The moving teams - on both ends of the move - were professional and efficient. Royal Hawaiian Movers allowed us to store our goods at their warehouse (for a reasonable fee) and granted access to them on several occasions. The teams arrived on time and finished before the anticipated time.

I contracted Royal Hawaiian Movers and then they subcontracted another company.

We had never hired a moving company before and were pleased with how much Royal Hawaiian Movers was willing to hold our hands. They made it very clear each step of the way who our contact person was (it changed depending on what phase of the move we were in) and that person was always willing to answer any silly questions we had and very prompt with their responses. Sometimes it felt like we weren't getting enough info unless we asked, but everything worked out very smoothly so perhaps we were just being paranoid about our first experience with movers! We are still unpacking boxes (our choice - the movers offered to do it for us) but so far all of our fragile things have come through just fine, including many large framed pictures with glass. The team that delivered our goods in Hawaii was especially fun.

Royal Hawaiian Movers moved me into this house and out again. It isn't an easy house to reach, on a narrow street with a steep drive, but no problem. They did an incredible job. The guys were funny and hard-working, they made a stressful time much easier. I can't say enough good things about them, and I have moved a lot. I would use them again in a heart-beat.

From start to finish the movers were always professional, always checking to make sure things that we wanted moved,set up were done as we wanted.

This is the third time I've used Royal Hawaiian Movers. Once when arriving from the mainland, then an internal move on the Big Island, then my latest move from the Big Island to Oahu. Each time, the crews and staff couldn't have been more helpful, courteous, professional - you name it, they excelled at it! Only a couple objects broke during my mainland to Hawaii move, and in the subsequent moves around the islands, I've only had one other item get damaged - an insignificant lamp shade, so my guess is that the other damaged was incurred by the mainland company that moved me out of my California house. Regardless, I highly recommend them. and one more thing - this last move I had Royal Hawaiian do almost all the packing, so that's a service I can also highly recommend you have them do for you. We hired a mainland company to pack some family belonging for us. They did so, with the result being a very solid, large 650 pound wooden crate. They contacted 3 moving services they use for us for prices, they all came in over $3000.00. Royal Hawaiian/DeWitt came in under $2000.00 and were by far the easiest and best to deal with. Communications were excellent, their representative Megan wanted us to be sure we understood everything before we signed, including pricing of all the various options (ie. picking up at dock ourselves vs. having delivered, insurance options, etc.)Each phone call was followed up with an email to confirm everything we discussed. The crate was delivered on time, we received a call from Megan letting us know the barge had docked and our crate would be available to Royal Hawaiian to pick up and bring to us in 3 days time. We set up a delivery time and the truck came as scheduled with our crate in perfect condition. The 3 gentlemen in the truck unloaded the crate for us and took it apart for us in our driveway (even being sure to find each and every screw they took out so we didn't get a flat tire later....), then carried the contents into the garage for us. I must say I'd read alot of reviews and horror stories about peoples moving experiences and was really nervous, but I was so pleased with Royal Hawaiian/DeWitt. One hint, if you are moving some items from the mainland check first with Royal Hawaiian, as they have a flat rate for up to a certain size/weight. If I had checked with them first I would have had a few more items put into the crate for the same price, but I didn't do my homework before having the company who did the crating do their side of the work. Every interaction with each Royal Hawaiian employee was professional, courteous and pleasant, their work was great.

It went very, very well! They performed according to their commitments and not one single item was broken or lost.

