I found Kevin on Angie's List. I called him, and he came over right away to give an estimate. We explained to him what we needed, and he understood exactly what we wanted. He gave us a verbal quote and send an email quote later in the day. He said that he could do the work within 10 days. He called within that time frame and began the work the next day. He finished the job is a day and a half. The steps look exactly as we wanted them to, and they have a very professional look. Kevin was very courteous and professional at all times. he did a great job of cleaning up the work area. If I every need stone or brick work done again, I will surely call Kevin first.

Kevin was extremely professional and accommodating. When we had trouble scheduling an initial visit for a review of the work and providing an estimate, Kevin stopped by and looked at the job. We then communicated by phone and picture, making sure we were talking about the same project. I had several loose stones on the steps leading up to my front porch. There were several stones around the porch that had also worked their way loose. Kevin found all of the loose stones I had found (and some I hadn't). He proposed removing all of the stones, clearing out the mortar bed, and grinding away all loose grout on the stone work. We were able to find a date that I was able to be at my home for (and where the weather cooperated). Kevin arrived right at 9:00 (the agreed upon time). He removed all the stones, re-set the steps, re-set the stones, and then grouted around all of the stones. He suggested an annual application of Concrete Sealer (something I hadn't known about) to help prevent water from working its way down into the grout and freezing, leading to cracking of the mortar. Kevin was extremely professional and personable. He finished the job in about 3 1/2 hours, and the results are great. I will definitely use Kevin again if I have any other type of stone or masonry work to be done.

Kevin and his crew were great! They were on time, efficient, and left everything clean as can be. Kevin worked with me on a revised plan, providing a second estimate and great suggestions. I'm so pleased with the finished product. I would definitely recommend them for any masonry work and plan to use them in the future.

Although it took a while to get the project started, once started they did a great job. Kevin and his crew were very professional.

Kevin arrived for his estimate review on time. The work ended up being more than he expected once the masonry was removed. They worked very hard to find the stone to match, making several trips to ensure it was right. Once the stone was found, they went right to work and did a first rate job of only removing what they needed and repairing what was necessary, keeping costs to a minimum. They worked long, hard hours every day they were here, and in spite of other commitments someone was always here working to be certain that our home was not exposed to the elements any longer than necessary. Both Kevin and his crews were friendly and professional in every way and cleaned up well following the work. His pricing was fair and reasonable. I would have no second thoughts about using Mr. Murphy's services again, should it ever be necessary. Kevin was able to give me an approximation estimate the day I called him on the phone. We walked through the details and measurements of the project. Three days later, he came out to look at the area and give a more exact estimate. However, the estimate price did not change from the phone conversation. He was very professional, easy to talk to, knowledgeable, and detail oriented. I felt like he was concerned about my project and did not have 50 other things on his mind. He went over every detail of the project and was willing to do additional tasks regarding the patio without adding more fees. The day of the project Kevin and his team arrived on time and got to work immediately. They did exactly what I asked them to and made sure I was aware of what was going on every step of the way. Kevin completed each task to the my "type A personality" satisfaction. Throughout the day, everyone was courteous and efficient. Kevin and his team of 3 were on their feet for 7 hours straight. Not once did they take a break or even stop for lunch. They continued the project the entire 7 hours. Some of the tasks they completed were removing sod, rock, and dirt, drilling rebar every 2 feet into the original foundation and patio, placing mesh throughout the concrete for better support, framing out an awkward shape for the addition, and fixing drainage issues. It was unbelievable to see how fast and efficiently they removed the sod. The team cut each piece of sod into a manageable piece so we were able to use the sod in other areas. Kevin manually troweled the concrete 5 times until it matched the original concrete patio. The entire day Kevin's goal was to make sure the details were all taken care of just like it was his own patio. They went above an beyond for each and every concern I had regarding this project. Upon completion of the project, the job site was clear of debris. They did not disturb any of my pristine landscaped yard or decor around the site. The yard looked spotless. I would VERY HIGHLY recommend Kevin and his team to fulfill any concrete or masonry project need. **A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Kevin and his team for great quality work and professional that is hard to find in today's work force.**

All the concrete was pulled out. The ground leveled and forms were built. They filled in with broken concrete, shored it up with rebar and then poured concrete. They did an excellent job. I would highly recommend this company.

