficiency by Randy and Scott in completing this installation was really exceptional, the system works exactly as expected. Based on our experience, I would highly recommend calling Neighbors for an estimate on any radon mitigation work you are considering!

It passed and the certificate was submitted to the City.

Called Neighbors around 8:15 AM and they said they could have someone out between 9 and 11 AM that day. I was at work so they asked for my phone number in case the technician needed to contact me. Got a phone call shortly after 11 AM saying it was finished, told me what part was replaced, the cost and it was working and everything else looked good so was happy to know I would be coming home to a warm house. Very prompt and professional.

We hired Neighbors to replace our furnace and air conditioner and we have been very happy with how it all turned out. Neighbors was the one provider who showed me their load calculations, and they quoted a few different equipment options. Their quote also showed the model numbers of the equipment so I could do research and compare my options. From the estimator to the install team to the start-up tech, everyone was courteous, prompt, and extremely competent. I highly recommend their services if you are in the market for a new furnace and air conditioner. We love our new system and the energy and cost-savings it provides.

They came out 3 times, because the wet clay ground under my slab made it very difficult to get the radon level where I wanted it. They were very gracious and tweaked the system without complaint. They finally had to put in a second pipe. They were professional, courteous and prompt, and on the third try the levels went down to about 2, which is a good level.

Excellent! The problem was solved with the diagnosis from Neighbors.I had been having problems with drains in one of my rental homes. I was in New York when it happened. Water was coming down through the ceiling and into the basement. I asked neighbors to come and help diagnose the problem and it their recommendation solved the problem.

It took all day to install to install new furnace. They did a great job. Very happy with the new furnace and the support and help they gave after the installation.

Arrived on time, finished job in 45 min and that cost 485.00! That was in addition to the 100.00 we already paid for a brief service visit.

Aside from a scheduling incident which Neighbors quickly resolved, everything went perfectly. Plumber showed up on time, called when he was finished, and everything is working great now. Office helped me get rebate forms taken care of.

John promptly responded to all of my questions. The "worker bees" we're efficient, professional, friendly. We were told we would be without water for up Up to 3 hrs.....it was only 30 mins.

The job was done quickly and the installer was punctual and cleaned up after himself. I needed a few extra favors from the company (forms needed for the sale of this house) and they were most willing to help. Would definitely recommend this company for radon work.

I have been a Neighbors customer for 14 years. I have never thought about switching to other companies that provide similar services. Neighbors staff have always been courteous over the phone when scheduling appointments, listening to issues or getting those weekend calls. The service techs do an excellent job of explaining issues and options when problems arise. In the case of my sump pump, I actually have three pumps. I pump 1 checked to be sure it was operating correctly and the tech noticed that the switch was failing because water would rise a couple of inches above the pump before it would kick on. He did a great job of explaining to me how my sump pumps were installed and how they work as backups for the first. I'm glad he had one in his van that day because it seems like the new pump has been working nonstop with all the rain that we have received since spring. I am a member of Neighbor's Comfort Club, so it is up to them to schedule my air conditioning and furnace checks so I don't have to worry. It is also great that they have service techs on call on the weekends and I usually get a call back within 30 minutes after calling the answering service. I would highly recommend Neighbors to anyone!

Great customer service and very professional. Randy came out to plan the installation and answer my questions. The installers showed up on time and did a great job. They had an amazing setup to keep the area clean while they drilled a hole in the basement floor for the mitigation. They discussed with me where they would be putting the pipes both inside and outside. When I sent in the second radon testing kit and the reading came back alittle higher that recommended, they came back are put in a different fan to pull more air. I highly recommend Neighbors.

I enjoyed working with Neighbors. I received three bids for a new furnace and A/C, and the bid from Neighbors was right in the middle in price. However, it was hard to compare across bids since each company recommended different sizes and carried different brands. One thing we really liked about Neighbors was that they use American Standard equipment, which gets top ratings from Consumer Reports. Overall I felt their price was fair, and installation went according to plan, and right on schedule. The final price of $6,200 was after receiving rebates totaling over $1,000. I have only complaint, and it's really nothing that Neighbors is responsible for. After installation, there are some substantial rebates for installing energy efficient equipment. One of those is a large rebate ($700) from Alliant energy for the efficient furnace. However, the rebate is dependent on the outcome of efficiency testing that Neighbors conducts after installation, and so they could not guarantee that my system would pass and that I would qualify for the rebate. However, they did promise that they would not leave me high and dry if I didn't pass, and that there were things they could tweak to make sure my system would pass. In the end it didn't matter, as my system passed the efficiency tests and the rebate arrived in full. In sum, I had an excellent experience with Neighbors, and would use them again.

Someone came to our home, looked at our basement situation, explained thoroughly how a mitigation system works, told us what they could provide and gave us the cost. We had sent in a radon kit earlier and the level was 13.1. Two men came from Neighbors Heating and Cooling to install the radon system and a new sump pump. They were knowledgeable and polite, and completed the system in a few hours. We sent in a second radon kit and the level was less than .6.

Stayed here until all was well. Checked a frozen pipe and stayed until it was thawed.

We'd been having trouble getting anyone in the Des Moines area to even make a timely initial consultation appointment for our radon issue. It seemed everyone was just too busy to come out and meet with us outside of regular business hours. We called Neighbors, even though they are more than an hour from us, and not only did they not fuss about the weekend appointment, but they came out almost immediately! They were friendly and very knowledgeable and had not problem working outside the box on a unique situation. When the two gentlemen came out to do the work they arrived as scheduled, got right to work, kept the work area spotless and finished in a very reasonable amount of time. We found them easy to talk to and work with. We highly recommend Neighbors for their above and beyond customer service and quality of work!

Our first interaction with our point of contact went well. We were given lots of information in both oral and written form. Sales person was not pushy and was very prompt with his estimates. We accepted the proposal, scheduled an installation date, andproceeded to have the system installed. The workers were punctual, quiet, courteous, and efficient. The system works well and we are very happy with it. Would definitely rrecommend and use them again.
