+ -1 moreThe ignition system was antique, so they installed a modern system, and the engine now starts on the first pull. Later I took a weedwhacker in that had a gas leak, and they fixed it overnight, with new plastic tubing, and charged me for little more than the parts. My riding mower is acting up, and as soon as the snow clears it is going to them!
Description of Work: I took them a gasoline powered edger that was nearly 45 years old, and hadn't run in nearly 30 years, and they had it running in a few minutes!

+ -1 moreHe was really good. It was a really good price and a really smart guy. He works out of his house. The guy is brilliant, he does it for a living and that's all he does. He does a lot of commercials too. It was really competitive and I couldn't find anybody that could tune up my lawn mower for 35$. He also did a blower tune for 25$. I think he only takes cash but I could be wrong. He was on time.

+ -1 moreReels Lawn Mower Repair and Service (Richard Shores at 770.587.3919 ) does a quick and very reasonable service on lawn equipment. I used him to fix my Toro lawn mower which spewed white smoke and sputtered for a couple of seconds after pulling the cord to start the motor. Could never get the mower to run more than 2 seconds. Richard Shores initially diagnosed a problem with carburetor and quoted $35 to repair it. After he got into the repair, he said the problem wasn't as bad as he thought and charged only $20 for the work he did on the carburetor. He picked up and delivered my lawn mower for a nominal fee. To sharpen the blade while he was fixing the carburetor, it cost $5. The price for this posting includes the pickup and delivery. Took him only 2 days to turn around the repair. What more can you ask when you get good, honest service?!

As you can see from by statements about service performed, I was impressed with the service perform, their knowledge of the brand of mower being serviced, and their recommendations for repair or replacement. They also were very prompt in completing the service. Everything you were expect and like about getting the quality of service you would like and the cost of repairs was reasonable.
Description of Work: Annual inspection and service of a 21 " self-propelled Snapper lawn mower that had not been serviced by a shop for many years. The mover was purchased new in 1994, and has been used every season since then. I asked whether I should replace it or repair/service it, because it was starting hard and using some oil. They inspected the mower and recommended an annual service. This included a carb adjustment, repacement of the spark plug and air cleaner, lubrication of all 4 wheels for easier adjustements of mover height, repair of a guard on the rear of the mower, sharpening of a mulching blade, and then replacement of the mulching blade with a regular blade. The mower starts with one pull of the recoil starter. They also made recommendations regarding use of gas grades to insure better starting. Altogehter, I was very impressed with the quality of service and the cost of repair. If the mower runs well during the mowing season, then I will definietly return to them for additional service on this mower or for service on other lawn and garden equipment.

+ -1 moreOver the years I have taken my mower to three other places in the area, but I have never been thrilled with the results. After reading reviews on Angie's List, thought I'd give Reels a try. Richard is a very nice man. He seems very down-to-earth and honest. He repaired my mower in less time than expected and charged me a very reasonable price. I have mowed the lawn 3 times since the repair and it is still holding up fine. I am very satisfied. I plan to visit Reels soon to have additional equipment repaired. UPDATE: After having my push mower repaired, I recently had Reels pick up my inoperable riding mower. After Reels finished working on it, you'd never know the thing had been sitting in my back yard collecting leaves. As before, the experience was great and I was happy with the price. I've recommended them to two friends since my last review. Both have been very happy with the results.

Even though Reels Lawn Mower was also very busy, they agreed to let me drop off the mower. Once they looked at it and saw the problem was a quick fix, the problem was fixed on the spot. It took less than 5 min and there was no charge. I plan to return for a full tuneup. I would highly recommend them.

We'd already spent quite a bit, not to mention other shops keeping the mower for weeks and the problem with a belt wasn't fixed. One trip to Reels and the problem was fixed, the mower was repaired, the service guaranteed and the mower delivered to our house in two days. I am thrilled with the service!!

+ -1 moreAfter nine years of non-use it was no surprise my lawnmower would not start. After adding gas to it, the gas immediately leaked out on to the driveway. I assumed a cracked fuel line, but was told by Richard it was the carburetor, which he cleaned and repaired. He charged $20 to pick up and return the lawnmower and $40 to fix it for a total of $60. Pick up and delivery were on time and my lawnmower now runs like new! Richard also gave me good advice for avoiding similar problems in the future and also told me which small-engine brands are the most reliable. I will absolutely use him again in the future and highly recommend him.
Description of Work: My Honda push mower wouldn't start and leaked gas after nine years of non-use. Richard picked up the lawnmower from my house, diagnosed the problem as the carburetor and repaired it.

+ 0 moreCompletely satisfied with the work done. The service was performed in a timely fashion, for a reasonable cost, with great quality. Richard was very easy to deal with and flexible about my pick-up time. When I used the saw the next day it started up easily and cut without any problems.
Description of Work: Chainsaw was almost impossible to start. Required starting fluid to get started and then it would not continue to run under load. Richard did a full examination of the fuel supply system and replaced the carburetor diaphragm. He also took care of sharpening the chain and did an extended operations test to ensure that the saw was running and cutting fine.
