Response from Mr Fixit Handyman Services
Dear Ms. [Member Name Removed], I believe you are mistaken. I have no record of supplying a quote to you. When checking your address, I have no record nor any recollection of giving a quote or estimate for your address, street, or name. None of my customers have discussed a "budget" with me in the recent past, so your claims sound very mysterious to me. Perhaps you can show me the quote you speak of. All my quotes and estimates are kept on computer and numbered with the clients name and address for easy identification. I could be mistaken as well, however, if memory, schedule, calendar, and notes serve me correctly, I should have some information that shows we had even spoken in the past, which I do not. Irregardless, if I had quoted you prices which were not within your budget, I am sorry. Not having any information on your project or specific requests, I cannot imagine what conversation or discussion may have taken place in regards to your proposed job. If in fact I did provide you with a free estimate, than I stand by my estimate or proposal given the information we may or may not have shared was accurate. For example, a client, upon first meeting, may ask for an estimate based on what they actually want. Once I share the cost for completing (let's say a remodel), and they find that reality is too expensive. The client then opts for plan B, which may be purchasing cheaper products. At this point, you're not comparing apples to apples. My estimates are based on your information always. If you want home depot items installed, then you purchase the items and I simply charge for installing them. It's as simple as that. Many times such as in this example, Plan A was discussed and quoted, but the client goes to Plan B or C as an alternative. All of my customers will tell you that my specialty is saving them money on their projects. I always advise them on the least expensive way to arrive at a finished product they will be happy with. The customer can then determine if they want to spend more money on a higher priced or quality product. That is their choice. I can share a thousand stories and examples with your, but at the end of the day, if I gave you a free estimate either by inspection or telephone, what did it cost you? I would have had to alter my schedule to make time for you and push another client aside to provide you with free professional advice, ideas and solutions. You are welcome.