I moved my family from New York City to Honolulu in September. We decided to go with Royal Hawaiian Movers because of their outstanding attentiveness through their Mainland company, Dewitt. But in the end, Royal Hawaiian was a Royal Dissapointment. (Skip to my last three paragraphs for my review of Royal Hawaiian themselves). It was Dewitt movers that scheduled a surveyor, and that contracted the packers in New York. My contact person at Dewitt was extremely knowledgable, courteous, and answered all my questions. The surveyor that came to our house was also very courteous, professional, and answered many of our questions. So far, we were extremely impressed with the contracted personnel and companies that Royal Hawaiian uses to plan mainland to Hawaii moves. William B. Meyer was the company which was contracted to pack us up. They were excellent! The packing team were so nice, extremely professional, friendly, fast, effecient, and overall high quality. It was the best packing team we ever had. Our hopes were really high that the rest of our experience would be that good. Our things arrived quickly in Hawaii, in about 3 weeks or so, and that was another huge plus! We were so happy with our experience so far. And then, things took a turn when the Royal Hawaiian team of unpackers did their job moving us into our new house. They were courteous and introduced themselves when they arrived. But, I was there alone with our baby, without my partner who was working. The unpacking team made themselves too comfortable in my new home, sitting around. One of them took frequent breaks and parked one of our office chairs in our garage and sat on it, lounging and spinning around while the younger one did all the heavy lifting. The young guy was clearly affected that the other guy was sitting around, but he didn't say anything, I am guessing due to lack of authority. The guy who sat around also took it upon himself to open our freezer and scoop ice from our ice machine with the cup he was drinking out of. Not only is that tacky , but also unsanitary! Also, they did not finish putting together one of our shelves. And they didn't complete some of the bookcases, nor did they ask where they would go in the office, so we have to move the cases ourselves. They left one of my small paintings on the ground of the garage, like it was trash or something! Also, they put kitchen boxes in the living room, and when my partner asked if they could unwrap the kitchenware and put it on the counters, they dragged their feet, though they did unpack it. However, when my partner reminded them about the kitchen boxes in the livingroom, they brought the kitchen box into the kitchen but then didn't unpack it. After having traveled so far, and paying such a high amount, we would have preferred to have most if not all of our things unwrapped so that boxes could be taken away the same day. It was our understanding that unwrapping items would be part of the package. However, the team of unpackers from Royal Hawaiian seemed more eager to end their day. In the end, it is a mixed bag. The actual workers from Royal Hawaiian were pretty disappointing. All this, and we had to pay an extra almost $400 after paying $16,000 already, for a shuttle because they couldn't get the container near enough to our house. But, the companies they contracted with on the mainland, including Dewitt were outstanding. I would give the mainland companies an A+, hands down, but unfortunately Royal Hawaiian gets a D, due to the way the unpackers handled themselves when we moved in.

Dewitt, the parent company explained the steps from the quote to the final unpacking thoroughly, and provided a hard copy of it in detail. All questions were answered immediately by phone or email and a contact person was always available to respond. Even the time frame given was accurate which is a very different from our previous move with another company. From quote to pack up to overland hauling and delivery to the dock, everything went very smoothly. When we arrive on Oahu on Sunday, our shipment will be delivered that Tuesday. I did not think they could do it, but they did

It was a very pleasant, professional service/company. I would highly recommend. From door to door, no worries, all the packing was done for me, boxes provided. Excellent service!

Move went well. Only annoyance was that the team doing the packing called us (in Hawaii) to tell us they were close to arriving (in Texas) so the phone call came at about 3AM. Weight was more than expected so the do/don't is do careful culling before shipping things that end up being donated to Salvation Army at the destination instead of the origin. Adds unnecessary cost, but is not a problem with the moving company.

From beginning to end, everyone involved was friendly, professional, and efficient. I received my vehicle and household goods in excellent condition, the only casualties were 2 glasses. My only suggestion for improvement would for the mainland dispatch crew to be a bit more proactive in setting expectations. That said, every call or email I sent was responded to quickly and the information I received about timelines was accurate. I used Royal Hawaiian Movers 10 years ago when I moved from Honolulu to Kirkland, and had a great experience as well.

Overall it was a smooth experience. From the first phone call, they were very helpful and got back to me right away. They were punctual and careful with my goods.

The company contracted on the North American side was highly professional and finished the job efficiently and quickly. The Royal Hawaiian movers on the Big Island were far less professional, but I'd rather not go into the details why. They delivered everything and didn't break anything, so the minimum service was met. For various reasons, we did not require an unpack on the Hawaii side despite contracting for it, but were never offered a partial refund. While the prices are obscene, Royal Hawaiian is very competitive for the services they offer, so I'll give them that. I would use them again, grudgingly. There are many shysters out there performing this service and Royal Hawaiian is NOT one of them.

(Time & Date) The Royal Hawaiian Movers - our LOCAL HAWAII BOYS, Mike from Waianae, Junior from Kalihi and Romeo from Waipahu were -- Fast Quick & Smiling .. We like that ... Just like what we have requested - they deliver - unpacked and it was smooth - NO MESS ...

They were very helpful through the whole process, keeping me informed and giving me time estimates, etc. As soon as my shipment arrived from the mainland to Honolulu they let me know, and two days later it was at my house as planned, then brought everything inside and opened the boxes right then and there.
