Description of Work: We've used RHM many times in the past on the Big Island. The last time was to move my elderly parents from there to Oahu. They had a modest 2 bedroom apartment that they were moving out of, and not much to move at that, as they had done their major 'move and de-clutter' some years before. Many, many bad and unprofessional things happened that day. We certainly were not treated like valued customers, and the quoted packing time stretched from 'a few hours' to all day, threatening to miss the container deadline at the port. (they sent a smaller crew to help them pack than was originally told to us). In addition, one of the packers set an entire sheaf of packing paper on the stovetop and inadvertently turned on the burner by rubbing up against it I suppose, causing it to catch fire, from which he ran away from. I was standing at the sink, and was able to grab the burning papers and throw them into the sink to put out the fire. No apology EVER came from that incident. Then, they loaded a pair of wing back chairs my parents have had since they got married with no padding on them, only paper (with a lot of the chair exposed). We had asked them to be especially careful of these chairs, but when they came off the truck at the delivery end, one of the legs had splintered off due to the lack of padding. We had opted to take full insurance, but even this was a nightmare, as we had to get an adjuster out of our own in order to verify value, and adjusters don't really have time to come out and give an opinion, they are busy with their primary job. All-in-all, it took months to get this resolved, and spent thousands of dollars with this moving company to get a check for a tiny (tiny) fraction of that. Oh, and the day they moved in, we got a call from the RHM 'greeter', who wanted my parents to come meet him in the street in his car because he had an 'Aloha Pineapple' to welcome them to Oahu and he didn't feel like finding a place to park (they moved to Waikiki with plenty of metered parking on their street). My parents are in their mid to late 80s with mobility issues, so they called me to go get their 'Aloha Pineapple'. If you have a choice between a moving company run by meth addicts and RHM, choose the druggies, at least you know what your getting right up front.

Description of Work: 1. As they were rushing unpacking the boxes they threw away smaller objects, one that was especially needed to complete another therefore leaving a special floor mirror unable to be used. | |2. Bathroom toilet was clogged and floor flooded by employee.

Description of Work: I waited for a consultation that never showed up and when I called him after waiting a hour he said he overbooked and yet told me he was coming himself at a certain time. He was courteous bit at the same time not punctual. He also never called me back for a day or two I had to inquire about my quote which makes it seem like responsiveness is pretty low. So unfortunately I have to give them a "D" may not be what people want but I'm just one person that wasn't happy with my service

Description of Work: A sister company picked up our household in Arizona. Then ROYAL HAWAIIAN MOVERS delivered our goods. They were courteous, efficient, and punctual. We are happy with thier service and will recommend them to others.

Description of Work: It was a hard move for me, as my husband had died in July, and I was moving to be near my daughter in Maui, HI. When they came and surveyed what all I wanted to move, they were kind and thorough, and I felt comfortable with Brian. I was able to contact Megan Dickman at any time by phone, for any questions that I had. I feel as if I know her personally after having talked with her so often. She was wonderful!! When all my furniture and household contents arrived, my daughter was able to accept them, and have them delivered to my new home. Everything seems to be in good condition, although I have not been able to move into my home, as there are still repairs being done on it. But as I've looked around, I believe everything arrived, and I have not noticed anything broken. Description of Work: Moved from Honolulu HI back to Denver Colorado. They came twice to check our items, made special crate for flat screen tv, the packers were great, fast and very professional. They had other movers to bring our items from CA once arrived by sea, everything went well and nothing broken. Very pleased with Royal Hawaiian, got estimates with three movers in HI and their price was in the middle.

Description of Work: Full Service moving from Seattle, WA to Kahului, Maui, HI. Single price per pound that includes pack, pickup (two locations), shipment, delivery at destination and unpacking. Packing materials were included as well as carting away materials after unpack. No hidden costs nor tariffs, etc. Two insurance/damage coverage options available. If no elevator, minimal stairs extra surcharge possible (i did not have any).

I filed a police report and the detectives response back to me was, "miss, I went and spoke with each of the men that was at your home and they told me they didn't do it. so I believe they didn't do it."...... REALLY?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure he gets his cut somehow. my dealings with the police in Hawaii for the 5 years we lived there is that rent-a-cops in malls are better than they are! Anyone interested in filing a class action? I'm going to file a suite... care to join?Our pack out was 2/10/11 and our shipment was in storage for 5 months. We just finished unpacking now that we are in Connecticut and not one single box was free from damage. $56,700.00 worth of damages!!!! Horrible. I turned paperwork in for the claim Saturday. Thankfully the move was a FRV (full replacement value) by the military and they will go after them and my homeowners will cover a small portion of the jewelry.... they need to be shut down and put in jail.They packed the kitty litter scooper with my 6mo old baby girls bottles!!!!!!!! the toilet plunger with our kitchen boxes of food and pasta.... Royal Hawaiian Movers are a joke and disgrace to the industry and it's because of idiots like them that the rest of the industry takes heat. I took photos and video of all the damage as I was opening each box. . . they broke off the top of our clothes valet / butler and taped it back to the main piece.. and lazy......they left dresser drawers full and then taped around the entire surface of the dresser to keep the drawers shut, then when the tape was removed it took the finish with... I had a Hebrew bible dating to 1700's valued at over $10,000 that they just threw in a box and it was destroyed. I have a word document 64 pages long with 5-6 photos on each sheet showing the stupid things they did. Horrible... run from these guys!