Kevin first tore out and replaced our front steps which had serious settlement issues. He did his best to match our 30 year old brick. It's not a perfect match but not bad. A month or so later he replaced our driveway and added an additional parking pad. Apparently concrete was much cheaper 30 years ago since the pad nearest the garage was nearly a foot thick. His team had a heck of a time getting the concrete out of there. All the work looks good. Our only complaint is the adjacent bushes took a beating. I know they had to get around the buses but they took a beating and good size branches removed. With all the rain, the driveway job was delayed several weeks but we were in no hurry and Kevin kept in contact with us. They worked hard and finished the job promptly. I'd use Kevin again.

Kevin is a personable and professional.. He was prompt to respond to our communication. The front brick steps were done to my husband's specifications. The 60 foot brick wall that Kevin re-pointed looks like a checkered board square mess! The white mortar that he put in doesn't even come close to the existing mortar (yes, 14 year old mortar). I just got off the phone with Kevin and he said perhaps he should have left it alone or used a different color grout. He also said said the mortar would never look like the old mortar. I understand that, but his choice of mortar color was a sure miss. He offered to come out and put muriatic acid on the new mortar, but he told me it would not help. I suggested power washing, he agreed. We will power wash it later on this spring with hopes that the mortar will blend in .

Overall the project went really smooth and quickly. Kevin was great to work with, very friendly and kept me informed on the start date and progress throughout the project. He was very easy to get in touch with if any questions came up. They started right after the last snow - there was still ice in my driveway the morning they arrived to rip out the old wood and prepare for the footings. From all the wet weather things were very messy but it all went into a dumpster that was delivered the same morning. They had everything ready for the cement truck the next morning to pour the footings. After that the project moved along quickly, the crew of five arrived early and worked until dark most days - all very hard workers. Eliseo, his foreman, also did a great job in keeping me informed of their schedule and discussed how parts of the construction would be done. I was amazed at how much material went into the project. Kevin delivered a palette of stone but the inside pieces were all small so his foreman brought some larger ones the next day, and then Kevin got an additional half palette so there was more than enough selection. It was this kind of attention to detail that I noticed throughout the project that really makes a difference. They did a great job with the clean up which really went on all during the project so at the end things were in good shape. The extra soil was placed where I requested to help fill a low spot in another area of my yard which was an unexpected bonus that was done without a question. They even power washed the driveway removing the last of the wet clay as the final touch. As you can see from the pictures, I still have the interior wood walls that will need to be replaced next and will be giving Kevin a call for sure to do the work. Looking at it now, it looks like it's always been there and fits seamlessly into the original work on the house, only better.

Kevin Murphy was a pleasure to work with. His crew was awesome - very hard-working and professional. The man who did the stone work was an artist. I love the finished product and would use them again in a heartbeat. The driveway was extended with concrete to accommodate my son's car. Stones along the sides help with puddling water when it rains. The sidewalk to the deck looks great and I wish we'd done it 15 years ago! The same stonework was done by the side stairs where there used to be a plant bed.

Kevin and his crew are true professionals and skilled stone masons. His estimate was fair and reasonable for the job and on par with a few other contractors. I selected Kevin because of all the good reviews on Angie's list and I was not disappointed. He and his crew arrived as promised and wasted no time. The project was completed in the time promised and the results were even better than I had hoped. All the stone they added complemented and matched the existing stone work they repaired. I wold recommend them to anyone and would use them again, though I don't see any chance that the work they did will need any repair in my lifetime.

I asked two contractors to bid on repairing a small amount of storm damage in the backyard and to fix our sunken front porch. The first contractor did not bid on the front work because he wasn't sure how to fix it. He did provide a verbal estimate for the backyard work. Kevin, in contrast, knew exactly how to repair the sunken porch and to keep it from settling in the future by attaching rebar to the foundation. He also included the rear yard work in the package. After consultation with my bride, we decided to have the walkway also replaced so it would look seamless. The result is beautiful. Kevin was always here on time each morning, and when one of his subs quit, Kevin, took over doing the work himself. Kevin was professional and courteous in all of our dealings with him and fulfilled every promise he made. The project was completed on time and on budget.

