After battling with ants for months, I gave up trying to defeat them by myself. Since the holidays were approaching and guests were soon to arrive, I wanted to hire an exterminator. I asked around the office but no one could give me a recommendation. That's when I remembered Angie's List. I surveyed their list of pest control businesses and called a few, but I was impressed that Kilauea Pest Control had such a high rating on value and price. The person answering the phone was very helpful and explained the different prices and packages. I decided to go with the maintenance program (I have to be as persistent as these ants). The exterminator was friendly, thorough, and punctual. I told every Kilauea employee that I had chosen their business because of Angie's List. It's been about a month now and NO ANTS! I am looking forward to living in an ant-free home and having a long-term relationship with Kilauea. Thank you, Angie's List!

Inspector looked at area in question and determined that there we no termites. He could have told me there were termites and charge me for an unneeded treatment.

I had been having an ant problem inside my home since its purchase 7 months earlier. I was at the end of my rope since no matter how spotless the house ants were always there and they found their way into so many and quot;air-tightand quot; containers. I went onto the company web site and left a message with my name and phone number. I was called within the hour. I told the gentleman my problem and he immediately scheduled a convenient appointment for someone to assess the ant situation. When the technician Chris arrived at my home he was on time and very knowledgeable about the various ant species. He listened closely while I described the situation and how I was worried that the chemicals may affect my cats. He explained about the products Kilauea Pest Control uses both inside and outside the house and that they would be safe around the animals as long as precautions were followed. He sat down with me and explained the various pricing plans and options available to me. I elected to sign up for an entire year as this was the most cost effective option and I hate bugs of any kind in my house. Chris sprayed the inside and outside of my house and explained how it would take a while for all of the ants to die. Within a few hours I noticed a huge reduction in the number of ants. The ants gradually got less and less over the next two weeks and finally were fully gone. Chris returned as contracted every other month for outdoor treatments of my home to prevent the ants' return. All was well until two weeks ago when once again I saw ants on my kitchen counter. I called Kilauea Pest Control and spoke with their operator who assured me Chris would get in touch with me to schedule an additional treatment. (There are no additional charges for these.) Chris arrived, again on time, and I updated him on the ant and quot;crisisand quot; and he asked me to describe where and when I saw the ants. After he assessed the situation he told me he had a new bait that would be effective and safe for indoor use. He laid the bait out and the ants immediately went for it. It took a couple of days, but now I am once again ant free. I am secure in the knowledge that I have professionals on the case and if the ants should come back they will be dealt with post haste. I am very happy with this company's quick response, professionalism, price and effectiveness.

I let them do their job and they did it excellently. There is no more to say except, "See you in a couple of months!" I recommend the annual contract for extra savings. Ask about it when you contact them.
