Drain Daddy

I like the service well enough to contiue calling them when I need plumbing work done.

Came out the day I called. He got the drain cleared and said he would warranty his work, unlike several other plumbers I have called/ worked with.

We called on a Saturday morning. Daniel was on another job but said he'd call us back for our info. He did, and he agreed to come out that afternoon. We'd had a problem a few years before, so we warned him that he would need a long cable/snake, and he brought one. He cleared the drain and it works fine. He did not leave a mess. Well done. He also found that our faucet sprayer was leaking, and he taped it for us. He's a really pleasant guy, too.

Both toilets and bathtubs backed up and filled with foul water. Drain Daddy answered my call right away and was flexible on working with my schedule to get the job done in a cheerful and professional manner. (I know who to call next time).

Daniel was terrific! He kept working on the problem even though I know it took much longer than what he expected. He didn't give up and finally succeeded in clearing the drain.

Price was reasonable but you have to keep an eye on him because he tries to cut corners.

Great service from Daniel (Don's son). Called him late afternoon after discovering the broken handle and water leaking, and he came to the house at the end of a long day and was very professional and efficient in getting the job done. The charge was fair for the quality workmanship and excellent service provided. Will definitely call them again for plumbing repair. An A+ experience!

He got the faucets replaced, but couldn't replace the sink without risk of damaging the counter. He charged for the faucet replacement only.

Contacted Drain Daddy on the afternoon of 27 May and he was able to come over that evening. He was a little late because of another commitment but he called and kept us updated of his situation, When I described our problem, he quickly got to work in unclogging the pipe. He also noticed that the pipes under the kitchen sink were rusted and offered to replace them for a reasonable price ($40). After completing his work, he tested the system and we agreed that it was working as it was before. Drain Daddy offered to give the pipe another run through just to make sure but we told him that it wasn't necessary. He gave us a 6 month warranty and told us to call him if anything went wrong with his work. Unfortunately, a couple of days later, the kitchen sink backed up again and we called Drain Daddy and notified him of the situation. He came over in a couple of hours and cleaned the pipes again, at no charge (he didn't even take a tip that we offered). At this time, everything is draining properly.

Drain Daddy showed up promptly and on time. The water was draining slowly in my bathtub, and the serviceman had to snake the drain in order to clean it out. He also informed me that my stopper wasn't functioning properly. The opening wasn't sealed perfectly, so he also caulked it for me. My bathtub is draining nicely now. However, he did not quote me on the right price. He overcharged me and did not provide a senior discount. After I told him how much money I had, he finally accepted it.

Water heater broke. Gave Don a call. he talked me over the phone to stop the leak but be able to take a hot shower. Helped select the right heater for our use, picked it up, brought it over, installed, and then took the old one away. Fast and efficient.

The tech was running a little behind due to another job, but called and let us know. We liked that the company was responsive when we called. They were more than happy to come out same day, unlike another company we called. We were a bit surprised when the tech showed up and said it here was a $150.00 charge right off the bat. I should have asked about a service call fee like I did for an estimate cost. Other than that, we really enjoyed the service as the leak was repaired vary quickly and the faucet works great.

Our main line was backing up into the shower and overflowing so I called multiple drain companies to come and snake my drain. Of the 4 companies that I called, only Drain Daddy answered their phone! Dennis was so friendly and said that he had a couple of jobs to do (Salt Lake and Mililani), but he would try and come out later. It was already 3 p.m. when I called, but true to his word, Dennis made it to our house at about 6 p.m. He set up quickly and snaked our main line until it was running clear and smooth. He was friendly and professional and I really appreciated his prompt response!

I had a leak in the downstairs garage and saw, after digging out the drywall, that it was coming from the upstairs toilet. I called several plumbers not expecting a call back right away, especially as I live in the "country" and not in town. But Daniel called right back and said it was probably the wax ring seal. We set up a time the next day, as he was busy that day, but later called back and said he could come early evening. He showed up on time and pulled the toilet. Sure enough it was the wax ring, which he replaced. I got a 20 year old Kohler Rialto Low Boy, which looks nice but is a plumber's pain in the butt, because of its design, so the reset took some skill and several tries. The bolts off the floor are short, out of sight line, and I got thick tile flooring --so dropping the toilet without messing up the wax was a challenge. Then, I asked him if he could replace the fill valve/lift arm as I had the parts (needed Kohler only specialty parts which I had gotten earlier) and he said he could do it even if it was getting late. Again, because of the low boy design and age of the toilet, it was not a simple thing to put in the fill valve because the bowl fill tube replacement part didn't match the toilet receptacle. I thought I'd have to give up on the Rialto, but Daniel figured out a way to connect it. He was real careful in securing the water supply line to the bottom of the fill valve, so as not to overtighten and strip the plastic nut. He also trimmed the excess flapper chain, which was getting tangled up when flushing. Professional, conscientious, friendly, and more than fair in pricing -- $190, including charge for driving out to the country. Will definitely call on him again when I need plumbing services.

We had previously used Dan's Handman Plumbing but he is moving to the mainland. Dan referred us to Drain Daddy. We purchased the new 1/2 HP Insinkerator on sale. We called Drain Daddy to do the install. Daniel arrived promptly, was professionally dressed, and polite. He worked efficiently and with obvious knowledge of what he was doing. He tested the new garbage disposal unit and cleaned up after himself. He double checked there were no leaks. He was pleasant to chat with. He also took the old unit away with him. If we have plumbing needs in the future we will call Daniel at Drain Daddy, 808-384-7777.

Dan was prompt and very thorough. He made sure that the problem was fixed completely before he left and made sure we had his contact info should we need to call. He came late in the evening, so we appreciate his flexibility.

Dan, the plumber, explained that the bolts were too short and the seal needed to be doubled due to the foreign made toilet.

The night of the tsunami alert, we had family over and the drains all went haywire! Our toilets and showers plugged up and there was water running down the hallway. Gross! Needless to say, early the next morning I checked Angie's List and went to work calling someone to come and help us. It was Sunday and the day following the tsunami so I went through 4 different people before I called Drain Daddy. Daniel answered and immediately said he could come over in a few hours. Right on time, he called saying he was on his way and showed up! He and his assistant immediately got to work assessing the problem and proceeded to snake the main drain. He got the drain cleared in less than half an hour and we were ecstatic! He had us flush the toilets and run the water for almost 15 minutes to make sure that everything was working well. He is prompt and always communicative with me. He let me know what was going on and made sure he gave a price quote up front before I agreed to it. I will use him again in the future.

They ran a snake and camera through the pipe to find out what was wrong. They advised me to call the city. They were very helpful.

With cost in mind, we shopped over a period of time and watched prices on toilets. We chose American Standard ADA approved units after reviewing Consumer Reports on various brands. We purchased the toilets and had them delivered (they are heavy). We read reviews on Angies List and chose Don. When he arrived with his helper (Pete) we had the toilets unboxed and ready to go. Installation took a total of 90 minutes for both toilets. Don is pleasant, knowledgeable, tidy and we could not be more pleased. He took the old toilets with him for disposal. Installation cost was $125 each. I took photos of Don at work but this site does not appear to have that feature. :o( Oh well.

Called Don, interrupted him at a party. He called back the next day, we set an appointment for the next day. He needed help carrying the toilets but other than that was very good. We discussed the job, Don provided some good background information on how various toilets rate for efficiency and reliability.