The project took a little over a week. The first day they took out the old driveway and front walk. The next couple of days they brought in dirt and rock to build the foundation. My old driveway had sunk several feet. They also had to buld a wall that abutted my neighbor's driveway. Kevin was very considerate of their concerns and they were very happy with the way the wall looked when finished.

He’s been in the business for 30+ years. I’ve seen his work in the past, which was excellent. I have a beautiful new driveway. It was a good experience working with him!

Everything went very well. I was pleased with the process since I had some worries because of the fact that I do not live at the site and could not be there while the work was being done. All the planning was done by phone and Kevin Murphy did what he said he would do.

He was extremely professional and completed the work as we had discussed. He did a great job and I would recommend to friends and utlize in the future if I have a need.

Kevin gave me an good overview of what he would do. Once I agreed to his price, he set up two days for the work to be done. Day 1 he demolished the old concrete block and poured new concrete for the sidewalk. Day 2 he rebuilt the brick steps. Day 3 he returned to pick up and clean up all the debris. On the whole the whole project was done very professionally and was 100% hassle free for me. My only complaint (and a very minor one) is that Kevin is not very prompt in responding to e mails, though he will eventually reply.

Kevin and his team were very professional and personable. Kevin was on site daily and the same crew performed the work from start-finish. Rain caused some delays and Kevin's crew leader worked over the weekend to catch up the project (many thanks Elysio!). Kevin walked me through the entire process-from explaining why the problems occurred, what he would do to prevent the same thing from happening again, and agreeing to incorporate changes I wanted to make to the size and shape of the porch. The bricks used to build my home are no longer manufactured yet Kevin was able to produce a close match. He "went the extra mile" to ensure there was a close match and was very patient with my questions. I am perfectionistic and it is rare for me to find a service provider who can satisfy my attention to detail. Kevin and his team met my expectations and I hope to have them return in the future to demolish and replace my existing back patio. Kevin gave us an estimate in March for some stone veneer work we needed done on a new deck and portions of our house. A few weeks ago, we finally got to the point in the construction where Kevin's team could come work. Even though the estimate was several months old, they honored it with no problem. They worked within our timeline and, when they ran short of a special type of stone, they made up the lost time by working on a Saturday to ensure they were completed before the deadline, so we didn't have to reschedule the contractors who were to begin work immediately after Kevin's crew finished. Kevin did most of the prep work and cleanup himself. His crew did the bulk of the masonry work without his supervision, and they were courteous and professional the entire time. The stone veneer work they did was superior in workmanship to the stone veneer that was installed on our house when it was built.

We were thrilled with the work they did. They staff were great.

Kevin tore out our front steps and walkway and replaced them with a beautiful new set of flagstone steps and pathway. He also removed a landscape tie wall and built a stacked stone wall in its place. then he removed our old driveway and poured a new one. The results were exactly as we had hoped as Kevin went out of his way to listen to everything we wanted . The quality of the workmanship was excellent. There is no better company to work on this kind of project. He left the project with everything looking great . You might not get the lowest price out there but you will get a much better value for your money and no headaches.

We spoke with several masons and selected Kevin Murphy because of his punctuality, availability, courtesy and knowledge; his price for each project was competitive. Kevin helped us with design and material choices, and his entire team was skilled, polite and totally professional. They arrived early each day and worked very efficiently on each stage of the projects. Kevin was on-site daily directing the work, and he rectified a design flaw in the brickwork at the back of the house by installing a lintel at no additional charge. We felt that we were in excellent hands throughout, and this was completely stress-free contracting! The guys cleaned everything up after the work was completed and were eager to insure our satisfaction. The results are beautiful and exceeded our expectations. Kevin Murphy was a pleasure to do business with and we recommend him unreservedly to anyone needing masonry or concrete work.
