We had requested a proposal from them based on the reviews given by other Angie's List users. Compared to others that quoted us, they were average in pricing but we were also looking for quality as well. As other have testified, they do very good work. We even had them add texture to the master bathtub to avoid slipping. Previously we had used a suction rubber mat which we found out is a big no-no as that did peel off the coating from a previous re-glaze. I would definitely recommend the texture for slippage even though that does take up another day. Well worth the safety feature of having a non-skid surface inside the tub. Apparently they split Oahu into two sections with Allen handling the West-side portion of Oahu. He showed up on time, did his job, then the next day we did the other tub. He did have to come back to add the non-skid surface but it was worth it. The difference after was amazing with no more peeling. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone considering the resurfacing of their tub. Their pricing is reasonable and fair with no hidden extras.

First of all, I called and spoke to Jeff on several occasions, because I live in CA, and the studio we were remodeling is on Oahu. Jeff was very responsive with his phone calls and emails to me. I asked a lot of questions! I was concerned because the tub and the shower door looked really bad. Jeff was unable to do the job, so Allen came instead. The tub looks like new!!! They removed and disposed of the shower door. I was happy that I didn't have to replace the tub after all.

They brought lots of equipment and were very professional. They vented the air out a window which helped the air quality in the apartment. The entire process lasted 2 days. I was provided with a list of DOs and DON'Ts for follow up care for the shower. The workers were very polite and made the repairs less stressful for me and my cats!

The contractor was very down to earth and personable; easy to talk with and schedule a time. To do the work it does take up a bit of space as they do need to run a vent while painting and have other equipment outside of the bathroom. They do take the time to cover other surfaces to prevent overspray. Even with the vent there is still very strong odors during the process so be aware of that. At the end, I believe one of the helpers touched the wet paint as there was a palm print on the tub that definitely was not mine. Luckily the paint was still a little soft and I was somehow able to buff it out, making it less noticeable. I was going to complain but I am in a rush to sell the place. Other than that poor fact, the tub did turn out very nice and they also left the tube of caulk so I can caulk it myself after the paint dries. I like to do things myself when I can so I didn't mind that. I also got to learn a few things in talking to them so in all it made up for the palm print.

Chose solely because of Angie's List Reviews & was not disappointed. Left my house in perfect condition, which was one of my main concerns!

Alan and Jeff were great. I called Jeff about getting a quote and Alan came out that same day. Alan worked with my schedule in order to get the estimate done. I was quoted $650 and set an appointment date. On the day of our appointment, Alan and his co-worker showed up on time and were both very respectful and courteous. About 5-6 hours later the job was complete. Alan made sure that everything was cleaned up, he explained in detail how long until the tubs could be used. The estimate price was exactly what we paid. The tubs look brand new. I would hire them again and I would definitely recommend them to a friend or neighbor. Thanks.

After researching refinishing companies on the internet and reviewing Angie's List decided Oahu Tub Experts seemed like the best company for the job; contacted them by phone and Jeff gave us an estimate which was acceptable and we were able to schedule the work shortly thereafter. The company website includes what the homeowner needs to do ahead of time to prepare the work area (simple things) which was great info to have; allowed us to be ready to go when they showed up. Check the FAQ section. OahuTub was very professional and took the time to explain what would be done and how to care for the surface after the job was done. They did a great job of prep; covering/protecting areas outside of the tub from overspray etc; once the job was done they left the area clean and back to what it was when they showed up. We also needed to find a tubmat without suction cups since the suction cup type will damage the new surface and Jeff gave us info on where to purchase that type of mat. We noticed one spot behind the soap dish got missed in the first spray (hard to get nook when using big sprayer) and Jeff was very responsive in coming back to touch up that area. Overall this was very well done job for a good price. .

The contractor came on time to give us a quote and he also sent the quote when he said he would. We delayed the job and he was willing to work with us. We called him back a month later to re-schedule. On the work day he showed up on time and started the job. he took the time to protect all the areas that needed to be protected. When he completed the job he cleaned up the entire work area and the old tiles and tub surfaces looked like new. The bathrooms looked a whole lot better and a lot cheaper than changing out this 45 year old baths. It showed very well for selling the unit and we no longer had an outdated bathrooms. The unit sold within one week after he refinished the baths. I would highly recommend this company if you are thinking of re-surfacing your tub or shower and do not want to replace everything.

Outstanding quality and service. This is the second tub we've had done with this company. We got a $50 discount since we were repeat customers. In addition the technician repaired at no cost some scratches we made in the older tub that he had resurfaced a few years earlier.

Technician arrived at our home at the predesignated time & promptly began the bathtub refinishing work. He cordially explained the work he was going to do. At the completion of the job, he gave me the opportunity to inspect the finished work and answered all the questions & concerns I had regarding when I can start using the bathtub & the proper way to care for the refinished bathtub.

Jeff came out to do an estimate for my bathtub refinishing and when I wanted to schedule, he was able to do it a few days later. The job took about 5 and 1/2 hours. There are little tiny particles and craters (looks like little bubbles have popped and left marks) but they say it's normal and should even out as time goes on. We'll see...Also, he's not the most punctual, so be prepared. I would use him again though because he's very professional and did a great job overall. The price is also a plus.

Jeff hit heavy traffic and was 20 minutes late, but hey.....stuff happens. Jeff is very professional and friendly. I would not hesitate to have him back to do work for me in the future.

My parents recently moved into an assisted living facility. Their new apartment was in pretty good condition except for the bathtub. Apparently the previous owner had cleaned the tub religiously with comet, which I now know is not really necessary for bathtubs, and is actually bad since over time, it wears down the enamel. With no enamel, it actually stains easier, and you end up using even more comet. Note to self: stay away from abrasive cleaners. Anyway, I had their tub refinished by this company, and am very happy. I had two other quotes. One higher, one lower. After researching "Bathtub Refinishing" on the internet, I decided to NOT go with the lower quote because he hadn't been in business very long and from what I read, if they skip steps or are lazy in the preparation, it can be a whole lot of trouble. The other guy probably would have been fine. He was just "too local" for me and didn't seem as professional. Final result was stunning. Two months later, there are no problems. I've confiscated all my mom's abrasive cleaners so it stays looking this way.

uEarlier this year, I moved into a new apartment at Honolulu Park Place. The building is great, but my apartment is somewhat dated. The bathroom was particularly old with a worn tub, and light yellow tiles. The tub's finish was nearly completely gone. I had another company called EcoTubSolutions "restore" the tub. It looked great for a while, but after about 4 months, the finish was right back to how it looked previously, albeit the tub was still cleaner. I got a quote on getting the tub replaced and it came out to $3750. It was a lot because the tub is really built in, with tile on all 4 sides. I called Oahu Tub, and they came out and told me that with the so called "no spray" method that they and other companies use, if your tub is worn, you must keep on applying a special sealant to keep the tub looking new. If I had known this, I would have just gone with a proper refinishing right from the start. They quoted me a price of $360. Unfortunately I had to wait a week before they could come because they were booked solid. But I'm glad I waited. I went with their 2-hour cure coating in bright-white color. I also had them refinish those ugly yellow titles. Now, everything is nice and white, and the titles are much easier to clean now. The process wasn't too bad. They were very professional and covered everything up. It took about 4 and a half hours from start to finish - slightly longer than they estimated, but I'd rather they do it right than cut corners. The technician they sent out was very well spoken and friendly compared with the other contractors I had coming in here recently. He explained all the options in detail: the same no-spray method I had already gotten (he recommended it for tubs that aren't that worn); the 2 hour cure; and a water-based coating option that supposedly has no smell (hard to believe), but takes about 24 hours to cure. He was very thorough on explaining the care instructions. I'm writing this review about 3 months later and everything is still great. Can't beat the price - 10% of replacement!
